— LauraW Steve in Florida:
Sanchez is one of those people whose success is a mystery. When he was a local reporter here in Miami, people made fun of him all the time because he clearly was not bright. He stood out, even among local news people, as unusually dense, and his ego problems were also hard to miss.
Go to Steve's site to see two hysterical clips of Sanchez gaudily flaunting his retardation. Laughed, cried, part o' me, etc.

Sanchez is one of those people whose success is a mystery.
Sanchez never had any real success, that is, a large following of people who actually wanted to watch him. All he had was the faux success of certain elements of MSM pushing him, and they did that for the usual reasons having to do with race/ethnicity.
CNN has had plenty of maroons working for them, not the least of which is that boob who now is on ABC's Sunday show. And the race panels and race programs that they air every other day are filled with lame-brains blowhards.
So Sanchez was perfect for CNN.

In fact he reminds me a little of Osama Obama, too, for exactly the same reason, minus the TV shit.

Disparaging people who don't look and talk like you is standard fare for the right wing, and the latest example of that bias is the Rick Sanchez case.
One of the best shows on CNN was the Jesse Jackson political show, but it was canceled due to right wing pressure on the CNN board and managing director.
We must band together to defeat this right wing cabal who hate black and brown people because they look different.

I'm with Rick Sanchez on hating a few Joo's. Only yesterday I was in Katz's deli in Manhattan, and the Joo putz only put a child's portion of corned beef on my san'wich. Just another prick Joo.

Seriously, though. It must be a real slow news week when making fun of Rick freakin Sanchez leads the blog on Friday and Saturday.
This is a good thing.

Idiot on Fox just now; Obama wanted to lower State taxes and Republicans opposed it.
How in the hell does this idiot expect people to believe that?

Easy. There are still plenty of people out there who -- with the help of the MFM -- still eat the peanuts out of Osama Obama's shit.
Tell them the Dems, whom they looooove -- are looking out for them and they nod in unison and raise their eyes to the Heaven from which the Mohammedan Mouthpiece descended.
Just remember that lots of people -- wealthy and influential people among them -- think Gloria Allred mopped the floor with that right-wing witch Greta last night.

I've never watched Ricky before the thread below. I'd heard he was douchy, but not really dumb. I remember thinking that the other clip could be interpreted as him just being facetious at a bad time, not necessarily that he was dumb.
After watching these two clips of this clown, I'm sorry for giving him the benefit of the doubt. CNN: Where Diversity Trumps Performance

I remember the first debates over affirmative action in the early 70s. The main argument against it was that it would result in incompetent and unqualified people being hired, promoted, and advanced. We were assured that this wouldn't happen.
Yeah.

Probably heard of him but no idea who he is. Don't for-profit broadcasting companies ever think that you're supposed to have people who will bring in an audience? Or do people like Olbermann have a legacy and pay the company a weekly salary? Obvioulsy I'm an oldfeeler who can't bellyfeel obamasoc.

The right wing is all aglow this morning believing my civil conversation with Greta Van Susteren was something it was not.
I presented the factual evidence and Ms. Susteren all but agreed with my analysis of the immoral and unjust position that Meg Whitman placed my poor client Nicky.
All the bravado and divisive comments coming from conservatives who hate brown people will be displayed on Fox News today, but progressives will understand my love for Nicky and her family, and my strong desire to see justice served by denying Meg Whitman the governorship of California.

That said, what he said about Stewart and Jews in general was absolutely correct. In no real sense do they have any claim to discrimination or victimhood in America today. They are the most powerful and wealthy ethnic cohort in America and have a huge number of players in the media industry. For Jews to bring up the Holocaust and somehow equate it with the occasional WASP country club that excluded Jews some 50-100 years ago is beyond ridiculous. The European/Nazi Holocaust has nothing to do with the place of Jews in America today and whether or not they are victims, which they are clearly not. It's also obvious that it wasn't Sanchez's overall incompetence but being publicly truthful and candid about what everyone knows is true about Jews in the media is what got him fired.
Sanchez made the mistake of speaking the unspeakable truth that everyone knows. Plus, it's obvious, Stewart gets under his skin to an incredible degree and he temporarily forgot a rule that everyone in the media (who wants to keep their jobs) never forgets.
If you want to know who has real power in society, ask yourself who cannot be criticized. It's not WASPs, Republicans, white people, evangelicals, Christians, gunowners, Texans, or a great many other objects of venom by the new multiculti establishment.

Being that he was a pretty well-known news anchor in the community, I got a little tense, remembering the time I worked at "Beverly Hills Cafe" and waited on meteorologist and Hurricane Andrew savior Bryan Norcross and his boyfriend. I was subjected to a diva tantrum when their salads were mistakenly brought out containing tomatoes. Sanchez also had a reputation as an egomaniac and a loudmouth.
Surprisingly, he was gracious to the point of magnanimity, despite the long wait, my lousy service, and the crap food that was the standard fare at that chain. He was one of the nicest customers I can remember during my short life was a waiter.

I live in Miami and remember when Rick Sanchez was the anchor for WSVN Channel 7 back in the 1990s.
While he may very well be a great and decent fellow IN PERSON, I also remember how many people were struck by the seemingly "Ted Baxter"-ish sanctimonious tone which he exhibited periodically. I even recall the female hosts of the local program Deco Drive mildly joking about his overseriousness.
But most of all, I recall a common joke about his apparent egotism: "Why is his name pronounced 'Rick'? Because the 'P' is silent."
