— Purple Avenger See, what we really need is a national ID card you'd have to produce to get a job bagging groceries. Of course it would include fancy, expensive, and less forgeable high-tech biometrics. Reich Bundeskanzler für die Bevölkerung unter Kontrolle zu halten(2) Durbin is spearheading this "heroic" effort to purge undesirable illegally operating subversive elements from the American workforce.
I'm sure all patriotic citizens can see how critical and necessary it is for us to implement these measures to maintain the purity of the taxpaying workforce! The voting electorate? Well...not so much.
(1) Produce your documentation asshole!
(2) Reich Chancellor for keeping the population under control

I mean, really.
What do the Democrats think the "civilian national security force" that's "just as well funded" as the military is going to use to do their dirty work? Of course people will need to carry papers!
Maybe their idea is that you should only need to carry papers if you're an actual legal citizen, with illegal aliens just wandering about like they own the place.

I'm guessing that too is a feature rather than a bug. Establishing multi-10's of billions of dollars a year bureaucracy and expansion of Federal reach is always seen as a benefit in D.C.

If we just check citizenship whenever people come into contact with government, registering for school, at the emergency room without health insurance, giving birth, upon contact with the police,... and quickly deported illegals as they are found, there wouldn't be much of a problem, nor much hassle for citizens to have to endure that the illegal infestation forces on us (just as muslim terrorism forces all to strip and bend over just to get on an airplane). If we arrested and jailed politicians and government officials that intentionally harm the US by providing sanctuary for illegals (i.e. aiding and abetting an enemy invasion) then we wouldn't have much of a problem, either. But, the government refuses to defend American sovereignty, which should be adequate reason for impeachment (if not harsher measures).

Almost forgot about the annual immigration agitation rallies on May Day.
Deputy Chief Jose Perez Jr. said that police initially estimated no more than 60,000 people would participate in the May Day march to Los Angeles City Hall. But Perez said those numbers were revised after organized labor and immigrant rights groups informed authorities they expect far more people.
“We are looking for an orderly crowd," Perez said. "Organizers are also looking for an orderly crowd for this to be a success.Posted by: Kratos (reunited with the Blade of Olympus) at April 30, 2010 06:31 AM (9hSKh)

No, cash will stay - at least in the form of anonymous debit gift cards. This government will just arrest business owners and let the illegals run free - and our retarded overlords will encourage the illegals to sue business owners who were arrested for hiring them under the table. Kind of how the states all run lotteries, giving out untold billions of dollars and processing tickets by the boatload, every day, without any complaints of hanging chads or miscounts or anything ... but those same states can't reliably count simple votes for an election.
Yep. That's government for you.

Expansion of redundant bureaucracy.
There's more to it. Remember that we're essentially dealing with a mental illness in people who want to control everything you do, say, and think. Part of this is recognizing them as the powerful ones and you as the un-powerful in order to feed their insatiable ego. They need a constant reminder of their position as god. They also need to make damn good and sure that you know it as well, all of the time and in as many ways as they can think of.

Democrats are taking a second look at islam's practice of forcing adherents to kiss the ground five times a day. They think that methods such as this are necessary for Americans to realize that, as individuals, we are insignificant, worthless clumps of cells and that we should remember our place.
Liberals envy islam. Those muslims really know how to let people know what worthless pieces of shit they are, useful only to forward the aggressive takeover that islam is oriented towards. Liberals are taking notes. Mo really knew how to beat any notions of individualism right out of a person.

See, he's outsourcing government functions to the private sector! And while you are employed, the SEIU will hold the card for you, so if you don't wander off the reservation get another job without the jack-booted thugs proper authorities approving it!

I used to have that same fear. I still do, to a degree.
Last month, an officer from the Civilian National Security Force interrupted me at work. She looked right at me and said, "Komm mit mir tanzen." My first impulse was to get the hell out of there. Think, FireHorse, I thought to myself. Don't panic. I don't know German, but I tried to come to grips with the situation and figure it out.
It turned out that I was just playing the new music video from Nena on the Internet. Everything turned out all right. Well, that time, anyway, but I'd like to think I'm better prepared in case something like that ever happens again.

Why not have a tamper-proof national ID? Every other country has one. Hell, we have one, it's called a Social Security Card. Yeah, I know it says right at the bottom "NOT TO BE USED FOR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES".

Funny you mention the "Not to be used..." line. I am looking at my two SS cards (YES, they're the same number!!)- one from when I originally got my first one has that line. The much newer one (the old one had been presumed lost) does not have that line. And that number is an identifier, make no mistake. Credit apps, school enrollment, anything with a contract, really. No guvmint services without it. Holy hell, newborns are now required to have one soon as they pop from the oven- the only reason for that was so the appropriate income tax could be collected from Junior when they become a newspaper delivery agent at 10.
