Duke Not-a-Rape Accuser Accused of Attempted Murder
— Ace

Solid citizen.

Who would have thought that a drugged-out psychotic whore and serial false accuser would turn out to be a bad seed.

The "attempted murder" charge here seems absurd, though.

The woman who was at the center of the phony Duke lacrosse rape case was arrested today and charged with attempted murder.

The Durham Police Department told ABC News that Crystal Gale Mangum got into an argument with her boyfriend, Milton Walker, shortly after midnight on Thursday.

The arrest warrant claims that Mangum, 33, scratched, punched and threw objects at Walker before taking all of his clothes and setting them on fire in a bath tub. Firefighters were sent to the home to extinguish the blaze.

Police said they had to evacuate three children, ages 10, 9 and 3, from the apartment because of the fire. It was not immediately known whose children they were.

Mangum is charged with first-degree attempted murder for communicating a threat because she allegedly told Walker in front of officers, "I'm going to stab you [expletive]!"

Unless she's a Fremen and has mastered the "Killing Word," that's not attempted murder. I suppose they might be using that statement to establish intent and calling the arson the actual act that could lead to death, but that seems contrived.

A group of 88 Duke professors just demanded prosecutors charge the Duke Lacrosse with rape "just because."

If she deliberately set fire to an occupied house/apartment/building, I believe that constitutes attempted murder. In most jurisdictions that's the case anyway.

The best part of the Duke Rape story was when the test results for fluids in her underwear came back with the DNA of 3 different men. None of which were Duke Lax players. Freaking Hilarious.

The question then because did she have a threesome earlier in the day, or did she just not change her underwear after three seperate sexual encounters.

How do those 88 professors still have jobs?

Posted by: Roky Erikson at February 18, 2010 09:31 AM (mNU7w)

33 See!  This obviously proves that something unspeakable did happen that night!  Obviously the Duke Lacrosse Thugs raped raped this beautiful, fragile soul.  Ever since their hideous, vicious  assault, she has not been the same.  They killed the woman she was going to be, and turned her into a desparate woman without dignity or direction.  They robbed her of the bloom of youthful innocence and have created in her, an inability to trust and express love in appropriate ways.  Since they brutalized and traumatized her, she has been emotionally shut down.  The fact that they got away with one of the most heinous crimes and cover-ups in ever in America, is truly disgusting.  Basically, these rich, white, preppy, callow, racist youths have collectively raped every black woman in America, and killed the hopes and aspirations of all women of color.  Because they were able to buy their way out of paying for their atrocious crimes, no Black woman can ever feel safe or feel that they will ever see justice prevail.  We call upon the police and prosecutor of Durham to do the right thing and bring these young men of unspeakable privalege and wealth to justice.  Crystal is making a desparate plea for justice, she is crying for our help.  Don't let her down again!  If prosecution is not possible due to double jeopardy, then you must file a civil lawsuit, and do so now!  These boys must pay, so Crystal and her three small children can get over the great damage inflicted upon them by these monsters.  She needs a large settlement in order to start her life anew, and for justice to prevail!  For with no justice, there is not peace.

Posted by: Gang of 88 at February 18, 2010 09:32 AM (CfmlF)

34 She was clearly showing the signs of post-traumatic stress disorder from the raping she endured at the hands of those lacrosse players. Sometimes it takes a while for that trauma to manifest itself. Clearly, all of those players need to be re-arrested now that this new evidence has come to light. Otherwise, you're all racists.

I hate that perception.  When I went the problem with the hippies and lefty trustfund students (BIG difference - lots of hippie trash couldn't get in) were just the most vocal and strident; like everywhere they shouted down everyone else, and the conservative students were too busy making grades and working (and drinking).

The cowboys did kick down the shanty-town the trash built to protest UT's investments in Shell, though, so it's not a completely lost cause.  Before my time, though.

Dagny:  I went to Berkeley.  Only conservative in a 75-mile radius in any direction.  You should see the fun I have when they come calling for alumni donations.  Top that.

When they come calling for money I ask if Brodhead is still president and if the gang of 88 has been disciplined.

It's a reunion year and I am getting scads of mail and email to attend. 2 of the chairs are former roommates. I googled their names to see who they donated to in the last election. Obama.

When they call, and they will, I will have my response ready. Mmmm Mmm, Mm

101 94 So, is Duke the only radical left wing university in the south. Regretably, my great alma matter (SP?) is also hard-core hippy (University of Texas). But we can ball, baby.

UNC-CH makes Duke look like a conservative heaven.  Except for the facility Duke is STILL pretty conservative, over 60% of the students are in Frats or Sororities.  Since about 20% of the campus is foreign, that makes for most everyone.  Did I mention it costs $60,000 a year.  You get a good number of rich conservative kids, along with the Yankees. 15% must come from NC or SC.

UNC Chapel Hill?  60% women, 10% gay, 20% minority.  Home of John Edward's poverty program.  Speaker of the NC House is from there, can you say hard core commie?  This is the Berkley of the South.

Duke guys love to date over there, since most of the UNC guys are gay.

102 Dang Straights--you are correct. I graduated in 1981, and was totally embarrassed by the lefties shouting down George Schultz (I believe in 1980). The stnky hippies were the loudest and most obnoxious. The frat rats and sorora-whores dressed to the nines, but were mostly airheads. We working class students, who got in on our own merits and had to work for tuition andspending money, pretty much kept quiet. We got most of the trim, though.

105 Looks like the Duke players are lucky she only charged them with rape. A real nut case.

106 The woman was and IS a fucking victim. You fucking sick sexist bastards sink to the level of fucking dirt to fucking destroy an innocent woman who was raped and fucking dared to speak up about it. Now you're fucking accusing HER of a fucking crime to get your fucking vengeance. Fucking sick fucking bastards!

She wasn't "scratch[ing] and punch[ing]" him. She was scratching at the walls of her private hell of injustice.

She wasn't trying to stab him, either. She was trying to cut out the awful memories of that fateful, unavenged night.

She wasn't burning his clothes in the bath tub. It was a symbolic conflagration for the souls of the unpunished.
