Oh noez! He said "Socialism". The lefty no label types do not approve.
We can't use actual words to describe anything anymore. And we must submit to lord obama and only use words that are happy, shiny and pre-selected by our betters. We must ignore political history and slather it with left-wing frosting, gold stars, self-esteem training and historical amnesia. Socialism, government rule, redistrubution, welfare and regulation = you're crazy!

I saw Ermy at a presentation two years ago in Georgia at a Veteran's Day commeration. He was actually quite gracious about Obama's recent election. He had a sort of "let's not judge too harshly too soon" attitude.
Then he went on to talk about numerous takes kissing Jack Black during the filming of Saving Silverman. It was all great, fair and very funny.
My point? After two years of Obama - he's not only unimpressed, but absolutely pissed off at initially biting his tongue and giving President Obama the benefit of the doubt.

@#37 Leo
I definitely see your point. But eventually a man who willingly volunteers to defend the country must begin to ask himself "is this what I'm fighting for?"
Had you told the WWII generation that a mere 23 years after defeating Hitler and Tojo their kids will be sliding naked through the shit filled mud of Woodstock, New York tripping acid, with hair below their shoulders while listening to a discordant Crosby, Stills and Nash while believing young American soldiers to be worse than any enemy we've ever faced...Those WWII folks would have looked at that future for their country and thought - fuck this!

100% right.
What is the forum? When Osama Obama and his fucking goons turn every moment into political hay for themselves, why shouldn't Ermey have the same damn right?
I'm so fucking tired of the Mohammedan Mouthpiece turning every occasion into a sales pitch for his America-hating, vengeful agenda -- not to mention his constant self-aggrandizement -- that I'm surprised patriotic Americans like Ermey have restrained themselves for so long.
Ermey. Is. A. Fucking. Marine. He has served his country, and serves it when he appears for Toys For Tots. The damn kids may still have a country thanks to him and others like him.
It's time this became a daily event. More people need to grow a pair and stand up to the Enemy Within.
All you jackwagons who are being namby-pamby about "time and place" need to grow a pair. Ermey senses the trouble we're in and rises to the country's defense. What do you do? You act like crybabies.
Go hang out with "Poppin' Fresh" where everything is all sweetness and light and you can politely tip your pinkies at the other side.

See, people are saying that because the Left churlishly drags politics into places it might better be left out of, then we should, too. But there are lots of things they do that we shouldn't, even if they're effective. I have no desire to emulate any of them.

There is no civility, collegiality or politeness about what they are doing. We are in the battle of a lifetime against the forces of marxism, communism and all of the wickedness they have demonstrated over the past 150 years. They are all about elevating man as god. They are god, we are to be subjugated. Get it?

Take Two Pixar "Toy Story" voice actors.
One actor says that the WWII war in the Pacific was a "War of Racism and Terror".
The other actor calls the Obama administration "Communist".
Question. Which actor will suffer more professionally?

Not being a Marine (damnit), I'll defer to those great men and women of the USMC and let them sound the war cry.
R. Lee's experience would no doubt tell him to assemble a strong team to help him win the battle. That's one of the things that makes a good President.
And I'd sure as hell like to see Reid or McConnell try to say "no" to him. It would be worth it just to see him make them drop and do 20.

If you get your undies in a knot every time a liberal says something inappriopriate when they shouldn't, you must look like the freaking Gordian Knot.
But I kind of doubt that happens. I'd, in fact, bet you only get wadded up when "we" "step out" because you *expect* it of them.
In other words, you buy their double standard hook, line and sinker. Frankly, we really need less and not more of the type that thinks losing everything is better than making someone blush.
Either that or you just stir up shit because it's fun. But hey, in that case, I guess you do like making people blush, what with your bizarre equivocations and 2nd-tier chickenhawking (yelling about everyone's testicles like you can't think about anything else).
In either case, have fun with that.

At first I had the same feeling of "not the venue", but then I thought about it a bit, and realized that in true Jacksonian fashion, the venue may have been improper if the left had avoided it in the past, but since they have not, any venue is appropriate.
We'll play by civilized rules if our opponents do likewise, but if they abandon any pretense at honor, all bets are off, and anything goes. You liberal motherfuckers called the tune, don't whine when it comes time to pay the piper.

I have spent my entire adult life being polite while my brother (union democrat) and sister (Hillary democrat) trash various conservatives, beginning with Ronald Reagan, at almost every family gathering.
Because I am not one who likes confrontation, and because now that both my parents are gone, I feel the need to keep the family together and avoid fights.
But you know what? THEY don't. It's like some weird liberal compulsion that stuff gets brought up at every family gathering. I no longer will tolerate it, and I firmly say "you are entitled to your opinion, but I do not agree, and we are not going to discuss politics here." (Yes, I know that isn't much of a stand, but for me it is a big deal.)
Liberals are so convinced they are right that they have no hesitation in bringing this stuff up anywhere. How many Oscar ceremonies have they ruined with politics, attacking Bush or the war or whatever? How many movies have they destroyed by sticking political stuff in a story? Heck, I even had a ROMANCE novel ruined by the author sticking anti-Bush crap in it! They inject politics into sermons, PTA meetings, dance recitals (yes, I have seen this), decorating magazines, golf magazines, etc. NOTHING is off bounds for them.
So I think it's about time that THEY get sandbagged at events and have to listen to a conservative message. Any complaints should be addressed with examples of them doing something similar for the last 10 years.
Oh, and when they try to get Geico to cancel his contraact, we had better lean on that company to keep him.

He told the truth -- I don't see a problem with it. I had the great fortune of being in during Reagan but remembered the older folks telling Carter horror stories (and truly, from what I saw that jackwagon left the military in a terrible shape), had to watch my husband survive Clinton, and now have the fun and joy of watching my kids try to cope with this. Modern dem prezzes seem to like to hang their military out watch them die. My civility has been tapped dry.
