I think Strickland's toast one way or another.  He's made every dumbass move possible and the state is completely in the toilet as a result.  If the economy was doing ok or even somewhat poorly I'd give him a bit of a chance, but no fucking way he survives the meltdown that's happened under his watch.

You realize that with the Spanish Solar Scam, there's no need (and in fact it's greatly inefficient) to actually shine lignts on the mcguffin and try to make it generate power.  The real scam is that you simply buy some portable diesel generators, plug them into the grid underneath your mcguffin, and then SAY that all the power you're selling to the State at high rates is Solar.   The payoff rates for solar, by law, are so high that this is profitable.

And the coup de grace is that in the end, this means that the Spanish Green Laws actually produce *MORE* air pollution (from all the hidden generators) than would have been the case if there were no laws at all!  BRILLIANT!!!

You see, these jagoffs do wonders for one's self-esteem. In this scenario, they'd continuously be telling me how great I am: smart, caring, and by golly I'm making a difference. And they'd be right.
