I am no fan on the RNC.  But to effect conservative change, you have to be involved.  We have to work at the grass roots, one district at a time.  It took us 80 years to get here--it will take 80 years to undo it.  We have to be more patient and persistent than them.  There will be setbacks, but we just have to keep plugging away.

I'll be honest. F the RNC. I never knew it did anything other than send me mail with surveys that i have to pay to be counted.(i know its a gimmick).

I think all of my political money will go to individual candidates(Toomey, Rubio, West, etc) and the Heritage Foundation's new venture to counter all the left wing groups that merge 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) groups, allowing them tax shelters and the ability to advocate for political groups, issues or candidates.

Lynch had some potent ammo an election or two ago with the revelation that Wexler wasn't even a FL resident, but screwed up by breaking the story several months too early allowing him time to recover and the media to subsequently pooh-pooh it.  If there had been a little national level strategy support advising him, they'd have told him to hold fire on the accusation until the last few weeks of the campaign.  It did piss off the locals, but that anger had dissipated by election time rendering the attack worthless.

The RNC generally doesn't spend money on races that Republicans are unlikely to win.  FL-19 is one of those districts, unless you have a really dynamic candidate - which the Republicans don't.  The RNC's ,oney is better spent trying to win Murtha's PA-12 seat (where the RCCC is spending $$) or HI-1 at this point.  Or NY-29, if Governor Paterson ever sets a special election date instead of covering for the Democrats, who'd likely lose.

I'll vote for the GOP, for sure.  I will attend Tea Party protests with great interest.  But right now, the Republican Party barely exists. 

It's time for a massive change.  Get back the staff Steele fired who won elections.  Force out the idiots who love beltway politics and self promotion.  Have the GOP join the Tea Party and promise specific reforms, specific cuts, and specific investigations.  Show me what money and volunteerism will be used to accomplish.

Don't tell me to KEEP giving 100% to a party that has repeatedly taken my charity and labor and wasted it.  I won't do that.  I don't give a shit about this party right now.

I'm just saying, give the man a fair shake. He doesn't have Newt Gingrich's credentials. But few Republicans do, and apparently the ones that do weren't willing to step up to the plate, and to undertake the responsibilities that Michael Steele has. Remember the circumstances under which Steele undertook his position, which shows that the guy has guts. I don't envy the man. He has a monumental task ahead of him. But from what I've seen so far, he is doing just fine, with all things being considered. I have a few minor criticisms of him, too, but no major complaints.

BTW, the Republican Party is in much better shape than you think it is. The GOP always bounces back. Republicans have grit.

Don't blame the media nor the DNC.  blame the GOP for not fighting for this seat.  they should have been buying ads, helping to get the message out.  If you want to win then play to win.

Actually, it's a D+25 district.  D 50%, R 25%, I 25%. 

The GOP did not even contest this election and they were able to split the I vote.  The GOP will clean up in November.  I can't wait!

110 I was at a Lynch event on Sunday: there was a ton of enthusiasm, but not much else.  I doubt almost anyone with an R after their name could win this district; however, Lynch has run twice now and lost, so I'd say it really shouldn't be him in November.

When Wexler resigned, my first thought was State Rep. Adam Hasner, who actually has a geographic political base in his overlapping district in Delray Beach, something Lynch was lacking.  He also has the advantage of being Jewish in one of the most Jewish districts in Congress: a Jewish Republican is probably a necessity if there's even a slight chance of winning the seat.

But even if November is such a blowout that it makes 1994 look like nothing, I still doubt this seat will be a part of the wave.  It's about as likely as Nancy Pelosi being voted out in San Francisco.

Perhaps it was completely impossible.  Hell, 25 points is a huge landslide win and even an amazing effort would have been hard pressed to overcome that.

This is just one symptom.  The real problem is that only a handful of republicans are making the case that we've never had a better chance to make.  The democrats are going to lose because of their failures, not because anyone really trusts the party of Lincoln anymore.

Notice, also, that Rasmussen has Obama's approval rating going up. By November, much of the anger will be gone and the GOP will do good, but not great.
