I can say no more, as I was pledged to secrecy. GQ, however, was not.

"Regardless of the merits of ZengerleÂ’s case against Kos, it does state two specific ways that opinion writing can be corrupted:

1. presence of unknown money contributions,

2. political motivations that override concerns for truth ...

How would a lay person recognize these signs without being able to do the investigative journalism that could uncover a money trail or gain access to a private listserv?

Zengerle was asked as much, but didnÂ’t provide a direct answer. Are political blogs in fact more susceptible to this kind of undue influence and therefore are a notch below the opinion in newspapers and magazines? "

Duran Duran.  Because, let's face it, you can never have too much Duran.

or

Duran Duran.  Because one Duran is never enough, and three would be just too many.

Funny that he was a NoZe Brother.  Figures, too.  Those guys were always doing crazy shit.

And GQ did a write up on the NoZe Brotherhood back when Rand was there.  I wonder if the author knew this was their second story on the group.

Nobody enjoys a pie THAT much.  Except in those American Pie movies.

Convert?  Shit I've been here all along.

Yeah, it was for my "Jeffersonian FantasysTM" that I was "invited" to no longer post at that site...

I had never broken the rules, so they didn't ban me, but I was "asked" to leave...

120 For what it's worth, I think this 'scandal' is absolutely hilarious and will, if anything, only help Rand Paul.  It humanizes him, makes him seem like far less of a bug-eyed radical crusader and more of a fratty fun-loving guy.  This is the sort of thing my friends did all the time in college, and they're all thoroughly normal people (both liberal and conservative).

@117, it wasn't GQ; it was Esquire Magazine

If someone has access to old issues of Esquire, you might find a much better picture of Rand Paul.  Seems like that spread on the NoZe Brotherhood was around '83-'84.  I know it was the first half of the 80's, but that's as close as I can guess.

Seems like there was a full page picture of one NoZe brother rolling around on the ground in costume, and there may be more pictures of other brothers.  If so, it's likely Paul was there.

Here's something funny:  "[I]n the words of Baylor's president at the time, 'lewd, crude, and grossly sacrilegious."

Baylor's president at the time was Abner V. McCall... a former NoZe brother.

123 rdbrewer, are u a Baylor grad? Class of '86 here. Still have my slime cap, too.
