11 Don't know what channel I was watching, but they interviewed a guy (cameraman?) from the Border Wars TV show. The way it sounds, that border region is more deadly and violent than any of Israel's these days. What was it, 78 people found dead in a single mass murder site? Shit, the terrorists hardly ever get that many in an Iraqi or Afghanistan attack.

13 The Predators have some FAA cleared airspace; however, that little un-commanded excursion by a UAV into DC airspace has not been addressed yet. I would expect to see some push-back.

Yeah some commitment, what good is a predator drone when all you do is look at them go by. If they did stop them they would just turn them lose because gee, its a human rights violation to stop people at the border.

Meaningless, expensive toy meant to produce a facade of security to shut the "bigots" up. That's it. It will do no arresting to the flow of illegals. The only thing that works is a physical barrier as a force multiplier until actual reinforcing ground personnel can arrive (since shoot-to-kill policy will never be entertained), which is to say that what is actually needed is the very thing our amnesty happy government will studiously and expressly forbid.

Governor Perry of Texas tried a border surveillance technique (using American citizens' eyes as the guards) and abandoned it like everyone knew he would because it was designed only to be a politically-timed manipulation of voters' interests. The illusion of security lasted less than about four months - just enough time to help a reelection.
