I've got a good feeling in my gut about this race.  Similar to the feeling I had in January.  I'm glad you went up there.  I'm glad you have put a spotlight on this race with multiple blog posts, Wicket prominently involved or otherwise.

All of them are important of course, but some send bigger messages than others.  BF is a disgrace, and should be retired at once.  We all know that, and should he lose, it would go farther than other races in putting career pols/scumbags on notice that no one is safe from the will of the voters.

I actually voted for Jim Marshall last time because he had always voted with common sense conservatives. 68 I did a precinct walk today for Adam Kinzinger (IL-11, currently held by the contemptible Debbie Halvorson). My wife did it together. In about 3 hours we knocked on 80 doors from a list of screened addresses, all supposedly independent voters who hadn't declared a party in the last primary. Between 1/2 and 2/3 were home. We didn't encounter a single Halvorson voter; for a lot of voters, as soon as we said the magic words, "Adam Kinzinger, who is running against Debbie Halvorson", the faces lit up, the hands came out for the literature, and the voters confirmed that yup, they'd vote for a dead lemur before they would vote for THAT WOMAN. My wife and I had 3 hours in the sun, blue sky and moderate temperatures. I recommend it if you don't want to be a wimp like Ace and sit in an air-conditioned room in a comfy chair punching a phone.

I'm doing the low carb thing- it's awesome.  Bacon or sausage plus 4 eggs for breakfast hold me over most of the day- fat and protein take longer to digest so you don't get hungry as quickly.  Have some mixed nuts and/or meat (beef sticks or something) at lunch, maybe a steak or some brats (gotta read the label, a lot of them have sugar added) for dinner.

It's a good excuse to eat bacon, I never feel like I'm starving myself, and even though I cheat because I refuse to give up beer, it still works- at least for me; YMMV.

Don't need my praise, but I like these efforts.  Too many times I have seen comments on this blog asking if the Republic is lost after the ever increasing stream of bad news.

What we need to do is turn our angst into action.  And your efforts are exactly what needs to be done.  Pick a few candidates that you support in the general and help them (financially or actively (calls, canvassing, etc.).

It doesn't have to be for O'Donnell, but Republicans that you support.  Others can help the rest.

Just got home back in Connecticut. Of the two hundred and fifty calls (really had to push myself for the last twenty or thirty) I had only four people who told me they were going to vote for Franks. Had a lot more that just hung up or said they were not interested. And at least a third of the total calls went straight to answering machine or voice mail.
