Greene Victory Raises Red Flags; E-Votes Look Sketchy?

It seemed pretty obvious to everyone in 2000 who bothered to think about it that electronic voting machines would be less, not more, reliable than traditional paper-ballot machines.

But of course we all had to "do something," because Gore lost, and we know that can't be right.

So we did what we always do: We spent a lot of money to make things worse.

Quoting Politico:

In Lancaster County, Rawl won absentee ballots over Greene by a staggering 84 percent to 16 percent margin; but Greene easily led among Election Day voters by 17 percentage points.
In Spartanburg County, Ludwig said there are 25 precincts in which Greene received more votes than were actually cast and 50 other precincts where votes appeared to be missing from the final count.
"In only two of 88 precincts, do the number of votes Greene got plus the number we got equal the total cast," Ludwig said.

Thanks to MacRadDoc, who affirms it's true that SC uses electronic voting machines.

14 Yes we do use electronic voting machines.

Looks fishy but on the absentee votes thing the elections commission has stated that that sort of turn around on absentee ballots is not unusual.

Now the discrepancy between the number of people voting and the totals of the vote counts could be a problem.

However, that could be explained away by a voter deciding to not vote on a particular race because they were not familiar with any of the candidates.

In any case, I think the deadline was today to file any official protest and I don't think Rawl has yet.

It is beginning to look like the Dems have really placed themselves in a deep hole on this one.

Here in my town, there is one precinct of the ACORN persuasion which reports late. Regardless of the balloting in the rest of the town, that precinct reports just enough votes to put its candidates over the top in town elections. Because this has happened for years, all the elected officials are beholden to this precinct and so no investigation occurs.

Electronic "voting" is what is used by every state for its various lotteries, selling billions of tickets, giving away hundreds of billions of dollars, and never once having any problems with people claiming wins that weren't theirs or other "counting" issues. The lotteries are run by the states and there is no reason those same states can't run elections with the same level of accuracy.

The funny part about the 2000 election was that it really had nothing to do with the accuracy of the counting. That was only a secondary piece that the dems tried to glom onto when it became clear that a bunch of Jewish seniors in Palm Beach had screwed up the butterfly ballots (that the dems had okayed) and voted for Buchanan instead of Gore, which is what really tipped Florida for Bush. That was something around 3000 votes which far outweighed any of the differences in the recounts. The one and only time that the Jewish vote actually made a difference in a Presidential election (though it was merely a fluke) and it made a difference in getting a Republican in. Thank G-d for the Palm Beach Jewish seniors.
