— Gabriel Malor Wow. That's a heckuvan evolution from "the mob" or "terrorists" or "racists" or "like the KKK" or "evil-mongers" or "they want to kill the president" or "traitors" or "Neanderthals." Not to mention "tea baggers." Those are the things that Democratic congressmen—not just the press or Lefty bloggers, but actual congressmen—called us over the past year, mostly from August to November.
But now, the Speaker's office has issued a pathetic memo on "Tea Party Etiquette", suggesting that the Tea Partiers be welcomed and reasoned with. If you didn't know, tens of thousands of Tea Partiers are expected to descend on Washington today to make their displeasure with ObamaCare known.
Allah suggests that if you find yourself in a Blue Dog's office, you ask about a few things:
Be sure to ask (a) what PelosiÂ’s bribing him with; (b) why, if Democrats are so confident about cost control, they had to rig the estimate on the first decade of costs by delaying the programÂ’s start by five years (in fact, just hand your rep a copy of this); (c) how he/she can be so sure whatÂ’s in the bill when theyÂ’ll be busy writing it right at that very moment.

Then they attack you.
Finally they mimic you.
Here's what I would ask: Why don't they really put this up for an up-or-down vote? Write the bill in full. Let Congressional candidates run on either voting for or against it in November. If Pelosi wins, the vote is scheduled for January 3, 2011.

Hey, I have an idea. Just spit-balling here, but if we actually kill all the scum on death row, and all the child molesters, and all the multiple felon types tomorrow, we could afford the health plan that Congress has and will continue to enjoy.
Apparently white wine makes me grumpy. I could expound at great length on the above paragraph, but I will not digress. Suffice it to say that Heinlein had the right idea.

You are presuming a good faith argument on the Democrat's side. There is none.
The Democrats want this to acquire power. The "blue dogs" are generally Democrats from somewhat conservative areas that cannot be as explicit about their desire for power as say Pelosi, and will sometime put their own political skin above the will to power of the collective.

If the Democrat representative votes "yea" for the healthcare bill even though 90% of American's who have healthcare are happy with it does the representative want to:
A) be rode out of town on a rail

If the healthcare bill is so shit-hot why are Union members and Politcos not going to be subjected to the same healthcare regime as the rest of Americans?

Gabe, you took the serious route; the Morons/ettes took their usual riotous path. I just finished my generic letter and asked how they could vote for a bill when the prez said he wanted something deficit neutral. What a joke!
Here are some of my other queries/points.
How does the CBO score make-believe bills?
Do you really want your name on something that could be responsible for killing your relatives (since I know you could care less about your countrymen)?
Is voting "aye" worth being complicit in the worst attack on our democracy in history?
Is it worth voting for something the SCOTUS may well (and should) overturn since it forces citizens to purchase something?
Is it worth the indictments and trason trials that will spring from passage of this bill?
November is only a few months away; Hell Care will be forever. Taxes start immediately. Don't think we'll forget. Citizens opposing this bill have made it our mission to work, a la Scott Brown's nationwide army, to defeat those who vote for the travesty known as Obamacare.
Finally, if it's good enough for us, why isn't it good enough for you?

Read the post again. I wrote exactly this: "and the hospital is willing to treat him. He gets treated."
If the hospital is willing to treat him, good for the hospital. That willingness does NOT grant to the hospital administrator, nor to anyone else, the authority to force anyone other than the reciepient of the treatment to PAY for that treatment.
The hospital can't afford to cover the bills of deadbeats? Then they either shouldn't have extended treatment or they're going to have to send the account to a collection agency, and explain to their shareholders where all the money went.
Which means the problem promptly gets solved (absent State involvement forcing hospitals to go broke, which we have now) bu replacing the hospital administrator with a new administrator capable of making better financial judgements.
*****
chris_holte wrote: "Danger Will Robinson. That could be you one day"
Good. I'm happy to pay my bills. I understand that payment means the service will be there next time I need it, instead of a bankrupt hull of a hospital, which is what they have in the former U.S.S.R.
*****
chris_holte wrote: "We are talking about the many people who really can't pay the bill."
They should be denied service if they can't pay. If you can't pay for something, exactly how does that fact justify the rest of us being forced to pay for it FOR you?
Please show your thinking process (or be exposed as having none) in your response.
Please explain how the penury of a sick person justifies the extortion of everyone else.
*****
chris_holte wrote: "in our present system he may die."
Socialized medicine does not prevent death. Please disabuse yourself of that notion.
But socialized medicine does hasten the early demise of those subject to its inadequacy, doctor shortages, medicine shortages, and years-long waiting lists.
*****
chris_holte wrote: "I'm perfectly willing to help someone else pay"
Helping someone else pay and forcing someone else to pay for yours, are not the same thing.
Helping is voluntary. Being forced is involuntary.
The bills before Congress make it illegal not to buy health insurance. If you don't buy it, you're assessed federal tax fines. If you don't pay the fines, you go to jail. Whether you like it or not.
Please don't confuse the concepts of "voluntary" and "involuntary." Doing so leads to libtardism.
*****
chris_holte wrote: "But I wouldn't hit him with an extraordinary bill unless he can pay it"
Of course you wouldn't, because you're a socialist. Whether you're aware of that fact is a separate question.
You're more than happy to "hit society" with his bill, because you fail to understand that society is not an entity, it's a construct. The reality is that individuals make up "society", and any bills that "society" is supposed to pay, must either be paid by individuals, or they don't get paid.
So you're willing to rob Peter to pay Paul's bills. The essence of socialism. Only problem is, Peter doesn't hang around long enough to be robbed more than a few times. Then the only way to pay Paul's bills is to FORCE Peter to keep working (slavery.) When Peter resists, you have the inevitable result of socialism: 92 million people murdered in "socialist paradises" in the 20th century.
That's where you socialists are leading us, all the while chanting "This Time Will Be Different!"
*****
chris_holte wrote: "the whole point of having a commonwealth society is to ensure that everybody in that society has an equal right to pursue happiness, acquire property, and live a reasonably decent life"
Precisely the opposite of what you Dems are trying to force on everyone. Socialism doesn't abide property, makes a mockery of equality (Politburo anyone?), and destroys the chance to live a decent life or pursue happiness. (How many people have been killed trying to escape from Cuba? How many have been killed trying to get in?)
*****
chris_holte wrote: ""we gonna break your legs if ya don't get up out of that cancer ward and pay yoo bill."
No. See my previous post for details on collection procedures.

chris_holte wrote: "we are talking a society where the majority owe more than they are worth."
Sounds like the hospital administrator better start making better decisions in his financial risk-taking, then.

chris_holte wrote: "if he's ambulatory before getting his car repossessed he'll be homeless and unemployed for sure afterwards."
False. He can keep a working vehicle through bankruptcy. But his $20,000 car gets sold to pay his debts.
*****
chris_holte wrote: "they are close to 50% of your bankruptsies"
False. There SHOULD be more bankruptcies, but currently there aren't since hospitals find it easier to bill others instead of the recipient.

"This analysis of the flaws in the legislation is not completely shared by the leaders of the Catholic Health Association. They believe, moreover, that the defects that they do recognize can be corrected after the passage of the final bill. The bishops, however, judge that the flaws are so fundamental that they vitiate the good that the bill intends to promote. Assurances that the moral objections to the legislation can be met only after the bill is passed seem a little like asking us, in Midwestern parlance, to buy a pig in a poke.'

Why can't we just use MedicAid to cover uninsured poor people? That's what it's for.
Posted by: sandy burger at March 15, 2010 09:43 PM (Q6/et)
Well, 'cause you gotta be poor to qualify. Really poor. Poorer than most people could ever imagine being poor. Medicaid poor generally means having less than $2,000 in assets ($5,000 if married), excluding one car and one home. Totally disabled, or if able to work some, benefit reductions as your earnings increase. The ability to work and earn an average of $1,000/mo means you are not that disabled.
If the idea is to expand Medicaid to the less poor, benefit costs will require cubic dollars expanding at an exponential rate. Then there's the whole thing about doctors (rightfully) choosing not to accept new patients on Medicaid as they can't cover their costs, even.

Not sure if I'd have a "question" for them since they don't really answer questions, they just obfuscate and change the subject. I would however have something more of a statement to make.
"Now Congressmen, first we'd like to thank you for the hospitality. After a year of making fun of us and attacking our good names and reputations through a sycophantic media it's obvious your starting to realize we are a force to be reckoned with. However that having been said we didn't come all the way to this corrupt cesspool for milk, cookies, or empty platitudes. We came here to make our stance perfectly clear.
We are a force to be reckoned with Congressmen, and you might wish to consider just how true that really is and just what that means for you personally. If your thinking your safe in the next election, think again. Just because many of us don't live in your district doesn't mean we can't impact your election dramatically. We'll be calling every person in your district just prior to the election to remind them of how you voted on the health care bill. We'll also be donating massive amounts of money to your opponents campaign and getting ads put on TV to remind all of your constituents of the fact that you voted for this wildly unpopular bill.
Your cronies here in DC can't save you, and Obama can't save you. Your political career is on the line Congressmen, and if we don't get you out this election, we will get you out the next. It's only a matter of time.
Now, if your intention is to take some cushy government posting so you won't need to get elected, you might want to rethink that. We'll be watching all of you Congressman. If any of you leave congressional service and get some sort of cushy executive branch posting it won't end there.
We'll use the internet, we'll use the phones, we'll keep the pressure on until your cushy government job goes bye bye and you get indicted for corruption and bribery. The point of this is simple Congressmen, were tired of the games, were tired of the nonsense, and milk and cookies while a nice gesture doesn't fix our problem.
So allow us to be perfectly clear Congressmen. We are holding YOU personally responsible for this healthcare debacle. You cannot talk your way out of that, you can't obfuscate it or use the normal smoke screen tactics you and your colleagues always use to avoid personal responsibility. No Congressmen, as far as we are concerned this Health Care mess is now your problem.
We will hold YOU personally responsible for the outcome. If you vote for it we will not forget, we will not excuse, and we will not let you walk away from your vote. We will continue to do whatever we have to do to make certain that your government career, in any form it might take, is done and over with forever.
You can forget whatever Pelosi or Obama promised you for your vote. They will both be out of power soon enough. Only question you need to ask yourself congresman, is are you going to jump off the bridge with them?"

I am like some here that posted last night. I don't think we will have much impact on these idiots. They already know that the majority of the the people are against this bill. They also, in most cases, know that their ass is going to get thrown out this Nov.
Instead of Obama carrying them in on the heels of a ground swell of liberal and black voters, Obama is dragging them down. They will not have a huge black turnout, and the Republicans will not have anchor McLame dragging them down at the polls.
My original prediction was > 50 seats in the house. Now some pundits are saying 75 or more. If that happens it will be be gigasnormous.
We are truly breaking new ground with this election.

If Obamacare passes, we should do everything that we can to shut down or seriously disrupt the Federal government. We now have the perfect opportunity. The 2010 Census forms are now being mailed to 100 million households. We should all refuse to send them in until Obamacare is DEAD. This would send an immediate and undeniable message to the Government. The Census Bureau has not planned on having to do 100 million personal visits to collect these forms. This peaceful disobediance would send a message that cannot be ignored.
If you like this idea, please pass it on as comments in other blogs and talk it up if you happen to be going to the Washington Tea Party.

No matter what happens in the House, the Senate isn't going to flip (or the odds of it happening are too remote to be taken seriously at this point).
So it won't make any practical difference if the Republicans have a narrow House majority, or a gigantic one. Either way, Congress will be split, and Obama will HAVE TO work in a bipartisan manner to get anything done.
Also, even if the unthinkable were to happen, and the Republicans WERE to win the Senate too, Obama still retains veto power. A Congressional Republican majority by itself still couldn't overcome an Obama veto, meaning that there could be no meaningful reversal of Obamacare or even of the Spendulus.
This is virtually pre-ordained now.
In short the big issue now is whether Obama and Pelosi will or won't be able to take credit for Obamacare before there is a durable Congressional logjam.

18 state have a recall provision for Senators. If your state is one of them, then get going.
I thought we put this to bed weeks ago. Even if they do have recall procedures they can NOT use them because the Constitution does not allow recall of Senators.
If it did Lindsey Graham would have been gone long ago and his manipulation of the primaries would be all for naught.
