They have Drew Brees as QB, one of the most respected and liked QBs. Why not just go with stuff about him instead of some friggin' storm from however many years ago?

Yes. The intro to MNF (that Gifford narrates) was all Katrina.
The only thing that keeps me interested in the Saints is Drew Brees. I try to block out the Katrina crap.

It would be nice if the 112th Congress addressed the rationales the CBO is required to use to produce estimates. In particular, they have to use static analysis for legislative impacts. This like saying that if a business raises the price of a product, the only effect is to increase their profit margin. Somehow ignored is the loss of sales because now their competition can attract their customers away with lower prices.
This is the mechanism by which OBoobieCare was punched through via reconciliation.
Fuck you 111th.

To put it simply, they stop listening. They are like Homer Simpson. You talk about anything requiring attention, and they start thinking of doughnuts.
If we want to inform the "mushy middle" we are going to have to make our arguments in some entertaining fashion. It's that simple.

As for FOX, I've leapt off the "Krauthammer is a genius" bandwagon, but he did have a great point this evening in the debate about whether defunding ZeroCare is the best way to go. The Kraut says no, because the stuff contained in the bill is so egregious that he thinks the Repubs calling for hearings/the news getting out will cause an even greater public outrage than there already is (e.g., the news of the death panels being implemented by fiat).
He also pointed out that the herky-jerky funding that's able to start the implementation will cause such a clusterfark that the dems will come out with the "See, see how those bad Republicans screwed up healthcare for all you seniors!" meme.
On the other end of the desk, Steve Hays advised aggressively defunding as well as loudly calling attention to the awful stuff that's going to come out in dribs and drabs and making the case for increased outrage.

That's a serious question? What is "the economy"? Unemployment? Private Sector Unemployment? GDP? Trade ratios? DIJA?
I mean what the hell? Why not ask if the country is awesomer?
Oh, and please, please, please I want to see a survey of the question, "Coalition forces found WMDs in Iraq - true or false?"

This whole stupid study was based on the info one would get from MSLSD. If you believe all that shit & the shit put out by the WH on whateve, you would do well on the study.
If you got even half-ass unbiased info, and had half a brain cell you would fail their study.
So, in other words, if you are informed on the issues & not a braindead moonbat you are misinformed.

Anyway, great video, but too long for most liberals' attention spans. Besides, it fits their favorite meme that Fox viewers are misinformed. Even though I get my news from other sources than Fox, all the lib I'm talking to has to hear is that I do watch Fox news and it refuse to listen to anything I have to say.

Since global climate change is the cause of hot or cold weather, dry or wet weather, or in fact any weather event, it can't be proved false.
It is, however, no more science then the belief that a spiteful earth goddess is the cause of such events as falsifiability is a core component of science.

But it might have a better chance at going viral if they could use "the Bernank" Bears. Seems like full color cartoon characters might hold Rachel Maddow's audience for a wee bit longer.

very good video. Try to get a liberal to sit still long enough to watch it, though. Maybe if you give him/her/it a glass or two of good wine.
Maddow is a cdunt: the Chamber of Commerce didn't offer any evidence that they DIDN'T use foreign funds. Did cduntcow offer any evidence that they did?
And some bim on Fox w Tucker Carlson a little while ago insisting that climate has been stable until recently: Carlson tried to get into this but she wouldn't tolerate any interference. Also later the dem strategist who said that climate temps have been rising for the past 150 years (no one asked him about the little ice age scare of 1975.)

The truth simply does not matter to liberals. They don't care. All they care about is that "some study says Fox viewers are the most misinformed! LOL!" It doesn't matter that the methodology behind the study was flawed. Hell, I'm a little surprised there was even a study at all. The result would be the same if you just made shit up.
Facts and truth don't matter to liberals, and fighting them with facts and truth is a waste of time. We need to play by their rules: make shit up, throw it out there, and then completely ignore all attempts to refute it.
Here, I just did a study: MSNBC viewers are 65% less likely to have a satisfying sex life than FOX viewers. I totally made that up. Now start Tweeting it around, and somebody type up a press release.
If they gather data and do a rebuttal, ignore them. From this moment until the end of time it is a known fact that MSNBC viewers have unhappy sex lives. The science is settled.

It has become a truism, nobody even listens, it's just "known" and people go on as if it weren't because it's a HUGE drag on EVERYTHING.
It's like carrying around a hobo on your back everywhere, and he throws banana peels down in your way all the time.

They are preaching to the choir.
P.S., Along with this is Gallup's new conclusion that America finds Barack Obama to be America's Most Admired Man. Lol, they sure as hell didn't poll anyone I know because, with the exception of one liberal girl I know (who is so hot I put up with her), everyone I have spoken to in the past year despise him.

Of course the results are nonsensical.
And I do worry because it's all wasted energy dealing with a bunch of ignorant buffoons and damned liars. There are too many of them to just ignore them, I wish we could.

My kid actually brought home that POS report quite recently. A little gift from her AP government teacher in high school. I read it, and thought it was unbelievably lame. First, I spotted what they spoke of late in this clip: that Fox has never reported that Obama was Kenya-born, so listeners believing that is clearly not from Fox misinforming them.
Second, there was an item on climate change. I'm not even sure how I'd answer that myself, it's so vague! Does the climate change? Sure, I guess! But the main issue is whether there is a warming trend that has been caused by human industrial activity. There's plenty of controversy about that, so calling somebody "misinformed" if they go one way or the other is an obvious political statement. But they didn't even ask that.
Even on questions about the economy, they're kind of vague. I'd say that the economy is usually judged by the GDP, and so is modestly improving, but not everybody would. The recovery is weak, and so the big issue is unemployment, which is not only bad, but has stayed really bad for a historic duration (probably because of Obamacare).
If these guys are going to judge whether somebody is misinformed about something, it should be about something specific, and something where there is a straightforward, nonpartisan answer. So many liberals are so far off from reality that they don't even consider themselves liberal (in part because that has a bad connotation) - they just tune into NPR, read the NYT, and think they're "normal".
Oh, and never mind that the survey was done by Big Government employees, whose "facts" support the Big Government cause.
Oh, and the teacher also had a handout singing the praises of Sen. Sanders, for his principled and unwaivering stand on things. Gee, that'd be great if his principles didn't reflect the fact that he's the Senate's first-ever acknowledged socialist.

Couldn't he have made his point in a simply worded phrase of 25 words, or less?
Geezez, I'm sitting here saying, what????
Posted by: Brian at December 28, 2010 05:45 AM (sYrWB)
We're misinformed because we don't believe in fairy tales like AGW and "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you."
The truly sad part is that whenever one of the fairy tales finally collapses from a load of reality, the libtards run after the next one while putting the last one down the memory hole. Go back and ask them about the New Ice Age of the 70's. You'll get blank looks. It'll be the same with AGW and national health care in the not too distant future.

The study was funded by organizations such as the Ben and JerryÂ’s Foundation, the Ploughshares Fund, the United States Institute of Peace, and the George Soros-backed Tides Foundation. Ramsay, Kull, Lewis, and Subias are nothing more than academic whores.

When Joe Klein wrote the same kind of "misinformed Fox viewers" shit in Newsweek, I posted this in the comments:
We "misinformed" voters know enough about the damage done to our economy and national security by Obama's socialist autocracy without Fox News pointing it out.
Obama's talking points myrmidons remind me of the old Soviet propaganda machine; spouting the virtues of communism while the proletariat stood in long lines for toilet paper.

@ 82, Brian
I'm with you there except I'm thinking, this won't be that effective a rebuttal if only 2% of the people in the country can understand what the hell he's saying.
But there's an important point here. Frequently the crap that liberal intellectualloids pull is so convoluted that the average MOR schmo can't necessarity understand the enormity of it. So in a sense you haven't exposed anything
Or the thing you expose is so deranged you yourself come off as a nutcase by trying to expose it.
