— Ace Let me tell you why PolitiFact did this -- why it claimed some kind of ambiguity.
It's because they want to give Gibbs a supposedly neutral third-party citation so he can claim "that claim has been debunked."
Now, we all know what the facts are. Obama said it. His administration put out the chart. But PolitiFact offers them the soundbite "that's been debunked." Despite the fact that they basically confirm the facts, but then just say, "But we are parsing about this word or that word so that our liberal friends can point to us as having 'debunked' it."
Same deal with these "independent panels" scrutinizing the behavior of the CRU "scientists." We all know the facts -- these guys hid data, destroyed data, ran models with inaccurate data, gamed the rules of the system to get un-vetted papers helpful to them published, and conspired to keep dissenting science out of science journals.
Do these panels refute these facts? No, they just look at the facts and offer a conclusory take: "These facts do not in and of themselves consitute an ethical breach."
Note that since that friendly conclusion was "reached," all the MFM wants to do is talk about that one-sentence "Well we think what they did wasn't that bad" and avoid discussing the facts.
Because the facts are truly awful. But they have these "independent review boards" certifying the facts are not awful enough to be censurable, and so that's what they now get to talk about: Some liberal buddy of these guys gave them a "hey, it's not that bad" conclusion, as was inevitable, and now all the liberals get to say "those claims were debunked."
Um, no, actually. The claims remain as sturdy as ever. The only new thing here is some liberal fuckwit's estimation that the claims are no big deal.
I need an expert opinion to tell me if shady behavior is shady-shady or just shady?
So, now PolitiFact delivers the liberals the quote they need -- "ambiguous," they seem to be claiming, which is enough cover for Gibbs to now say "debunked."

This so-called "debunkage" isn't for us. This buncombe is for the trolls. This is for smug hipsters to parrot in their altercations with us peasants. They don't have to believe it themselves; it is even better for them that they not believe it.
The point is for them to have an Authority to assert, an approved authority, an authority which everyone in academia and the civil service has signed onto. To go against that would be "extreme", maybe even "nuts".
They want more face-offs with educated lying hacks on their side, against proles like the elderly woman who called out that congressdouche on the Panthers a few threads back. The congressdouche takes the "high" ground by mocking stuff people "read on the Internet". It's him versus some stammering old hag; it's Trusted Authority versus some throwback.
The more the Democrats do it, the more they hope that the rest of us get angry enough to say something which we might regret.
That's what they portrayed last year. This is the message: the Democrats are the winners and those who oppose them are tired old losers.

So even Politifact couldn't twist itself hard enough to say it was "Not true" or even "Ambiguous," it's TRUE.

Boy does snopes brass me off. They'll take some LaRouche criticism of Obama, point out it is silly, and say hur hur, look at all those crazy conspiracy nuts.
For example, they claim; "During a campaign stop, Barack Obama said that he had visited "fifty-seven states." as partially true. Why partially? They pair it with the claim 57 is something to do with the number of Islamic states. BUT THEY DON'T mention that on the main page.
On the other hand, they treat the claim that Bush didn't know their were black people in Brazil as undetermined - because there is no proof he didn't say it...

Payoff? Sure, there's a payoff.
It is status, being part of the Progressive Nomenklatura. It's identity politics, except the identity is a stealthy self-destructive set of ideas.
I've read one particular "conservative" blogger call Ezra Klein a "smart, thoughful leftist". Ezra Klein is phony douche, like all the rest, regurgitating all the tropes and bromides he was taught by the academy in school. He has no original ideas; even Journolist is more like a bunch of freaky teenagers texting each other (see Iowahawk parody). These guys are ALL THE SAME.
Does an objective reality exist? If it does, they sure as the Sun rises in the morning, this sort of nonsense will eventually turn to...shit. Unfortunately, the guiltless as well as the guilty are going to be going along for the ride.

We've got to stop bringing a rubber knife to a gunfight. Facts don't matter. Truth doesn't matter. What matters is a memorable catch-phrase, a vivid image, a viral sound-bite video, or a funny one-liner. Arguing about what Obama actually said is a fool's game; it makes us look like petulant dweebs.
Sean Hannity has the right idea: pick one bullet-point and repeat it every five seconds for the duration of his show. Pound that sucker home and ignore any counter-argument.
For this one, I suggest spinning it back around on them: "Obama's changing history again to hide his incompetence." Don't argue facts, don't talk about 8.5 percent vs. 9 percent vs. the price of spit in Abilene. Just keep saying "Obama's changing history again. There he goes, changing history. I sure wish his crew would decide what lie they're telling this week; it's confusing when they go back and change what they said. How come he doesn't spend as much effort on being President as he does on lying about what he said last year?"
Pound it home, don't sweat the facts. A vivid lie is better than a book full of truth. It's time to learn from the Master himself: Barack Obama, Father of Lies.

I wonder how much coverage we would have gotten had we hung outside a polling place intimidating voters with nightsticks and the Bush administration dismissed our guilty verdict?

I would LOVE to watch Holder's head explode if a black conservative showed up at an overwhelmingly "black" polling place in a white sheet and hood, holding a burning cross.
Would THAT constitute voter intimidation, or would the "No prosecution of blacks for voter rights violations" still be in place? Would it be considered a hate crime? The possibilities for hilarity are ENDLESS.....

We might have called them that, but we didn't really have much in the way of documents. Un-big-petroglyphed Immigrants" doesn't really flow, especially when you have to put an "-itlan" on the end of every goddamn syllable.

It's similar to the bullshit going on with the NAACP accusing the Tea Party of being racist.
Let's see now, a group called the "National Association for the Advancement of Colored People" is call the Tea Part racist.
Would the NAACP be cool with a group called the NAAWP? - The National Association for the Advancement of White People
Give me a break. Of course they wouldn't. The bullshit is so fucking deep.

I must respectfully disagree. This is unique. The modern West is the first totally dominant civilization to commit suicide as atonement for its great advancement and creativity.

O'Brien will now, very soon, invite you to his flat. You'll find he can actually turn the telescreen off. He will fill you in on a childhood rhyme you can't quite recall in its entirety, and promise to get a special book to you.
And he will - he promises - meet you one day in a place where there is no darkness.

Unfortunately, the ignorance of the electorate makes these tactics effective. Chocolate Jesus is all good because he says he is and his friends say he is. Don't let the facts cloud your judgement.

Dave Chappelle did that already. And it was annoying and immature when he did it.
Anyway what we're more likely to see is Leftists doing that to gin up a phony controversy.

They havn't accused any one individual, there is no one to say bullshit I didn't say that you are lying. They just said hey someone heard someone say the n word and we don't know who it was.
That passes for facts on the MFM now.

How is it that we have Holocaust museums, NAZIs are the villains in our movies to this day, and the average person has no idea who Archbishop Galen was or why Stauffenberg thought he had an obligation to kill Hitler?
“We took this challenge before our Lord and our conscience, and it must be done, because this man, Hitler, he is the ultimate evil.”

Our big problem is not Toonces or his fat ass wife. It is the 62,000,000+ dumbasses that voted for this Black Separatist Marxist. America is strong enough to survive a horrible Presidency...it's been done over and over. We cannot survive half of the country actively trying to destroy the ideas that made America possible.
And, oh yeah, we have no southern border. And liberals breed better.
Posted by: gator at July 13, 2010 05:54 PM (aOKEC)

Only because most whites wouldn't stand for it. Being black means never having to say you're sorry....for hating and actively, publicly rooting against Whitey.
Posted by: gator at July 13, 2010 05:55 PM (aOKEC)
That's okay. You'll come around.
-->America got fat and lazy and developed an entitlement and vanity mentality. Add to that the various attacks and invasions from the outside and you have the same recipe that took down every great civilization in history.
Posted by: davidt at July 13, 2010 09:51 PM (HtIec)
That's all true, but what has animated the rapid deterioration of the West, in my view, has been white guilt and all of the perversions of our society that were effected in order to alleviate some of this illusory guilt. We made mockeries of our legal system, our electoral systems, our traditions towards business and private property, ... all atonement, as I score. The final blow was prompted by the credit crisis, which drove America into a near-psychotic state and emotional black hole, from which most of the 52% decided to "end it all" in a blaze of 'racial' atonement, politically correct stupidity and total irresponsibility. Everyone knew that the Indonesian Imbecile hated America and was going to do his best to destroy the place. They voted for him knowing that. Everyone knew it.
To me, this insurance policy doesn't pay off, because it's suicide
Suicide by Indonesian.

Mild disagreement. Maybe just nuance.
Rich urban liberals don't breed worth shit.
The political morlocks they feed and depend upon, however, breed like rabbits.

1. The no taxes pledge on people making less than $250,000 was not logged on the Obameter for a long time. I don't remember seeing it until after the election. This was a signature statement / promise that made it on the cover of Parade magazine and lots of other places well before the November. It is promise #515. I believe they finally put it up there well after it had become a very noticeable issue and been broken.
2. How do they pick which things to debunk? It appears that the quotes page is almost always full of Republicans saying arguably false statements and relatively few Democrats. They don't even have the most recent tempest-in-a-teapot for Olbermann on the Abraham Lincoln.
This is why they are full of crap just like all the rest of the supposed fact checker sites. Get a sheen of impartiality and then work like hell for one side. Screw them.

Them boys was tryin' to get re-elected, and shizzle, yo. Take it from the "First Black President" that just ran interference for a Kleagle at his funeral and hasn't had to pay the price this week - someone who got feminists and the rest of the Left to defend him for serial acts of outright rape, date rape, adultery exposure, witness tampering and/or egregious sexual harassment. And also got a free pass on saying the nation's actual first (half) black President should be gettin' him and some other cracker some coffee and we just need to learn how to manipulate him.
P.S. - B - I want my props, pronto, or my First Battleaxe primaries you in '12 and I admit you bribed Sestak. It's how we roll in the (D).
