Gibbs Squirms Under Questioning About "DemonPass"
— Ace

Good questioning here.

Samantha Guthrie of NBC contends heroically to get an answer out of this fat sick of giggly shit, but he evades and evades.

A CNN reporter, Ed Henry, also tries to get a straight answer. FAIL.

Thanks to justkarl for the last clip.

Of course people are concerned about the process. The process of how a bill in enacted is fundamental to democracy. In violating said process, you violate the Constitution and what this Republic stands for.

9 Why didn't any of the press call Gibbels a lying sack of shit, though?  They didn't even use the word "lie".

I was happy to see a little bit of pushback, but considering that this is a coup in progress, I found the questioning still far too tame.  And this is an attempted coup.

I am also saddened that no one in the press had the wherewithall or brains to bring up the Honduras situation, as it is an eerie parallel to what we are seeing, except that Honduras had most of its government trying to save its Constitution, not destroy it as ours is working hard towards.

It's amazing this is still a huge blog with a huge readership, when you think about the limitations.  The content and writing is always interesting and novel, aside from a lot of hot air overlap.  It's a great blog I read every day.

But why hold itself back?  It would be great if this blog would permit normal freaking hyperlinks and fix its other few hassles.  Comment threads are where people come together to hype other links, make arguments, build stories virally.  You have a hard time doing that here, and I think it has really reduced the quality of this 'community'.  Like I said, I'm a fan of the blog and think it must be pretty special to grow with this flaw in place.

I know this is a different issue from someguy's that the video doesn't work (there are reliable video hosting services, ya know).  But a link is the essential factor in the internet, so if I paste a URL into this comment, it shouldn't fail.  I know there are workarounds, but they are really stupid.

And here are 10 reasons why:

That would only be an issue for displayed text.  The length of links in actual hyperlinks whose addresses aren't displayed wouldn't make a difference either way.  I can understand the restriction of long lines that are displayed (though that also shouldn't be a problem as the comment divs should have their overflow hidden, anyway) but I don't get it for the actual link addresses.

P.S. I really, really, really hate tinyurl.  I don't like clicking on them (because I don't know where they go) and I hate the whole idea of them.

But ... this isn't fatal.  Just a bit annoying.  I restrict my linking in comments, here, because of this.

I think the MSM business offices are finally waking up to the realization that the liberal-slanting shows aren't exactly big moneymakers.  CNN just hired Erick Erickson from RedState to be a talking head; if they're jumping on the Conservative bandwagon, the rest of the media can't be far behind (here's hoping).

That gal from NBC looks like a real go-getter; it's possible that she has figured out where the real action is going to be over the next couple of decades, and has decided to be at the forefront of this wave, making a name for herself.

Plus, if I'm not mistaken, many of the higher-ups at these media outlets are Jewish (I'm guessing - I live in Texas and couldn't tell you who is and isn't Jewish around these parts; it's never really been much of an issue, to be honest), and given what the Obambis have been saying and (not) doing regarding Israel lately, he hasn't exactly endeared himself to them....

This could get really interesting really fast.

If you want tip-jar money ... if you want the big advertising contracts ... if you want to be considered a player ... if you want to influence people ... you have to be able to write a post that at a minimum:

1) Gets the name of a major media personality correct
2) Incorporates a functional link.

88 If Ace is making rent and food, and happy about it, who are you to say he needs more?

I'm not saying he needs more. Again, I was responding to someone who asked if I had hit the tip-jar and I responded with some good reasons why I have not.

If Ace is satisfied to put up posts that don't get basic facts correct and don't contain a functional link and is able to pay his rent on that kind of performance ... more power to him.

I realize it's free to read this website. And it's worth the price of admission.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

90 since when is samantha guthrie a "major" media personality?

Posted by: Unclefacts, Meteor Summoner At Large at March 16, 2010 01:42 PM (erIg9)

91 "Yeah well this is the only blog that had a mass ball dipping as part of it's election night coverage."

And that's the sort of shit that tempts me to hit the jar from time to time.

Is that enough, though?

Not saying.

Just sayin'.

92 "... since when is samantha guthrie a "major" media personality?"

If they're on TV, they're influencing people.

And if we wish to take over the government from the Marxists who are now passing laws without even holding votes on them, we'd better understand at a minimum who the enemy propagandists are and be able to get their fucking names right.

That seems kind of basic to me.

The stakes seem kind of high to me.

"If they're on TV, they're influencing people."

Ehhhh, not always.  Have you seen the ratings for Joy Behar on HLN?  She is the television equivalent of a tree falling in the woods.

Posted by: reason griswold at March 16, 2010 01:50 PM (F26eZ)

95 someguy, you're an intelligent commenter and I agree that you have absolutely zero obligation whatsoever to send ace money.  But I've got to say that this:

5) This blog will ban you if you don't toe a certain line.

This is total BS.  Come on.

(By the way, if this degenerates into a bitch about this blog session, can we get a working Recent Comments sidebar?)

96 If they're on TV, they're influencing people.

if that's your methodology of determining that someone is a major media personality, then you might want to rethink your statement. I watch the news like a hound, never heard of her. she neither has the influence of a Major Garret, nor the influence of someone like Jake Tapper. She's at best third rate.

You using her as some kind of household name to bash on ace's loose shit, is weak at best.

Posted by: Unclefacts, Meteor Summoner At Large at March 16, 2010 01:52 PM (erIg9)

97 I haven't read the whole thread, but the argument Gibbs seems to be making is that folks will know where you stand on HC.  My question is then straight from Occam's razor.  If we already know, why not have a real vote by the constitutionally mandated process?

Also, Gibbs has womanly hands.

98 5) This blog will ban you if you don't toe a certain line.

this is flat out wrong. i.e. Honest Clod/Dum Dum/Ergy

these trolls hardly toe the line, and it took an act of insanity to get Dummy banned. for someone calling loose shit, this is pretty loose yourself.

Posted by: Unclefacts, Meteor Summoner At Large at March 16, 2010 01:58 PM (erIg9)

99 Not that there is anything wrong with womanly hands, as long as they are attached to a, you know, woman.

102 This fat sack of giggly shit is also an embarrassment to my alma mater. How this fuckwad is a Wolfpacker is beyond me. I'm inclined to think that he is a plant/mole from Chapel Hell and only went to NC State to embarrass my fine redneck university by being such a fucking joke as Teh Won's sock puppet. We ought to strip that fucker of his goddamn degree and make his sorry shit ass do it all over again in Tarhole land. Fuck him.

And #25, you are right about Dana Perino. Plus she is teh hawt.

104 Somedude -

Do you not understand the AoSHQ Lifestyle?

We discuss valu-rite & hobo-hunting here, for God sake!!

A few misspelled words and a broken link here and there are expected.

Perhaps you should start you own blog and show us all how it is supposed to be done!  Until then, I look forward to you continued comments on the issues presented.

Otherwise, please STFU.

105 someguy, I don't have any serious beef with you, aside from you lying about people being banned here for not toeing the line.  That's just dumb.

I don't give a shit that you don't give money, though if you don't give money your complaint is kinda weak.  In other words, you are getting this service for free, and whining like a baby about it.  I'm also complaining, but in a more constructive and honest manner.  You're saying 'this sucks'.  I'm saying 'this would improve this great site that I appreciate'.

You spin that around to 'how dare you demand my money!', but that's also dishonest.  Perhaps you're a great contributor.  A lot of good ones aren't here anymore, so I hope you don't leave too.  But the technical and editing fuck ups on this site don't change the fact that this site provides substantial original commentary, humor, and is worth a read daily.

106 Frankly, your beta routine really evokes Jeff Goldstein, or at least PW commenter.  I'm sorry the world isn't exactly as you want it, but it's possible to discuss it without being so distressed about things.

Everyone here is aware that the site could use a lot of improvement, and decides they like the content enough to deal with it.

Obama was NEVER going to sign anything that wasn't a goverment take over of Health Care money.  It's a power grab and Obama is a Marxist.   Marxists do not compromise.

I've been saying this here for over a year.

109 In the Ed Henry video, look in the background. Mara Liasson, who is from NPR but sometimes appears on Fox News, keeps making horrible faces every time Henry talks.

What a vile leftist bitch.

113 So, Gibbsie, you're just going to DISPENSE with the PROCESS of VOTING?

Because, after all, it's just a piddly-ass process.

God, what a tool. And I mean that in the worst possible way.

At least some of the lickspittle media are waking up to what's going on. More! Faster!
