Back in the day, when I actually had a job, I ran a place where the public came in all the time. We had a television and I put it on FOX all the time. Several people complained, always followed by moonbatty comments. I laughed at them and never changed the channel. In fact, if I saw them coming back on another day I purposefully made sure the television was set to FOX.

40 as much as a fan as I am, putting it at an earlier time slot would hurt it. It would then have to compete with original stuff (only thing they have to compete with at 2 is Poker on NBC) and though everyone has said that Ailes let's people what ever they want, I can't but help to think that it would still end up losing the kitschy "Does Fox News even know we have a show on their channel?" vibe that they've always had.

Plus, 3AM east coast is midnight on the west coast.  There is only 1 timezone for foxnews stuff.  So if they bumped it to midnight on the east coast, it would be on at 9PM on the west coast.  And that wouldn't really work.

Yeah, I actually think that is the reason that Foxnews is not put on.  There are certain people that flip out when they see it.  Whereas conservatives are used to seeing leftist stuff everywhere, so we take stuff like CNN in stride.

didn't even think of that. And they really couldn't bump it just an hour because like it or not, the Glenn Beck lead in helps them as the ratings as showed

I suspect the reason CNN is every public T.V. I have ever seen is for two reasons.

Reason #1-The guy in charge of the remote control is most likely a dumbass, remember 52% of our population voted for President Wunderbar!

Reason #2-Executives know that putting CNN on is a safe bet, because they can be confident that nobody will ever be offended, because everything on CNN is watered down, and they know that most Conservatives won't complain, but still get a version of the news, even though they know they have to research it on their own because it came from CNN.

I suspect the reason CNN is every public T.V. I have ever seen is for two reasons.

Actually, it isn't so much anymore.  I took my dad to have eye surgery last week and in every lobby and waiting room I was in, Fox news was on.  Of course, this is Texas.  Maybe these doctors just know their clientele.

Posted by: huerfano at February 08, 2010 01:45 PM (lLqRQ)

57 A couple of years ago Lynne Cheney was on with Wolf Blitzer, she was there on a book tour to support her latest book.  There was some sort of Cheney family vs. the moonbats dust up in the news right before that, however, so she spent most of her time schooling Wolf rather than hyping her book.  It was quite entertaining.  And yes, I was in a dentist's office at the time which is why I was watching CNN.

Jimi, I don't even think that they worry about conservative people.  Most liberals assume everyone believes the way they do.  The thought that anyone could disagree with the way the news is delivered on CNN never enters their small pea brained heads. They also consider CNN the only "real cable news network".  They think it carries some sort of absolute moral authority/gravitas card.

Posted by: runningrn at February 08, 2010 01:46 PM (CfmlF)

59 CNN has contracts with the airports so that is what you get.  Either they are really long contracts or Fox doesn't think it is worth it for the short term viewership.

77 Nearly every surgeons' lounge I've ever been in (and that's in the hundreds) features Fox.     Winston, are you a sales rep?  I'm sure it's a geographical area thing.  I'm speaking for the hospitals in the Seattle area, Moonbat Central.  It's weird because most of the surgeons I know are conservative/Republicans but the anesthesia department is filled with far leftys--it is bizarre!  Especially in light of the fact that anesthesia is one of the specialties that's paying the most in malpractice premiums--anesthesia, OB and neurosurgery are paying the most--depending again on geographical area, but easily 6 figures a year in a lot of places.

84 jimi's right.

Conservatives are not likely to fucking lose their shit if they see CNN.  They might sigh and be annoyed a bit, but they usually have the courtesy to not give a shit.

But put FNC on, and there is a real chance of someone being a total psycho about it.  They probably never watch news at all and are just convinced Fox is evil.

I imagine the number of people who hate Fox is much, much higher than the number who love it, but the haters don't watch news at all.  Even Jon Stewart is asking too much.  They watch Adult Swim and MTV and American Idol.

Funny about anesthesiologists.  That hasn't been my experience, though, so perhaps it's more an issue of the lefty coast thing.

96 with a little polishing, red eye could be a serious performer against stewart/colbert, needs better writers and they would need to actually do shows in a timely manner, like every day, the oreilly repeat does gangbusters in that slot against the likes of stewart/colbert if i remember correctly, but i imagine with greta's lead-in and being exhausted with the hard news of the day it would really do well.

Heh!  I wonder how all that hoax and change is working out for them.  I was talking to one of our reps during surgery and asking him how much the tax will be on medical devices (as in the senate health reform bill).  I can't remember now, but I think he said either 7 or 9 per cent.  He was like "But we (the company) will be the ones paying for it."  The surgeon stopped working, looked him in the eye and said "Get real, you're going to pass that cost onto the patients."  The rep kind of mumbled, "yeah, you're probably right."  MA has a lot of medical device companies that employ a lot of people.  It was postulated that could have helped Scott Brown.

I saw a very good news piece a while back that laid it out plainly.  The premise was that if you wanted 1950's health care, that would be very doable, and for tremendous savings.  Unfortunately, your life expectancy for a cancer diagnosis or your prognosis for severe osteoarthritis was not so hot.

Heh!  I remember a thread where we were reminiscing about growing up in that area, summers at the Jersey Shore, etc.  I really wanted to go to Penn State, but my older sister went there so then I cut off my nose to spite my face because I always tried to be different than her (something about growing up in her shadow).  My best friend from H.S. who was also my college roommate the first two years, met a dated a guy at West Chester who went to Horsham-Hatboro H.S.

Nascar isn't me preferred motorsport, and neither is IRL, but Danica isn't that bad.  she's just not as good as the hype might suggest.  2 top 5s at Indy (a pretty challenging track) means she's better than anyone here and probably has quite a bit of talent.

Not champion caliber, but good enough to be in a decent race.

I didn't think she was in the Daytona 500.  I thought she was in the Busch race (I know it's not called that anymore).  I bet she does relatively well.

I'm too busy waiting on more F1 drama to notice, though.

559 547 Kratos.. Is it true that you do not know of any nymphs because none ever went or visited Hades?

I've encountered nyads (a kind of nymph - they were the daughters of Posideon) in GoW1.  If you kissed them and they were pleased, they may drop a gift such a Phoenix feather.

There is a enemy in GoW2 called a nymph.  It was this pesky little thing that shot webbing or energy bolts.  The Hades nymph are the same types of things, only more fiery.

The opposition  is calling for more protests and demonstrations over there against the regime on November 11th so my take is this is just empty saber rattling trying to draw attention away from that.

ACE,

Tonight Hannity played the video of Obama delivering that bizzaro-rama eulogy for his 'nameless' campaign worker who - according to the Messiah - her most important life accomplishment was getting buried in an Obama T-shirt.

What's interesting is that Hannity's tagline sarcastic criticism was uncannily similar to your own from last week. Here's how Hannity ended the segment: "...does this campaign worker have a name. And if so, Mr. President, you might want to learn it the next time around, so it's not so obvious you're using her as a prop for your political agenda."

You wrote: "Memo to Obama: If you're going to traffic in this sort of crap, at least memorize her name, so her existence as a mere prop in your movie isn't quite as obvious."

Is this really coincidence? Or are you moonlighting on Hannity's writting staff? Or is someone on his writting staff a flattering fan of this blog?

"You wrote: "Memo to Obama: If you're going to traffic in this sort of crap, at least memorize her name, so her existence as a mere prop in your movie isn't quite as obvious."

I can answer this for you.

It is obviously coincidence, Dave.  This is what I said when I heard about this story without seeing it on FNC or this blog.

This is what EVERYONE said.  "If you're going to use this bitch as a prop, memorize her fucking name first."  It's just an obvious retort.

If you think it's proof of a conspiracy that a lot of people used this low hanging fruit retort, you are an idiot.

Posted by: Wigglesworth at February 08, 2010 10:33 PM (dUOK+)

579 It's like when Obama gave himself the options of being great 1-term president or a mediocre 2-term president. I'll bet 50% of the people who heard that immediately thought "bad 1-term president" was more likely.

Dear Wigglesworth,

For your own sake, go look up the word “conspiracy”. Good boy. Okay, now use your newfound understanding of this big word you used in your nasty little post to notice that this same concept can be found nowhere in my post, number 584. Very good. You see, Wigglesworthless, in a conspiracy there must be at least two persons actually conspiring to covertly accomplish a goal. And no such suggestion is made anywhere in my post. But I realize you wanted to feel important using that small mind of yours. Better luck next time.

Okay, now I am going to ask you to do something really hard. Since you claim that “This is what EVERYONE said.”, you need to back up this claim by citing just one other major media outlet that used language and conclusion similar to AceÂ’s and HannityÂ’s. LetÂ’s improve your chances and allow that you can cite MSNBC too - no doubt your favorite.

Now note that if you are incapable of providing any such quote, that you are precisely what your posting name implies: a petty fraud. DonÂ’t worry, you can find these words in the dictionary too.
