— Ace Bad Headline and Thesis: I'm going to let this stand, but note the correction -- this ad, while in fact featured on Discovery.com's Treehugger.com, is in fact from 2009, so my attempt to link this to James Lee is obviously, what's the term, chronologically challenged. Thanks to "Bomber" for checking on that; everyone was linking it as if it was new, and I, um, just assumed. I know I shouldn't do that.
The ad is still the ad, of course, and still demonstrates the creepy kill-your-children attitude of the eco-fascists. But my attempt to draw a connection to James Lee is just wrong.
...
This is just wonderful.
Remember James Lee? Of course you do. He called babies "human parasites" and called for their extermination.
He also shot up the Discovery Channel's offices to protest their failure to get tough enough on global warming.
Well, the Discovery Company (owner of that channel and many more) now owns Treehugger.com, which they describe thus:
Discovery Communications, the number-one nonfiction media company, today announced the acquisition of the leading eco-lifestyle website, TreeHugger.com. The interactive site becomes part of DiscoveryÂ’s global multiplatform initiative Planet Green, which includes the first 24/7 eco-lifestyle TV network launching in 50 million homes in early 2008.The deal brings TreeHugger.comÂ’s rich mix of news, blogs and advice to Planet Green and furthers DiscoveryÂ’s previously announced goal of developing original programming related to the environment, sustainable development, conservation and organic living.
And what is Treehugger.com now pimping as the "Coolest Environmental Advertising"?
Why, a Hanged Child.

I guess we know how to influence the Discovery Channel, eh? Shoot up their offices and you too can get you message highlighted by the company.
Unbelievable.
Thanks to Adam Baldwin.
Error: No connection here possible to James Lee's shooting spree, as he ad came in 2009.

A friend of a friend promised my children (3 & 5) that they were going to get rid of their mini poodle mix (8 pound fur ball). Well, my children couldn't wait because they love that dog. Turns out they decided not to get rid of their dog and now I'm forced to tell my kids that they aren't going to get the puppy. They have been on their best behavior for a week, and earned enough $$ to pay for blankets etc for the little guy, and now I have to break their hearts.
My question: Should I tell them they can get another puppy? Or do I just tell them that nothing is fair in life?

My mom has had very good experience with rat terriers. They're small, 10-20 pounds, very loyal and extremely smart. Maybe too smart. BP estimated the worse scenario to be a leak of 2.5 million gallons per day. The government, meanwhile, was telling the public the well was releasing 210,000 gallons per day - a figure that later grew closer to BP's figure.
Funny, all kinds of college professor were saying that BP was lying, that it was close to 2.2 million gallons per day, not 210,000 gallons per day.

Burning fossil fuels leads to radioactive traces and gaseous pollutants in the air.
Spent nuclear fuel just can't be stored safely for the next 10,000 years.
Solar cell factories use copious amounts of toxic liquids and metals in their production.
Hydropower diverts rivers or creates artificial lakes displacing fuzzywuzzies.
Wind turbines kill birds and are unsightly and noisy.
Farming wastes topsoil.
Wood fire offends your neighbor's nose and destroys forests.
Living in huts is destructive to the trees and animals whose bark and skin you use.
Living in caves displaces bears from their rightful homes.
I'm afraid it'll all have to go.

Brian is the Lt Gov of Vermont and he's running for governor. Brian is also a pilot for American Airlines.
Imagine that. A politician with a real job.

@115 - poor Joe. Barry already used the "car in a ditch" allegory. Joe's really got nothing.
It's like the Republicans took a big ol' Saturday morning beer-shit and clogged up the only toilet in your two-bedroom appartment. And you're there, sloshing around with the plunger in their poo-water, and they're trying to tell you how to work the plunger!
You're there, all sweaty and stinkin' like their stew, and they're just sitting on the edge of the sink, laughin' and telling you about how you're plunging wrong. "No, no, man...sharp, powerful jabs, none of this slow, long stuff." Or, "You're using a socialist plunger."
And you've standing in a puddle of their watered-down excrement, and you've long since ruined your Joe Boxer jammie bottoms, and it's just like, "I don't mind cleaning up your shit, but just STFU and let me fix the clogger! You wanna go make yourself useful, go mix up a bucket of Lysol or something."
*appluase*
And so you're plunging away, maybe you're taking turns with <Democratic Candidate> ...*applause*... and next thing you know, you hear this big SPLOOSH come from the hallway. You go take a look, and now the Republicans are standing there, with an empty bucket that they've dropped and spilled the bleach all over the carpet!
*boos, sneers from SEIU*
And man, now you're really mad, because now the carpet's bleached out, and you can kiss your deposit on that apartment goodbye...
...etc...

Mama - I adopted a rat terrier through a rescue group - they are better than shelters - no kill and no govern't connection coming into house - and the rat terrier is a great loveable dog! Mine plays forever outside chasing lizards - and not a yapper type - only once in a while if she is playing watch dog!

- Now that the bowl's broken open, you find your old watch that your ex-girlfriend got you for your six-month-iversary...Republican borrowed it once, and told you he'd gotten mugged. Girlfriend broke up with you because you lent it in the first place to such an idiot.
