Dems Continue to Distance Themselves from Obama
— Gabriel Malor

Gibbsy has been blathering about a new media strategy that returns the White House to the salad days of the 2008 campaign, but it seems the President's fellow Democrats would prefer him to keep his head down and out of their spotlight:

Richard Blumenthal, the [Connecticut] Democratic attorney general, who is running for the U.S. Senate, Monday said it was “an open question,” whether he would ask President Barack Obama to campaign on his behalf.

Asked if the president’s appearance would be a plus or minus for his campaign, Blumenthal said: “I can’t comment.”

Blumenthal made the remarks after he spoke to a meeting of the Yale College Democrats held at Branford College.

[...]

He said he had not made a decision one way or the other on asking Obama, who came once to Connecticut to campaign for Dodd, as did Vice President Joseph Biden.

When you're a winner, everyone wants you on their team. When you're a loser (*cough*New Jersey*Virginia*Massachusetts*cough*), maybe it would be better if you kept your distance.

8 They may not want him, but they're stuck with him.  Every Republican candidate worth a spit will find a way to tie his opponent to Obama.  But their real problem is going to be Obama's inability to understand his unpopularity.  I mean, who exactly is going to explain to the guy "You suck"?

I half expect the White House to deliberately nationalize the November elections thinking they can get better support in Congress, no matter how bad the situation looks to those of us with eyes to see.

10 Hell, I think Blumenthal should have Zero campaign for him. Mikey Moore, Snakehead Carville, and Sherriff Biden too, with the closing speech done by the head Kostard. Mebbe Bob Bectel isn't too busy to waddle down too.

12 Don't listen to 'em, Barry--just show up and campaign for 'em on your own.  Just stop off on the way home from Date Night with Thing.

13 But, but, he's "New and Improved!"

All Obama needs to do is personalize his ads to the browser's regional IP to ensure the sale: "Learn how [Connecticut] Senator won election by following The Won's simple rule."

It's a cinch!  He'll have his supermajority back like that.

(Now excuse me, I have this overwhelming urge to lose weight using Acai berries...)

18 We have determined the reason our nation misunderstands the sterling achievements of Our President in office, is that we must be more subtle, nuanced and prudent when exposing the White House to the hopelessly biased press corpses, like Andrea Mitchell. In future, Our President will grant audiences in the Royal Presidency Chamber, upon petition duly approved by the Cabinet of Czars and the House of Senatorial Lords. Genuflection will be mandatory.

20 Blumenthal doesn't need his "help" anyway. First, since Teh O seems to have the anti-Midas touch, Dick is astute enough not to do anything that will fuck up a pretty sure thing. I'm sure he's more than happy to watch the GOP candidates blow their wads on the primary and then play clean up. As an aside, I received yet another mailer from Linda McMahon over the weekend. It looks like she's courting the tea party vote. I haven't heard anything from Simmons yet. I imagine his job down at the carwash ain't cutting it against the WWE jack.

Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no...no, no, not at all. I, I, I just think that your ...uh....appeal is becoming more.....selective.

24 It's too bad that George Bush damaged the office of the Presidency so much that Obama is now unpopular by proxy.  It's too bad that Republicans in the House and the Senate are so partisan and unwilling to work with our new, young President, that the public is disdainful and distrustful of politicians who are only trying to do what's best for America.  It's too bad that all the mouth breathing, bitter clinging sans coulottes are too stupid to know what's best for them, and that their opposition to President Obama's agenda is based solely on deep-seated ugly racism.  I hope America wakes up soon and sees that only President Obama is The One who can save us.   Until that day comes, I am praying for my country and weeping for my children.

Obama is either the dumbest SOB in the room or he has some kind of a strange strategy that he hasn't informed the locals on.

One thing to keep in mind thought is that his adm rightfully believes that the MSM will parrott everything he says so that these inconsistencies will not show up to most of the public.

Could this have been behind all those attacks on Fox?

In any case, the general public no longer beives the MSM. So their strategy is bombing anyway. The MSM blew their wad during the election and it will take years of honest rporting to get their reputation back.

Which means they will never get it back.

26 But I thought that all we needed was more Obama. Round the clock Obama. Obama is superduper popular and he's just not letting everyone know that.

27 27 But I thought that all we needed was more Obama. Round the clock Obama. Obama is superduper popular and he's just not letting everyone know that.     That's because "The Party of No" Republicans have been adept at distorting and obfuscating President Obama's message.  It's been hard for him to get his message out because of all the shrill partisanship and unwarranted criticism.  Once he can get a little more face time with every day Americans, and once the right wing attack machine can be silenced, President Obama will be able to better articulate the plan he has to save America.  I think people like to see their president on t.v., reassuring us and telling us how he's going to create jobs, reform health care, and save the planet.  I always I make sure I'm home to watch his precious few televised speeches live.  I always get such a thrill to watch America's first Black President, who overcame so much to get where he is today, and I know I am not alone in that sentiment.  There's something so calming about his gracious presence.  He's so smart and so caring.  We are so lucky to have him.

35 Dems don't want an America-hating traitor with an IQ of 73 campaigning for them? Dems shouldn't be ashamed to stand up and let everyone know exactly who they are and what they want to do. Do they think that they can pass themselves off as being pro-American? LOL.
