I don't care how many pop-up pictures of Nancy Pelosi you have. I'm not sending you any money until you pull your head out yo' ass.
Anxiously awaiting your acknowledgment that the possibility exists that conservatives could retake Congress this year,

Maybe she was announcing that she is the anti-cute.

7 Joy Behar said this morning that the people of Katrina were forsaken.
Maybe she was announcing that she is the anti-cute.
Where was Behar and her liberal friends before Katrina hit? New Orleans was a cesspool long before Katrina.

It's obvious, they were waiting for evil corporate entities to open their deep pockets or get the hell sued out of them just like Barrio Bomber said he woulda coulda shoulda.

The GOP should do an ad on the lavishness of the 2009 Dems.
Gateway has an article up right now that there were on average, parties at the WH every three days. That is insane. Create an ad that shows the unemployment lines, then show BO in a tux. Show lines at the food banks and juxtapose that with more clips of formal wear by Lady O h my God is she wearing another belt?! and people will get the picture.

Almost seems like a Daily Show parody of an anti-Democrat ad. That's how it would play for the hipsters.
But probably effective for normal folk, and humor is usually a good device.

I really don't want to see the GOP shaping any strategy for the mid-terms until at least June.
Besides keeping the GOP out of the way of the democrats as they self-destruct, there is no way to predict how bad the mood will be in November.
If the GOP starts doing leadership-y things right now, then any national platform will probably be more moderate than it needs to be. This would also give the democrats a lead on shaping a strategy.
The GOP needs to fight every point it can against the Obama/Reid/Pelosi agenda, but the economy is going to get worse regardless of what the GOP in Congress do because the steps needed to prevent this deterioration are outside the Obama/Reid/Pelosi realm of political possibility.
If the opposition platform is shaped by how bad things are when the national-level campaign starts taking form, then the platform can range in intensity from "counter it" to "walk it back" to "SHUT IT DOWN, NOW!" I know which one I want.
One other thing: It's safe for the GOP to run on pure demagoguery in 2010 because even the maximum possible reversal in seats is well short of the optimal checks and balances.
