Just spit out exactly what you want to say.  It's a question of citizenship, as it is with The Precedent.  The argument of the Founders' IDEAS (do you see that?  "IDEAS") on allegiance are to illustrate their thoughts in CITIZENSHIP as expressed in the terms laid down in the Constitution, which is the law.  "Natural born citizen" is a class of citizenship, whose membership requirements can be ascertained by reading IDEAS of allegiance that the Founders had otherwise expressed, as they had assumed knowledge of that term and THAT is the definition of it in the document.

So, address Rudy with respect to the citizenships he's held, and say exactly what you want without forcing ME to have to do this work because you are having problems holding up the silly side of an important argument.

Some years ago on some obscure cable outlets, there was such a thing as "National Empowerment Television", or NET.  It was supposed to be conservative/Republican TV.  They frequently had a hard time filling all their broadcast hours with anything good, but sometimes it was interesting.

It was founded by Paul Weyrich, and there were other conservative commentators on their, including......(drum roll)....Arianna Huffington!.

At that time (in the mid -90's), Arianna was still married to Samuel Huffington, who I think helped bankroll NET; hence, Arianna got to host several of the talk shows (Gergen was on there a lot, too. Echh!).

I actually got to call in and talk to Bob Dole in '95 before his ill-fated Presidential run. And I got the commemorative NET coffee cup to prove it!

So somewhere, sometime, Arianna really went off the rails.  My guess is that when she divorced Sam and got a big slice of dough, she could then indulge all her silly intellectual vanities (like fellating Bill Maher), and go way left and be popular with all the cool kids in LA and California.

G. Gordon Liddy was one of the first to be on to her sea-change, and started to really cut her up about '97 or '98, therabouts.

But she was and is still pretty stupid, I think. I mean she married a gay guy. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I don't think it was originally designed to start out that way. Huffington just wanted to be a player and, being an attention whore with her own husband's money to burn, decided that the internet would be one way to do it. It was a natural conduit for the libero-progressive perspective and had a lot of its own money starting out so that it could survive growing pains just as free-flowing internet money was drying up. Also, it had the Hollywood core of contributors, so an innate audience was built in.

Is it a legitimate news site? Eh. It covers events and has progressive slants. Legitimate is a relative term. Compared to Media Matters? Sure. Compared to something else? Hard to say. The stories can surely be non-ideological, but the contributions and commentary? That's a whole different beast.

Plus, look at its head. Would you say Huffington is a legitimate source of material? That's who is ostensibly guiding it if you actually believe she has the cranial capacity to be anything other than rubberstamper and financier.
