— DrewM 47-44 with a 3.2% margin of error? We'll call it a tie.
Boxer's slight numerical lead masks potentially serious problems for the senator, starting with how 52 percent of the respondents hold an unfavorable view of her.At the same time, her job approval rating is among the lowest that Field has measured for her since she was first elected to the Senate in 1992: 43 percent of registered voters disapprove of her performance while 42 percent approve. Among likely voters, 48 percent disapprove and 42 percent approve.
While voters' responses to a pollster in July may change by the time they vote in November, the new poll shows that whether voters love or hate her, 93 percent hold an opinion about Boxer.
"She is vulnerable," Field Poll director Mark DiCamillo said. "This is very ominous for her."
If Fiorina is this close now, just wait until she unleashes the Demon Sheep on Boxer's ass!
Here's something I'd like to hear from Barbara Boxer next year: "I insist you call me Former Senator Boxer! Do you know how hard you have to work to be a Democrat and still lose in California?"

If only we could get rid of Boxer, Pelosi, and Bat Boy, it would help CA's rep immensely.

In the first day of a two-day barnstorming tour that will cover nine stops from Stockton to San Diego, Boxer jetted up and down the California Coast on Tuesday in a chartered Gulfstream G-3 jet.
At several points, Boxer argued that the Republican senate nominee "almost broke the back of a great company" by laying off 30,000 workers and sending jobs overseas. Fiorina, who headed the firm between 1999 and 2005, has said she did what was necessary to help the company survive the dot-com bust.
Wait...did I just see the LA Times try and be fair and balanced?

“If you’re asking if the United States is about to become a socialist state, I’d say it’s actually about to become a European state, with the expansiveness of the welfare system and the progressive tax system like what we’ve already experienced in Western Europe,” Harvard business and history professor Niall Ferguson declared during Monday’s kickoff session, offering a withering critique of Obama’s economic policies, which he claimed were encouraging laziness.
“The curse of longterm unemployment is that if you pay people to do nothing, they’ll find themselves doing nothing for very long periods of time,” Ferguson said. “Long-term unemployment is at an all-time high in the United States, and it is a direct consequence of a misconceived public policy.”
OMG - My head just exploded. This pro-Obama elite is obviously a creationist, a climate change denier, a racist, and a heartless bastard who should be encouraging our congress to extend unemployment benefits again.

This election will get ugly. Boxer will focus on Carly's record as CEO of HP, which quite frankly, doesn't look that good to the average idiot voter. HP under Carly's tenure lost market share, jobs, and money. I recognize that she presided over the company during the tech bubble crash, but that nuance is going to get lost on the typical CA voter.
Carly is bad for jobs is Boxer's winning slogan.

"If Fiorina is this close now, just wait until she unleashes the Demon Sheep on Boxer's ass!"
I doubt it will be a Demon Sheep. She's already launched the Boxer Blimp. I think the next iteration will be a Robo-Boxer: a boxer dog's body with Babs' head, which over the course of the spot loses its skin to reveal a Terminator-style robot controlled by the Progressive wing of the Democrat Party.
Either that or a giant Wizard of Oz-style head demanding that everyone coming in front of her call her Senator. "The Great and Powerful Senator of Babs has SPOKEN!"

She's been doing awesome with endorsements for Governors and Senators, but she's been kind of hit-and-miss with Congress. On the win side she has Allen West, Sean Duffy, Adam Kizzinger and Tim Scott. On the loss side, Doug Hoffman, Ward Vaughn, Cecile Bledsoe, and Tim Burns.

Carly, and all Republicans, should focus on how democrats are indeed welfare state socialists, how democrats are financially inept, how democrats worship at the alter of big government, high, job-killing taxation and failed economic philosophies, *cough* Paul Krugman*, how Andy Stern was the most frequent guest at the White House, and how the democrats plan to turn the entire US economy into California and Detroit.

Boxer's been in office for 20 years, the economy contracted 5%, unemployment is at 15% (in California), the deficit is exploding and foreclosures are rising again. 'Nuff said.
That's all the Republicans need to hit from now until November.

HP is still operating, many of it's peers (like Gateway) are not. Recall that there was a big downturn in tech during her tenure.
It's not so much voting for Fiorina as voting AGAINST Obama/Boxer.

If you remember its endorsements before the primary, LAT didn't endorse anyone. The non-endorsement slammed Boxer hard -- they said they'd have liked to have endorsed Kaus for his politics, but figured he'd never be anything more than a gadfly; or Devore or Fiorina for their upstanding-ness, but didn't like their politics. (They liked Campbell less than they liked Boxer.)
I think it's likely that they're not going to endorse a candidate for Senate in the general, either, which is as close to an endorsement Fiorina that they'd ever get.
