For Congress: One Grimm Marine for NY-13 (Staten Island)
— Ace

Michael Grimm, Superhero. Check this bio out:

UNITED STATES MARINE

Michael Grimm's service to our nation began at the age of nineteen, when he left college after his freshman year and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve the country that he loves and respects. After serving in the Persian Gulf War and being awarded a Combat Meritorious Promotion to Non-Commissioned Officer, Grimm returned as a combat veteran to an active reserve status and continued his education.

FBI OFFICER/U.S. DEPUTY MARSHAL

While attending college full time during the day, Grimm went to work as a clerk for the FBI on the midnight shift. After a short time, Grimm was chosen to attend the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center where he completed the Federal Police Officer Training Program graduating with the honor of both the Academic and Physical Fitness awards for his class. Upon returning from training, Grimm was deputized as a U.S. Marshal and entrusted with full arrest authority as a Uniformed Police Officer for the FBI.

FBI SPECIAL AGENT TAKING ON WALL STREET CORRUPTION & ORGANIZED CRIME

With a desire to diversify his background, Grimm left the FBI for a Research Analyst position on Wall Street working for Harmonic Research and, later, the firm of Robb, Peck, McCooey. In a short time, Grimm attained several securities industry licenses and traded small cap stocks. During this period, Grimm attended Bernard M. Baruch College at night to further his education. Upon graduating with his BBA in Accountancy with a concentration in Finance, Grimm felt the pull of public service and returned to the FBI where he was appointed a Special Agent and assigned to the New York Office. Although he was assigned to investigate the Gambino Crime Family in the prestigious Organized Crime Branch, Grimm eventually found his niche fighting corruption on Wall Street as a member of the Financial Fraud Squad. While serving on the Fraud squad, Grimm was recognized for excellence and awarded a "QSI" for his untiring work ethic and dedication to serving justice.

ACCOUNTANT & LAWYER

During his service in the FBI, Grimm wanted to compliment his accounting degree with a law degree and attended New York Law School at night, eventually graduating in the top 10 of his class with honors (Magna Cum Laude). Special Agent Grimm was then admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut.

UNDERCOVER FBI AGENT TACKLING CORRUPTION IN POLITICS & BEYOND

It was during his tenure with the Fraud Squad that Grimm started his undercover career, resulting in him being the first FBI Agent to successfully infiltrate Wall Street Operation Wooden Nickel was arguably one of the most successful White Collar undercover investigations in the history of the FBI. As part of the investigation, Grimm maintained a deep undercover role as a hedge fund manager for almost two years while obtaining evidence against more than 50 individuals committing frauds spanning the spectrum from stock manipulation and currency scams to money laundering. Grimm was once again honored by being awarded his second "QSI".

After establishing a reputation as a reliable, "go-to" undercover agent, Grimm was enlisted to investigate corrupt politicians in New Jersey, corrupt police officers in Florida, and various other cases often as the lead undercover agent. Living the lives of a "made" member of La Cosa Nostra, a nefarious land developer, a struggling actor/model, a corrupt Wall Street financier, an international money launderer and other personas, Grimm relentlessly fought corruption and served our country proudly.

Oh and then he went on to become a small business owner, opening a health food restaurant, which I would usually say sounds kinda stupid, but I'm not going to say that now because this guy would bend me up and transform me like Megatron.

Are you fucking kidding me?!! He's a Marine and an undercover agent? This guy makes Batman look like Niles Crane.

And he's running in Staten Island, which is conservative leaning. So this is eminently doable. His donation goal, up on his site, is a mere $50,000. Fifty thousand dollars! In the most expensive advertising market outside of Tokyo!

He's endorsed by the Conservative Party of NY, too, which is pretty bright red for NY. So he's not screwing around.

This is from the Daily News:

What makes the race in the 13th so compelling, and such a bellwether for the nation, are its unique qualities. The district is composed of Staten Island and the Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights and Gravesend sections of Brooklyn. It’s solidly Republican, a minority in this overwhelmingly blue state, deeply religious and conservative — Planned Parenthood just opened its first office on Staten Island last month.

The seat Michael McMahon holds has historically belonged to a Republican, but the twin boons of Obama fever and predecessor Vito FossellaÂ’s spectacular flame-out contributed to a landslide victory in 2008 (he won with 61% of the vote)...

[Grimm] challenger is a 40-year-old novice who won his primary without party backing.

Damn I was planning to do GOTV for Murray in VA-8 but I might have to try to get this guy in there too.

New York City Morons! Hey, I'm thinking of maybe trying to arrange a Wednesday night GOTV thing, maybe Thursday night, with bar after... let me know if you're interested or available those days.

Oh, Bonus: This McMahon guy? Not a fan of the Jews and their dirty Jew-shekels.

But in an effort to show that Grimm lacks support among voters in the district, which covers Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn, the McMahon campaign compiled a list of Jewish donors to Grimm and provided it to The Politicker.

The file, labeled "Grimm Jewish Money Q2," for the second quarter fundraising period, shows a list of over 80 names, a half-dozen of which in fact do hail from Staten Island, and a handful of others that list Brooklyn as home.

"Where is Grimm's money coming from," said Jennifer Nelson, McMahon's campaign spokesman. "There is a lot of Jewish money, a lot of money from people in Florida and Manhattan, retirees."

PS, the guy's begging for $50,000 a week before the election. From what I've heard of this "Jewish Money" Ms. Nelson speaks of, that's not "a lot" of it. That's not even what they spend on phylacteries and dreidls in a given week.

Added the EventBrite Notice: Right now it's just all TBD but sign up if interested. I'll call Grimm's people soon to find out what they need and where.

8 Ace, please do.  I was planning to do some GOTV for them this week.  Would love to have your company...I walked about a mile last week to introduce myself at their HQ--plan to be at Grand Central for Dioguardi this week, late afternoon, but the NY-13 race seems more hopeful.

Small quip:
"What makes the race in the 13th so compelling, and such a bellwether for the nation, are its unique qualities."

Logically, the above makes no sense.  If the district is unique, then the outcome of the race can't be a bellwether.  Actually, the district is only unique in the sense that it's an NYC district that's not uber libtard; it's not a unique district from a national, or even state-wide perspective.

48 OT:  Speaking of crazy, Randy Quaid and his wife Evi are on the lam in Canada and seeking political asylum to avoid being returned to the US to face vandalism charges.  Evi explains:

"Evi Quaid begged a Canadian immigration adjudicator not to force them to return, saying on Friday that eight friends, such as actors David Carradine and Heath Ledger, have been "murdered" under mysterious circumstances and she's worried something will happen to her husband next.

"We feel our lives are in danger," she said."

Evi is confusing crazy-assed Hollywood hedonism with mysterious murder conspiracies.  I don't know whether she been doing any David Carradine-ing but I'd be will to bet she done plenty of Heath Ledgering.

Tell you what, Randy, Evi, get back to me when you are not batshit crazy.

86 The disinformation war is full on

As I wrote earlier, my guess is that none of the pollsters know what's going on, but they can't admit that--to stay in business.  So they move the sample dial to the left (more Dems), and move some other dial until they get a result that seems plausible; that makes it close, or "like last time."

By the way, my guess is that more people on the libtard side have money to pay pollsters, so there's an incentive to use samples sympathetic to libtards... kind of like there's very little money out there to disprove climate change, so all the researchers are pro-climate change.

87 This is my district Mostly Italian and a lot of Russian speaking immigrants from former USSR. Obama approval rating in Russian speaking community is 19% I think Grimm will win. Last week I got call from McMahon campaign with question about election  They sound pretty much desperately.

I think Grimm needs help in Brooklyn.  I am on his mailing list, and the one or two big events he has had have been on Staten Island.  (I gently pointed this out when I visited last week.)

Do you have eligible sisters?

91 and a lot of Russian speaking immigrants from former USSR.

Is there another kind?

Seriously, as Prager says often: why do you want to vote for the people who will take this country in the direction of the one you fled?  This is true for all kinds of immigrants; or really, all immigrants!

92 Another $100 in Djouish money to Grimm.

Posted by: BornLib at October 25, 2010 03:21 PM (zpNwC)

93 O/T:  ok so I'm getting discouraged.  This morning Beck, the only program I've listened to all day, told a story about being out to dinner with friends and having them tell him "I'm not sure I'm going to vote" and then have his wife say at the same time something about it not making a difference since they are going to cheat anyway.  Pat his sidekick had a similar experience with his friends.  Beck said he thought his staff was playing a joke on him and he was looking for the hidden camera and he was horrified when he found out that wasn't the case.

So then I'm thinking how I don't really discuss politics with my friends and family but someone approached me today and said they had read an article on politico and the article made a lot of sense and that the dems were going to win.  This was one of my two conservative friends, not the black conservative.  He said he thought this was in the bag and then he realized that fox and rasmussen are the only ones polling in favor of the republicans and that everyone else is saying the dems are going to win.

I told him "well politico has become a very liberal/dem site, the state owned media as rush would say, only on the blogsphere.  But, no matter what I said, he said he was worried.  He said, "if every single republican doesn't make it their business to vote, we are in trouble."  He also said he has gotten two emails from conservative/republican sites about voting and twenty emails in the last three days from BO and his buds asking him to vote and "give them a chance".   He felt the two emails from the republicans/conservatives weren't enough to counteract the twenty from the dems/libs.

He said he believes we will be up all night only to find out at 9 am that the dems are still firmly in power and then he said the republicans will just roll over.  He said no matter how close it is they won't fight it, they'll accept the results even if they know there was cheating "for the good of the country".

Honestly, this is a hardcore, going to the conservative convention person.  If he is saying this and he said "geez a month ago I thought this was in the bag, now I realize we never really had a chance"....then what are regular people who dont' read blogs and only get their news form CNN and MSNBC and regular news and the papers that are left, thinking?

Please don't get angry with me.  I had to share this conversation as it got me really upset.

94 I've donated all my comic book and liquor money to Bielat, Grimm, McClung, Robinson, Tran, West, and the Senate Conservatives fund.

95 BTW those "Russians" in his district also happen to be Jewish (vast majority).  I happen to be one of those and you already know who my family and I are voting for.

96 #100, there's so much room in Brooklyn to create conservative gerrim (Hebrew word for converts)!  Please do some GOTV work, both now, and in the future.  And thanks for chiming in here.

You tell him that's what the dems want him to think, and if he falls for it he's just doing what they want.   Tell him to "Man up"!

yeah I sort of did say that but not so direct but he was saying that his buds are getting discouraged and that he thinks the republicans will stay home and try to screw the tea party people....I felt like my head was going to explode after that one so i left.

Grimm Reaper?

Posted by: Jane D'oh at October 25, 2010 04:45 PM (UOM48)

104 Grimm's biggest problem is that tool Vito Fossella and the band of Suckers of Cock he installed in the local GOP hierarchy. They refuse to lift a finger because they can't stand the idea that Guy Molinari--who built the GOP machine they inherited--is Grimm's rabbi and wiped them out in the primary. They took their ball and went home.

Nice. But it contains his name.  Doesn't that rule out part of the code name?

Maybe just "Reaper"

...been on the MICHAEL GRIMM bandwagon since I first met him at the protest in lower Manhattan against the KSM trial being held in NYC last 18 months ago...he impressed me right from the start by his hand shake and when he looked me right in the eye and said; "I'm MICHAEL GRIMM and I'm running for Congress..."

...other then voting every year myself and my wife have never been involved in politics...now we are out knocking on doors every chance we get asking for people to support MICGAEL GRIMM for Congress...

Thanks for the support Ace...

110 Awesome. Ace, please don't forget about Murray in VA 8 - he needs all the help he can get right now. Phone banked for him earlier this week... didn't get a single supporter in two hours (though I was told to go f*k myself). Moran has got to go.

111 I was born in the military hospital on Staten Island NY in 1945.  Two months later I moved to Iowa.  I hope a lot more military personal run for office and that former and active military personnel invade the voting boxes.
