Basically blaming his current economic mismanagement on Bush's decisions on war seven and a half years ago.

Doublespeak IS a form of lying. It's the art of saying the opposite of what you really mean OR saying two contradictory things at once so that your audience can draw either conclusion with equal evidence.
Case in point: "There are patriots who supported the war and patriots who opposed the war." You could make that argument in theory BEFORE the war, when the outcome was in doubt. But at this moment, you can't argue that someone who opposes what the US has actually achieved in Iraq is still a patriot -- that person would be in favor of reversing our accomplishments and going back to the Saddam Hussein days. For the President to haul out that chestnut for tonight's speech shows that his Tele-Prom-Ter is a master of doublespeak (which is probably why it has two screens).

My husband is driving back from Canada. He stopped at one of our favorite roadside places, this golf course in Waverly, NY (O'dumbass and Tiger sure classed up that sport!) where you can get a cheap and satisfying meal. There is a little farm on the way up, and they had tons of donkeys out in the field.
They're all gone this year. My husband asked the bartender about it, and her eyes teared up. "They sold out." I'm not sure what the whole story was, but the high school kids had basketball tournaments, kind of like donkey polo, every year for a generation, as long as this girl could remember, but this year the farm was foreclosed on.

Two other things that went inexcusably unmentioned, omissions which Obama should definitely be called out loudly and in public for failing to mention:
1. The assistance, bravery and sacrifice of all the allied countries in the MultiNational Forces coalition who lost lives and treasure helping us get rid of the Saddam regime...specific thanks and huzzahs to the Brits, Canada, the Ozzies, NATO as a whole, Poland, SKorea, Ulkraine, Italy pre-Zapatero Spain, and many many other nations who helped. A total and unforgivable lapse by the clueless and classless Diaper Jesus -
2. The unbelievable bravey and sacrifices by the fucking Iraqi people themselves, who first had to live under the terror of Saddam for 35 years then had to turn a ghetto of 35 million people back into an Oasis overnight while dodging fedayeen and IED's while a whiny impatient, unforgiving and oppositional western press corps and political class clamored non-stop for instant results.
Hardly anyone with a brain really expected any expression of gratitude by this President towards anyone but himself, but its now clear that this is the most thin-skinned ungracious petty vindictive small-minded clod who has occupied the Oval Office in a very very very long time, much longer than the memory of anyone alive. James Buchanan comes to mind, I guess but whatevs.
But not giving props to our allies and the Iraqis themselves is flat-out unforgivable.

just reread the speech and Obama did manage one or two casual references to the work and sacrifices of our coalition partners and the Iraqis themselves.
This was a mistake by me and i regret and apologize for saying that no mention whatsoever was made.
However, the substance of the criticism stands imo, because both our allies and the Iraqis deserved and have paid in blood for much more than one or two sentences en passant before moving on to blame Bush for Obama's ginormous deficit spending and how all patriotic Americans must support jacking that deficit up to frikking Saturn and beyond in the coming years.
