— Dave in Texas During the morning commute. Moscow authorities say two female suicide bombers.
Twenty-four died in the first blast at 0756 (0356 GMT) as a train stood at the central Lubyanka station, beneath the offices of the FSB intelligence agency.About 40 minutes later, a second explosion ripped through a train at Park Kultury, leaving another 13 dead.
The FSB said it was likely a group from the North Caucasus was responsible.
The BBC's Richard Galpin in Moscow says no group has yet said it carried out the attacks, but past suicide bombings in the capital have been carried out by or blamed on Islamist rebels fighting for independence in Chechnya.

Soon, if the phone lines stay up, we and the Russians will have bi-laterally disarmed, for the greater good of the restayaz, and to finally allay the 1961 nuclear nightmares of the Kubrick Krew. Then there will be Peace!
So this here, see, is Year Zero of the new arms race, the one that actually has, like, arms. The good news? Biggest bombs concealed in biggest bomb bays, so to speak, so USA is still in the running, shit-fer-tits.

The clue lies in the ship's damage it self. The stern of the ship, the last 33 meters, broke away. This means there was a blast somewhere at the 55th meter mark from the front of a ship. . . if the ship was moving forward and impacted a mine, why would the rear of the ship fall off?
Answer: it wasn't a mine, and a torpedo struck that section of the ship.

The mine was supposed to be adrift, so in theory it could strike the ship anywhere. Plus, a turning ship won't necessarily strike a mine with its bow. But the possibility does exist that it was a torpedo strike and South Korea wants to minimize the incident.

This just strikes me as odd...
"This is likely to be our main conclusion, because fragments of the bodies of two female suicide bombers were found earlier at the scene of the incident and examinations show that these individuals came from the North Caucasus region," he said.
Seems to me if the blasts were that big, there wouldn't be much left of the original bombers to determine sex at all, not to mention where they are from.

Put another way, saying a mine created a blast in the rear of the ship is about the same chance a non-moving ship would strike a mine. Which is about nil.

Since WWI mines, designed by sane regimes, go safe if they lose their mooring point.

I've skimmed several articles about the alleged mining. Some say it was likely an old mine, possibly dating back to the Korean War. Others claim it was intentionally floated by the Norks. Considering how crazy that part of the world is it's unlikely the truth will ever get out.Posted by: Ed Anger at March 29, 2010 05:49 AM (7+pP9)

--I know the feeling. Once when I was in Boston and was moving to a new place, I discovered that the fridge there was broken --after returning from my initial shopping run to stock it. At the time I did not have my own card and was also a long way from anyone I knew who might have been able to hold that stuff for me. Luckily a couple of nice old lady neighbors had just barely enough room for me to keep things until the landlord was able to replace the fridge.

Luckily it had not been too long since I had been in there. We ate chicken bog from a charity bake sale for the last two days so the most it could have been off was two days.
It was long enough for small packages to thaw and short enough for the big stuff to remain mostly frozen. Even the small stuff is still cool.
Thankfully no flies. But why couldn't this have happened a few days ago when globull warning was keeping the temps down in the 40s during the day?

Rev. Wright visited the White House in February and March, along with Soros, Zogby and Jesse Jackson. Then Valerie Jarett delivered the keynote address at last weekend's 46th Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) national convention. For some reason I had flashbacks from the election when there were rumors of tapes, one confirmed by the LA Times but never released where Obama applauds something controversial at a dinner for Rashid Khalidi and another where Michelle Obama says some hateful things about whites (aka bitter clingers.) It's doubtful we'll ever see those tapes or the Scare Force One flight manifest or lots of things. But anyway, here is that other comment from Politico article comment thread.
Come April, Netanyahu is back. There's a big meet up with Russia, and the USA, and other countries. About "reducing nuclear capabilities." (Let me guess. Israel gives theirs up, and Iran gets theirs.) Supposedly, at first, the bamster didn't want Netanyahu there. But now there's an invitation on the table. What happened when the bamster saw Netanyahu at the White House, is that he handed Netanyahu "13 demands." And, said Netanyahu could use the Roosevelt Room, to talk things over, and call out. While he (the bamster) went to have dinner with his wife and children. No photographs in an age where everyone has a cell phone, is just ridiculous. But believe what you want. Meanwhile, Bibi and the other Israelis said the Roosevelt Room was BUGGED! So, they left the White House for the Israeli Embassy, where the Israelis control. And, nothing is "bugged." The real insult? Who would dare bug the Roosevelt Room? While at the Israeli Embassy, I am sure Bibi could eat anything he wanted. And, the bamster lost out. Because he wasn't invited "over." Over there. What's holding war back in the Mideast? Iran's nukes. They aren't there, yet. And, the Palestinians don't want to "proceed to all out war" without them. Call Sherlock in Dubai. See if you can get more information.

It will be interesting to see what they actually do get charged with. Keep in mind that most federal Grand Juries are damn rubber stamps now so no help there. Especially with the feds feeding the press with all kinds of propaganda and keeping the warrants sealed.
If I was on the Grand Jury and they brought this in with little or no actual real crime I would talk the rest of the people into charging the feds with malicious prosecution and harassment.
A federal grand jury has almost unlimited latitude in leveling charges/indictments.

I do so love the federal crime of "conspiracy". It will be interesting to see what the "attempted use of weapons was" in their plans to kill a law enforcement person.
Keep in mind that in "conspiracy" charges there must be more to the act than simply discussing it. They must make an actual material action in forwarding the plot.
As far as "conspiracy to commit sedition" I had no idea that there was such a crime. It is almost impossible in this day and age to commit sedition in the first place. Hell, they couldn't even charge some of these assholes found on the battlefield but now they are going to charge someone for talking abut it?

Terri Gross on NPR was interviewing some hack from the SPLC over the weekend. The guy was discussing the Tea Party, and its message of right-wing "hate" and "intolerance"; and what needs to be done to contain the spreading right-wing extremism. Sounded like he was talking about al Queda. Gross of course just nodded along, never challenging any of his biased Leftist views.
Basically, he blamed the Tea Party's hatred and rage at the changing demographics of the U.S., a black president, a yearning for Socialism by the younger generations, and an increasingly "dark"-colored population...

Except to reign in the occasional moby or troll who calls for hanging congressmen from lamp posts, etc. What I'd actually like to do is see enough people band together in statements of disgust for, and refusal to be cowed by, this administration that they can't do anything. Basically, that's what Ghandi did in India.
I know there are radicals associated with this regime who would love a purge, or pogrom, but once there are enough people in open defiance, then all they'll be able to do is go after the people who actually do something illegal. I'm sure it is a scary thought for them that they could only go after, you know, real bad guys, but I think we can put them in that situation if we try.

advocate anti-government doctrines.
The was the Gobmint has been acting for the last 20 years I can't imagine anyone that doesn't espouse anti government doctrines.
It's only the start.
More to come.

Basically, he blamed the Tea Party's hatred and rage at the changing demographics of the U.S., a black president, a yearning for Socialism by the younger generations, and an increasingly "dark"-colored population...
This weekend, I caught a bit of a conversation between Wanda Sykes and George Lopez on the T.V. They were talking about the census, especially the race questions. Among the rapid fire idiocy, Sykes made the comment that the only reason those questions are on there is so white people will know "how long they have left" or something to that effect. I don't know what bothered me more, that statement, the reaction it got, or the realization that my yet unborn grandchildren may have to join a white power group as a matter of survival.
Hey SPLC, you want to know what stokes racism? Shit like that!
