FNC Says AP Reports McChrystal Relieved*, Petraeus In
— DrewM

flaming_skull2a.gif

Bill Kristol floated this
idea yesterday. Wow. Patreaus is staying at CentCom taking a step down to** and will run Afghanistan day to day. Damn. Good luck to him. And us. He's probably the only guy people would believe in.

Still. Wow.

Will Eikenbery and Holbroke go as well? How about bringing Crocker out of retirement at the Bush center?

Picking Petraeus will enable Obama to say, "I'm in this to win it" it also eliminates any problem with confirmation by the Senate.

Petraeus is taking one for the team and by team I mean the country. This is a huge personal sacrifice and quite frankly a danger to his legacy. Winning Afghanistan is not a give, needless to say. If there was any doubt (and there wasn't), the man is a patriot. Godspeed to him.

I can't believe that McCrystal caused all of this over the chance to take a couple of shots at Joe "BFD" Biden, Jim Jones and Richard Holborke.

I have no love for Obama but McChrystal placed him in a no win situation.

First interesting thing to see when Petraeus gets in will be if he changes the ROEs.

*Technically, Obama says he accepted McChrystal's resignation. Original Post:

As I emailed to Slu last night...

It's not that McChrystal is smarter than anyone else (I think we now know that's not true) and irrepressible but we're on a clock in AFG. No one has 3, 4, 5 months to wait while we get a new guy picked, confirmed, up to speed and on the job. Yet leaving him there does real damage too. Not only does it hurt the culture of the military (which is real) but how well will everyone work going forward?

You can't fire him and you can't keep him. Well he did fire him.

**John Noonan says it's not a step down.

1 Lose-Lose, all the way around.  Biggest loss for Obama, since McChrystal was his hand-picked choice.  And Obama has no idea what to do.

26 I actually think this is the best possible answer here IF THEY REPLACE EIKENBERRY AS WELL.  He's the one that has to go too, with Petraeus bringing in Crocker as his Ambassador in Afghanistan if that's what he wants.

I think that Obama handled this as well as he could have, actually.  McChrystal's way of doing things wasn't working, and Petraeus would have carte blanche to do what needs to be done after the credibility he got from Iraq.  If the situation in Afghanistan can be saved, Petraeus is the one man with the mojo to get Obama and the Congress and the people on board to save it.

Good job, Obama.  Wow.  Can't believe I'm sayin' it.  You still suck as C-in-C, but I think ya handled this one correctly in a really impossible situation.

Posted by: Jeff B. at June 23, 2010 09:29 AM (GhUHn)

27 I have read the Rolling Stones article twice now, and I am struck not by the criticism of the CinC but by how mild the criticism actually was, and how little of it was actually uttered by McChrystal and his staff.  The vast majority of it was projected by the writer of the article.

The biggest target of the article was also Gen.  McChrystal himself it was highly unflattering towards him and towards the current Afghan strategy.  I would classify it as a hatchet job (actually I did at my site).

The NY Times this morning had this little note in it "One administration official described Mr. Obama as being particularly furious at a McChrystal aideÂ’s characterization of him as not seeming “very engaged” during their first White House meeting."  That was the big sin.  An aide pointing out that Obama is not very engaged in things, coming on the heels of the Gulf Oil Spill debacle he needs to show himself as in charge and this is a way to do it - to hell with the consequences.

Posted by: DrewM   Of course you can. Truman proved that a general could be fired. Lincoln proved that generals could be fired and/or kept. Hell, Lincoln fired people, brought them back, and then fired them again (McClellan). Obama proved that he's a whiny snivelling jerk who once again tried to posture as a deliberate, calm person while others got the knives out.   Also: Wow. They moved swifter on a General than they did on a 150 year old anti-semitic reporter sitting front row dead center. And just a tad quicker than that lightning strike on the Black Panther. But not as fast as that ninja-like response on the oil spill. Or the debt. Or jobs. We now know what will motivate the manufactured Messiah.

I think that Obama handled this as well as he could have, actually.

I disagree wholeheartedly.  I think it would have been much better if McChrystal stayed and Obama resigned.  Oh well, can't have everything I guess.

No, no matter who they put in charge of Afghanistan it won't make a bit of difference, it's a no win scenario at the moment.  No amount of military force is going to make the slightest difference.

Our enemies understand all to well that Obama administration lacks the intestinal fortitude to see this through, he's already pretty much told them in no uncertain terms that were pulling out by a certain date, maybe sooner if they can make it uncomfortable enough for the administration.

Add that to the fact that the administration has made it pretty clear that once we do pull out the current Afghan government will get lip service but probably little to nothing else in the way of support, and you've got a no win proposition.

The people on the street aren't going to stick their necks out because they have a pretty good idea that were going to be gone in a year or two and the Taliban will be back.  So do most of the people in the current Afghan government.  Their just going through the motions and trying to position themselves so when the Taliban do come back they won't be getting their heads chopped off.

Can't say as I can blame them too much for that.  Nope, the retarded way in which this entire affair has been handled should amount to an impeachable offense, sadly however that will never happen.

Nope, we already surrendered in Afghanistan, and for some inexplicable reason were still putting troops in harms way over there for no damn purpose whatsoever.

Sad, but true.

84 People who know me may be shocked to find that I'm siding with Bammer on this one. A senior general serves at the President's pleasure, and one of a President's necessary duties is to cashier generals that get too big for their boots. Lincoln fired generals by the gross. He kept firing until he found one who could give him victories (Grant). In fact, early on, Lincoln stuck with McClellan far too long out of concern for how it would affect the morale of the men. What he found out was that the mens morale was hurt far worse by losing all the time. Generals at McChrystal's level are as much political animals as they are military. It's an inevitable (and necessary!) part of having a military subordinate to the civilian government. And smacking down a mouthy general is a good way to remind the military of who runs things politically. Bammer did the right thing.

119 Putting Petraeus in charge of the Afghanistan AOE in addition to overall CENTCOM command may be a mistake. It's not that General Petraeus is untalented, but he's got too many irons in the fire as it is -- and he is under a lot of political strain as well as the burden of military planning. Don't forget that this is a guy who was a bird colonel not long ago in Iraq, and shot up to the top job over the heads of a lot of guys who now hate his guts and would love to see him fail. (And Petraeus does rub people the wrong way sometimes. He wasn't given the nickname of "King David" out of affection.) Obama, though, is facing a dillemma of his own making: having chosen McChrystal himself as the best man for the job, and now being forced to cashier his own first choice, whom else is there? It's clear to me that Obama neither understands nor is interested by military affairs -- his disengagement is so plain as to be unmistakable. And he has no one in his immediate orbit who can sit down with him and give him an honest survey of the military command at the present time: who the bright upcoming officers are, who are the old bulls who need to be put out to pasture, etc. All Obama can do is react, and be blown this way and that by the winds of fate.

131 Generals at McChrystal's level are as much political animals as they are military. It's an inevitable (and necessary!) part of having a military subordinate to the civilian government. And smacking down a mouthy general is a good way to remind the military of who runs things politically.

Bammer did the right thing.

Posted by: Monty

This depends entirely upon whether the issue at hand is a military that collectively forgot the oath that it took. Unless someone can prove that, then this is a stupid stunt. MacArthur was openly advocating a strategy that would involve the US with a direct war with mainland China. Lincoln was shuffling commanders in a deperate attempt to get the army of the Potomac moving and persevering. If we have an institution today that is in need of shock therapy, it's our intelligence agencies. And we know that this will not happen.

I think McCrystal is not so much the precedent's man as we have been led to believe (I am wondering -- who in the military was McC the most close too?), and yes, I'm sure precedent has in the back of his mind that he will ruin Petraeus politically with this move (I don't care how much of a mastermind the general is -- Astan is a mess, was a mess, will be a mess; it's the nature of the beast) -- and if the precedent is playing political games here, well...).

That said: precedent better be careful with this ploy.  The troops by and large adore Petraeus (McC wasn't at all hated by any means -- he has a loyal following with the troops and many will see this as him being set up; loyalty and regard for a commander dies hard...I present Shinseki as an example -- talk about heartache and denial that lasted a fair long time).  If the precedent tries to stab Petraeus in the back, well, it will not be a popular thing with the troops (who are already smarting and chaffing a fair bit).

Or he may drive the decision-making downline to the brigade general staffs: brigadiers and bird-colonels. They'll huddle periodically for strategy sessions, but I can't see Petraeus micromanaging the effort in AfPak with the entire CENTCOM region to deal with. (Let us not forget Iraq, as the Left has found it so convenient to do since Bammer's ascension. And Iran, and Syria, and Turkey, and Hezbollah. His plate is full even without AfPak.)

Tell me, how you could possibly construe that my father liked carter by my comments?  I didn't get conservative by accident, i remember all the nasty comments my parents made about bunny boy.  I don't remember having the feeling of impending doom then like i do now.  THAT was the reason for my question.

Posted by: bebe's boobs destroy at June 23, 2010 01:56 PM (cniXs)

I didn't mean to imply that your Dad LIKED Carter.  I was addressing this:

"It was only the economy under Carter, while this marxist is trying to destroy our entire way of life."

Posted by: bebe's boobs destroy at June 23, 2010 01:39 PM (cniXs)

I was simply pointing out that Carter's damage went well beyond "only the economy."  Your Dad was thinking about 20%-plus interest rates and 10%-plus inflation, the energy crisis and all of the other "malaise" that Carter brought about, but Carter was also responsible for foreign policy and defense policy disasters.  Believe me, we had a feeling of impending doom -- which, at the time, included a healthy fear of a nuclear war with the Soviets.

What's A-fib? Heart condition

Atrial Fibrilation is a cardiac arrythmia.  The upper chambers of the heart don't beat properly.  The danger of this is that blood can form clots that get stuck in the atrial appendages (the "cockles") of your heart which can potentially cause a stroke.  Perhaps Petraeus was just tired and deyhdrated (then I'd also be concerned about deep vein thrombosis--blood clots in the legs, especially if he had been on a long flight and didn't walk around).  These can result in a clot traveling to the lungs (pulmonary embolism) or to the head (causing a stroke if in the head).  He just didn't look right.

I can't believe that McCrystal caused all of this over the chance to take a couple of shots at Joe "BFD" Biden, Jim Jones and Richard Holborke.

It sounds like you're accepting the mainstream reportings' false premise of attributing remarks made by McChrystal's staff over drinks to McChrystal himself.  I agree even allowing that access to Rolling Stone shows poor judgement, but we should stick to the facts.

I still think the comments McChrystal personally made are not as bad as is being reported.  And while they were in themselves somewhat beyond the normal bounds, they may have been a failed attempt to answer the more subtle and effective back-stabbing Ambassador Eikenberry gave McChrystal.  McChrystal is the guy that Obama wouldn't meet with for any length of time, and he apparently has no backers in the White House except possibly, weakly, Hillary Clinton.  With Biden, Eikenberry and others publically trashing McChrystal's plan and not getting slapped down by Obama, and no line to Obama himself, McChrystal taking his own case to the public may have seemed like a worthwhile gamble.  (Which, if I'm not making this more complicated than it really is, still shows poor judgement in execution, i.e, Rolling Stone, I admit.)

193 Isn't that how things ran in the Viet Nam era. Johnson and then Nixon didn't fire enough generals. The generals had a bad habit of lying and covering up the situation there -- trying to turn a turd into a tea-rose. Westmoreland was the worst offender, but there were many others. That's partly why Nixon (stupidly) tried to run the bombing campaigns himself: he couldn't trust what his own generals were telling him, but felt that firing them would be bad politics and harmful to military morale. The undue deference to the military during the Johnson years was what started that whole mess -- in that war as in Iraq later it was the field-grade Lt. Cols. and Cols. who knew the score, not the general staffs. A lot of the decline in military effectiveness in the 1970's grew not only out of our Vietnam debacle, but also the lack of good officers -- the good ones were disgusted by the perfidy, and got out.

85  I think the big difference is that Lincoln gave McClellan a pretty loose tether all things considered (at least compared to this one); the one prerequiste was that his generals needed to win the war.  All things considered, Lincoln was suprisingly patient and lenient with McClellan.

This dust up over a damn magazine article was ridiculous -- I read it.  No, it wasn't a good thing -- but in light of everything else the precedent's response was remarkably petty.

Changing the RoE's should be job one for Petraeus.  Putting more troops in and unequivocally revoking his withdrawal timetable should be job one for Obama.

If all of that happens, Obama will have successfully handled his responsibilities regarding a problem he helped create - possibly for the first time since his birth.   Of course then it's up to Petraeus to make it all work from there.  I wish him and all those under his command all the best.

This morning the President accepted my resignation as Commander of U.S. and NATO Coalition Forces in Afghanistan. I've heard the LBJ tapes as he called his leading Congressional friends for advice whether or not to get involved in Viet Nam or to pull out what military "advisers" JFK left behind. They unanimously told him not to go over there. They told him there was no reasoning with the Communist Asians at that point, and that military involvement in Viet Nam would be a no win repeat of the Korean disaster. AS IF Johnson ever took any advice he asked for. Viet Nam didn't even end stale mated as in Korea. And Johnson certainly didn't bring any resolution to his war before leaving office. (What would HHH have done about it had he defeated Nixon?)

We can't ignore the 1970s huge social animosity against the war, mostly initiated because of the draft but quickly permeating EVERYTHING military to be evil. The lack of public support, the animosity from the public, definitely hurt our military's effectiveness. As you point out with the CYA brass always blaming subordinates, the good officers took baseless criticism coming and going, inside and out of the military.

What you say is correct, but for good, bad, or indifferent, the Jug-Eared Marxist can fire a military commander for almost any reason. It's a privilege that comes with the title. I have read the article, and McChrystal himself did not challenge Barky's authority in any way shape, or form. Unfortunately, we have a thin-skinned, narcissistic, egoist for a President, and he apparently didn't like McChrystal's staff bad-mouthing, however mildly, his people. You have to admit, saying Biden and having someone else pipe up "Did you say Bite-me? Haha!" isn't exactly the smartest thing to say in front of a reporter looking to score a hit piece on your boss.

I am not sure how this is going to work out. I hope well. Petreaus was successful in Iraq because Bush put his whole presidency behind him and Petreaus had McChrystal actually running the anti insurgency. Petreaus isn't going to have either of those things now.

The left hates Petreaus (general betrayus, movon.org) and alot of dem politicians didn't like him. I think that was mainly because he worked for Bush and was succeeding but it's hard to change your stripes.

It will depend on Petreaus's commitment to the effort and obama's commitment to him and the effort. I am not sure about either. I can't figure why Petreaus went along with a 1 year time line for withdrawl.

No disagreement there, but hey, Jimmuh Carturd was *still* better than Glug-Glug Drunk-Drunk crypto-marxist Teddy too. I am curious, however, if a feeble Obamunist presidency might trigger at least one serious primary challenger in 2012.

254 Changing the RoE's should be job one for Petraeus.

As if McChrystal was allowed to change the RoE's.

Obama is the CiC whose initial address to the military expounded their requirements to play nice and to simultaneously be everything that Afghans want and/or need, including the requirement to follow the Karzai 12 Rules of Engagement.

Initially, McChrystal was commanded by Obama to report how to win the Afghan War while submitting to Karzai's 12 Rules of Engagement. That's what McChrystal's report analyzed, including the 12 month time table utilizing immediately 40,000 more troops; all of which Obama never acquiesced.

Obama set McChrystal up for failure from the onset. McChrystal did his utmost for America while Obama did his utmost against America. Obama will not support Petraeus any better than he did McChrystal, though Obama may find new ways to sabotage our military along with ruining our former/traditional political alliances.

People keep saying this, but my understanding is that both McChrystal and Petraeus were supporters of these RoE.  Petraeus even jumped onto the "blame Israel" bandwagon with the Indonesian, which is chilling, to say the least.

258 When you resign from command you resign from the service. Yep. Officers are "commissioned" by the United States government and the President as CIC to hold their positions. If they resign their commission, then they in effect resign from the service. (There are nuances to that, however.) Non-coms cannot resign (though Warrants can, I think). You serve your term in whatever role the military designates until your term of service is up.

259 This is probably the best outcome we could expect to come out of this mess (having Petraeus in, I mean).

Does anyone know what McChrystal's duties are now or will he retire from active duty altogether?

Posted by: Y-not

No, not really. Unless Petraeus is enabled to proesecute this conflict, he'll simple be another placeholder at best, or scapegoat at worst. The fact that Obama vilified Petreaus earlier matters not to the MFM, not the fact that Obama reacted far swifter to McChrystals' negative remarks than his earlier requests to meet and confirm a plan of action. This is political damage control.

Some here have ascribed dark, conspiritorial motives to the actions of this Administration. Perhaps these are simply the actions, reactions and vengeful lashing out of any dense manager/principal/administrator/supervisor who is in over their head (writ large), and is bent on self -preservation and self enrichment to the exclusion of all else. What better way to explain delays over life jackets? Insisting upon lawsuits in the face of opposition?

270 So long as the premise for our military engagement in Afghanistan is to win the hearts and minds of the Afghans, things will continue on present course no matter which general Obama appoints.

The Taliban remain consistent, though America's relations with them changes with each election. It might be helpful to limit whatever strategy against Taliban aggression, rather than ping ponging attention between the Taliban and a ghost.

For many years now, the British Intelligence insists that al Qaeda is long gone, and now simply a bogeyman phantom that American politicians promote as still alive in order to perpetuate military engagement, and that foreigners claim identity with in order to gain international recognition.

Then again, it was the British Intelligence referencing Hussein's WMD in Iraq, which may well have been secretly transported to Syria for instance.

McChrystal's report commanded from Obama stipulated for Obama how the military would need to carry out Obama's adopted platform after election, to win Afghans' hearts and minds. How many Iraqi leaders did the US military go through while nation building there? Obama may order a change in Afghan leadership. Elections are no problem for the fraud in chief, nor any political backlash that can by remedied by a visit from a predator drone.

While this doesn't absolutely require to you to resign from the service, if you don't want your next duty station to be Officer in charge of polishing mess kits in Thule Greenland it is best to get out.

I haven't read every comment, but I see a few that agree with my take on the Rolling Stone article.  There was actually very little to it in terms of insubordinate comments towards Obama and company.  I read the article very thoroughly and it was classic Rolling Stone - the reporter took a few quotes from unnamed aides and used them to add to his characterization of McChrystal as a bad mouthed, arrogant SOB with a bad strategy.  Of the zillion words in the article about 99/100 of a zillion were critical of McChrystal and very little of it had anything to do with Obama at all.  About the worst thing that was said of him was that he seemed "not well prepared" when the two had their first meeting.

What's done is done, but it seems to me to be much ado about nothing if this article is all they've got to back this resignation/firing.

Think twice about that. A lot of us from the Vietnam era see perfectly well what perversions Obama conducts from the Oval Office. CONGRESS wouldn't stay out of micromanaging the Vietnam war, either. It's a shame Goldwater didn't beat LBJ in the electoral war between the doves and the hawks.

Obama was born after 1960, later than baby boomer tail end. His grandfather didn't even fight in WWII, just a long lost great-uncle whom Obama had never met. Obama and the Clintons belonged within the Ivy League Marxists bent on defending and promoting the SDS American student terrorists. Most certainly, not everyone back then agreed with Socialism or domestic violence, and even the MSM decried the SDS. But once the SDS kidnapped Patty Hurst, everything started changing in the black and white dichotomy of overlooking violent crimes in the media because, after all, she didn't really want to take part. GAG. At that point, all those idiots claiming "victim of society" and "in some way, we are all guilty of xyz" and "capital punishment is cruel and unusual" (and abortions are great) multiplied like StarTrek tribbles.

Require a report from Obama to use as political cover for the inevitable malleable changes in Obama's decision regarding what it was he said to get done in the first place. Petraeus should consider well establishing in advance exactly what details he is going over to accomplish and exactly what Obama is going to provide for the plan to work, announcing weekly press updates on Obama's support or lack thereof from Afghanistan.

I know people who have an issue with at least the "no standing" aspect of the Birther question who I don't taunt about it, but the idea that Pat's oath requires him to go full-throated birther on his CiC when he just handed him responsibility for thousands of lives of men and women he cares about in a war we need to win is fucking absurd and shows how single-issue, mom's basement crankcases shouldn't comment on adult blogs.

Well, I wouldn't say that.  It's a view.  One would imagine that a General has a more acute sense of the concepts of sovereignty and allegiance than the general public.  The whole general staff has already given in, fully, on the eligibility issue.  I don't see that as the problem, here (since they've already surrendered on that front) but it's not a big deal.

418 Picking Petraeus will enable Obama to say, "I'm in this to win it"....

Yeah, only after Obie unnecessarily diddled around for the past year and a half. How many senseless casualties did our forces suffer in that space of time?

What a dunce.

The blame for the loss of life and second guessing and public disunity because of people wondering if the man is truly a legitimate President lies at the feet of the Man who perpetuates the wondering, and could resolve it in an instant.

It is completely inappropriate for people in the Military to WONDER if their commander is really a legitimate commander. It is not inappropriate for those in the Military to DO the wondering, it is inappropriate for the commander to LEAVE them WONDERING.

To the extent he does this, all fallout should fall on him.

Is this serendipity, irony or shadenfreud. (sp)

422 Yes, then-Major General Petraeus commanded the 101st Airborne Division from 2002-2004. I was in the Division at the time.

No, I do not believe Mrs. Petraeus will allow GEN Petraeus to run for President. She was quoted "If he does run, he'll be doing it with his second wife." Plus, a lot of us who have served with the man do not believe he has it in him to abase himself before the electorate.

As for his passing out in front of Congress, he got up, ran nine or miles (he told me "over" when I told him the over/under on miles he ran was in DC's hot humid morning, skipped breakfast, and was sitting under TV lights in Class A's. He'd also been trying to get over a touch of the flu he'd picked up on his last trip to Afghanistan a week prior.

In any event, McChrystal and Petraeus both knew what they were being asked to do and who and what they were dealing with, back during the afghan troop surge stalling.  They both seemed very much at peace with that.

Posted by: progressoverpeace at June 23, 2010 12:29 PM (Qp4DT)

425 With a name like Stanley (Stanley???), McChrystal didn't fit the image that a bad-ass general should convey anyway. The untold story about Irwin (Oyving???) Rommel was that his own soldiers laughed him out of Africa. True story.

I'd say McC was never happy with the situation has demonstrated it by letting fly in the media even before the RS flap (e.g. at the time the troop surge was sought).  I'd hazard a guess that Petraeus isn't happy with his CiC but prefers to take the high road rather than trying to play politics with his commanders in a game where he's bound to lose.

All that being said, back to the subject at hand.  The idea that Obama's birth certificate isn't OT in this thread doesn't wash, particularly where 385 used it to impugn Patraeus' fidelity to the Constitution.  I agree that there should be some mechanism in place to verify the Constitutional requirements, but that's a different debate for a different thread, and has squat to do with Petraeus' fitness for command.

I understand where you're coming from and I'm not laying this at your feet.

Barging into an existing debate with "you guys are off base - you need to focus on my magic-bullet meta-important issue instead" is a classic conspiracy theorist tactic and 385's guilty as charged.

"naval pontification" - are we at sea now?

What other parts of the US constitution are now no-go areas?

The republican form of government clause, the seating and qualifications of members of Congress, the commission of executive officers, impeachment procedures, the President's authority over foreign affairs, particularly the President's powers to abrogate treaties and commit troops, the means of determining an amendment's validity, a handful of other things, these are all off limits to the courts.

Think about it.  An unelected body of 9 people cannot take upon itself to oust an elected president of the United States.  It's not a standing question, really, it's one of prudence, and the judges in this country get an easy out with standing.

We're talking about an imbedded flaming liberal writer from Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone! And McChrystal and his staff didn't have sense enough to realize that the writer was there to do a hit piece that would undermine McChrystal's efforts to win that war??? Their stupidity is mind-boggling. I'm incredulous. That was a more than sufficient reason to fire McChrystal ..., and his staff of blabbermouths, too.  What a bunch of bumbling, incompetent, damned fools.

That was just one in a series of their recent outrageous blunders, another of which led to the exposure and murder of upper echelon, secret CIA operatives, as you may recall.  I swear, this has become a country of gossipy busybodies.

264  Petraeus even jumped onto the "blame Israel" bandwagon with the Indonesian

I don't remember any particular comments he made, so can't opine directly.  CENTCOM has responsibility for the Middle East - Israel is in EUCOM.  Petraeus deals with Arab leaders on a daily basis, so has to put on the political face to do so.  In his position, it's understandable to shortchange the Israelis.

No one will disagree that air Jordan high heels  make a person look good. They can add a touch of class to a simple outfit like jeans and a tee shirt and turn it from a casual look to an outfit suitable for an evening out. Heels are also the best bet for short and full-length skirts, since they enhance the overall shape of the outfit. They are also integral to a working woman's attire. For example, a pair of air Jordan high heel boots  is a great complement to a good quality suit.
