— Dave in Texas Former Obama advisor, Clinton Sec. of Labor and Berkely Prof. Robert Reich blames the 94 thrashing of Democrats on the usual suspects (the circa 2010 ones).
Even worse, by that time the Dems had lost the House and Senate. Washington was riding a huge anti-incumbent wave. Right-wing populists were the ascendancy, with Newt Gingrich and Fox News leading the charge. Bill Clinton thought it desperately important to assure Americans he was on their side.
Which is a pretty nifty trick, since that was almost two years before Fox's first broadcast.
"Right-wing anger" is like the awesomest force ever.

Is there such a thing as rightwing populism? Scott Brown's victory is credited to Brown's 'conservative populist message.'
Conservative an populist, at least in my world, seem contradictory. When I think of populism I think of things associated with socialism, feel-good clap-trap, and class warfare. To me, conservatism is anti-populism.

It's a causality loop! Fox News has become so powerful, they now have the ability to bend time and space to their liking. That's how they went back to 1994 to influence the elections and bring about their own existence!
Imagine Julie Banderas back in 1994. What was she back then, like 19? OMG! I'm getting excited just thinking about it.

There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the rest of eternity, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to... The Outer Limits of Fox New!

Patterico has a really interesting post up about the James O'Keefe arrest..
...it looks like nothing but an attempt by him and his buddies to show that Landrieu's office was avoiding taking calls..she claims that there lines were jammed and no one could get through..indeed, when tried, all one got was a busy signal
...the affadavit does not say there was attempt to bug the phones...and they had no equipment to do so..
...the affadavit does say one of the four had a "listening device" blocks away...or as the rest of the world calls it...a cell phone...
O'Keefe was there with his own phone recording everything...and it all happened at the receptionist's desk..the speculation is...and it's looking more and more like this is the case is that they were trying to show that Landrieu had the phone system set to make it seem that it was constantly busy..that they had the guy outside call..and they were going to video at the same time to show that there were actually available lines...they still use those little blinky lights on the phone to show when a line is in use..
This kid is a fucking genius...I think this will come around to bite Landrieu, the other Donkeycrats..and especially the media in the ass
It took them months to report on ACORN..but seconds to report his arrest

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith
And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around St. Petersberg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the Czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a general's rank
When the Blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
What's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the Gods they made
I shouted out
"Who killed the Kennedys?"
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadors
Who get killed before they reached Bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Fox News
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game,

Interestingly he was too short to be an astronaut. You didn't know that he tried to be an astronaut? Well, he didn't. But he was too short nonetheless.
He didn't say he was in Vietnam. He said he was too tall. He probably read somewhere that he would had been too tall. You are just meant to infer that he was there. Libs use this little trick all the time.
Now what was the definition of "is" again? I keep forgetting.

BTW, his height is caused by a disease that also caused him to have to have both hips replaced. The guy might be a nutcase, but I think comments about his height are rather bad form.

I was just discussing multiple worlds theory with my son, this is a classic example, you see Reich knows that there is an alternative universe out there where Fox News existed in 1994, he just got momentarily confused which universe he is currently inhabiting.
But, the upshot of this is, Fox News was always inevitable.

Fox News bombed Pearl Harbor.
Ok maybe Fox news did most of the shit everyone here is claiming they did including messing with Bill Buckner's glove; but they didn't bomb Pearl Harbor. The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor.

Progressive logic 101: Just because something did not happen does not mean it should not have happened. Saying it happened, over and over, makes it so. Accept no challenge to this reality-based belief. Haters always rain on a parade; only see the rainbow. Peace. Out.

It's so deep in the pudding of Robert Reich's mind, he thinks it kicked his ass before it even started fighting.
