The relative scores of the education departments need to be mentioned in every dispute with public school teachers.  Again and again and again, until the unions finally shut their mouths or public sentiment is such that the unions are broken - as they should be.

I am sad to say that is very true. While there are good teachers out there, it's not due to any training they got in college. A moron could pass the education classes, and do. I took all my education classes in one semester, studied 2 hours TOTAL for all my finals. Average: A+. Yeah, straight A's. The stuff just seemed like non-education compared to my engineering classes, and it was. Getting a degree in education is a total and complete waste of money. You are just purchasing a degree is all it amounts to.

Little known fact about noted imbecile Bill Richardson; he was on TV advising Americans to invest in the Japanese market right before the second Asian crisis hit and the Nikkei jumped off a cliff.  Richardson did that while he was ambassador to that pathetically dangerous organization, the UN, and I have yet to understand when investment advice was part of the portfolio of the ambassador to the insane UN.

Richardson moved, not long after, to running Energy - since putting such a retard in charge of nukes and nuke secrets is just the way to deal with an IQ almost as low as what we now have with The Precedent.

I was always shocked that people bring Richardson's name up for all sorts of positions - none of which he should ever be allowed near.  But, it was his corrupt nature that brought him down, eventually, though his low IQ should have done it long, long before.  That's the scary part.

I went to Eastern Mich University, a school known for pumping out teachers. I worked at a on campus job, you know who the teachers were? They were always the workers who were useless POS' that complained that they were not paid enough while they did not do jack squat.

I worked at the Eateries, we had teaching students who could not handle the most basic duties there. They would take 40 minute breaks, leave me to run teh shop alone why they went to screw off.

No, he first fought an uphill battle for CA governor in 1966.  He defeated the establishment GOP candidate, Mayor Christopher, then the incumbent Democrat, Pat Brown, who had defeated the "giant" Nixon four years before.  Upon winning, he took the New Left of Berkeley head on.  It was his courage in facing them down that made him a hero of the Right.  After retiring in 1974, he challenged the incumbent GOP President, Gerald Ford, and, after initially stumbling, came back to almost win the 1976 nomination.  Although Ford managed to squeak out a victory, and then narrowly lose the general election against Jimmy Carter, Reagan had become the front-runner for 1980 through his own fighting spirit.

Christie, like Reagan, is a man with few connections in the GOP, but a lot of fighting spirit.

Here in Nevada, he is on the attack against Sue Lowden, even though there is very little difference between her and Erick's candidate for Senate, Danny Tarkanian. I have not yet decided whom to vote for, but I won't let Erick make the decision.  Also, he has distorted things Sue Lowden has said, particularly about campaign finance reform.

Do you really think that that is a distinction worth noting for a guy who thinks that "jobs" is "a three-letter word" and who doesn't know the Constitutional responsibilities of the Vice President, even though we've been told that he taught classes on the Constitution.  Okay, they were kindergarten classes, fingerpainting over copies of the Constitution ... just like the Dem Congress is fond of, but still ...

The entire Mom/Union Hack coalition is bombarding us with calls and begging to put signs in our yard, all for a 3% increase in property taxes in this year's school budget. (This is being sold as The Smallest Increase in Years!)

I cannot bring myself to be rude to a neighbor, but I did ask them to stay away from me for a little while.

Christie is up against the Mom/Hack coalition and taking his lumps. It is heart-warming to see that he can sneak in a shot now and then.

Clearly the governor IS deterred - he's apparently stopped doing his job so he can focus his time playing sad victim of this terrible injustice.  Luckily Ace, DrewM, and the PC Police are there to pick him up, dust him off, and throw a pity party.

The original comment was a joke.  Making more of it than that is even jokier.  As the liberals use PC so much to their advantage, the conservatives should counter with a reality check.  That's the only way to make real life better.

As a former educator myself, I'm disgusted by the damn teachers anymore -- they don't teach, they don't enforce rules; they don't do anything but jealously guard their paychecks and their bennies.

I'm thinking of throwing this around for next time they strike (which around here may be next year) -- start up a homeschooling charter type deal: get people who have been in education or have knowledge enough to teach...and we "homeschool" the kids while the teachers throw one of their fits. Petition the state to allow this sort of  "scab" work (yeah, I know, not my state -- but we have a loophole with right to work maybe). Let the freaking bastards stand out on that picket line for a good, long time; let them sweat paying their bills and putting food on the table (like the rest of us do thanks to those high taxes).

I think he said 1.5% of their salary - which going by average salary, would amount to about $750 per year.  Quite a deal I would say.  I think he also said something about making them pay 1% of their pension too?   Christie needs to Hold here, he'll be painted as a child killer when the unions refuse to pay up and they make the cuts.  No help coming from the media side either.

Yup, big overstatement.  I was trying to make a point about the whining by playing off the title of the article...  I guess I missed the mark completely.

As I live way over here, I really have no idea what kind of governor he is nor do I have any information that indicates he's not doing a fine job.  That part doesn't get as much press.  I only get to see what kind of person he is.

My point was supposed to be that playing victim and PC is a key liberal component in getting us right where we are today and suggest that we conservatives would be more effective utilizing a different approach. 

My apologies to anyone who actually got this the first time and are getting real tired of me.
