— LauraW Amnesty Through Policy Already In Effect
In an unprecedented move within the Department of Homeland Security, the detention and removal officers and agents responsible for and sworn to enforcing our nation's immigration laws issued an exhaustive, scathing letter simply titled "VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN ICE DIRECTOR JOHN MORTON AND ODPP ASSISTANT DIRECTOR PHYLLIS COVEN" on June 11, 2010. The letter, acquired through sources, provides a litany of examples of how ICE's mission is being skewed towards supporting an unflinching goal of amnesty by refusing to allow agents to do their job; allowing criminal aliens to roam free; depleting resources for key enforcement initiatives that preceded this administration; and misrepresenting facts and programs, demeaning the extent of the criminal alien problem and geared to support amnesty.
It's a bombshell. The agents document how their leadership are deliberately thwarting the core mission of the department.
Interestingly, ICE Director John Morton told the Washington Post, in regard to this letter and other interest groups that call for his resignation (apparently this is quite common for him), that such letters are just, "part of the territory here."
"Shut up," he explained.
READ THE WHOLE THING.

Can't get your crap through congress because of those pesky people who still try to do the will of the people. Well just bypass congress and do it on the sly.
Refuse to implement the law, obstruct the people who do try to implement the law.
Nixon never did had of this shit and he was the most "evil" president in history.
Impeach him now.

Question: are all the very public "F-U Mr. and Mrs. America" legislative initiatives of the Obama administration regime just diversionary tactics?
Perhaps their real pupose is to keep attention diverted from the slash and burn operations that Obama appointees are conducting inside our law-enforcement institutions! But how could they get away with so many such operations with investigative journalists constantly on the prowl for...

It should be no surprise that the Osama Obama regime is ignoring -- and thus violating -- immigration laws. It's a pattern of criminal behavior that began with illegal campaign contributions and has continued, unabated, since Jan. 20, 2009.
Vic is right. The only way this will be stopped is impeachment.

The lack of technical expertise and field expertise has resulted in a priority of providing bingo nights, dance lessons and hanging plants to criminals, instead of addressing safe and responsible detention reforms for non-criminal individuals and families. Unlike any other agency in the nation, ICE officers will be prevented from searching detainees housed in ICE facilities allowing weapons, drugs and other contraband into detention centers putting detainees, ICE officers and contract guards at risk.

Our union does have its usefulness, like a lawyer, but mostly it obstructs, and gives the slackoffs cover to do whatever the hell they want. That's one reason I didn't go into management, I'd be pulling my hair out running into walls dealing with problem employees. My life is much less stressful this way. Oh, and the union is probably the main reason we haven't gotten rid of Saturday delivery yet. It's been encouraged to not be a priority for the Dhimmicrats. Got a talk this week saying that the PM General has been told by CONgress that it won't be taken up this year. Even though there's a subcommittee for Postal activities. Guess they're too damn busy with ICE activities.

Gosh, Trudy, we heartless Americans are sure rough on y'all up there in Maple-Leaf Land....
Unless things have changed considerably since the time I, with a Canadian wife, applied to take up residency in Canada, your country gave draft-dodgers preference over simple people like myself, who just wanted to live and work there.
I was told that my in-laws would have to take full financial responsibility for me forever, that I was considered unworthy because my French is limited (I wanted to live in Vancouver, BTW) and any job I applied for had to be rejected by all possible Canadians before I could be considered.
In short, I was made to feel as welcome as a bad case of Swine Flu.
Instead, my wife moved down here and we got her a green card. Quite legally and, despite the usual bureaucratic hassles, quite simple. She wasn't restricted in her job choices, either.

How many stories were there when the illegals were protesting the AZ immigration law and carrying p-shopped posters of Jan Brewer as Hitler? I saw it once on Fox, but they didn't mention the poster. It was just part of the tape they were showing as they discussed the protests. Same old shit that will never change.

There is problem with theory and reality. in theory Latinos are conservative, socially and somewhat fiscally. One would expect they would vote republican.
However the same can be said of blacks. They tend to be extremely socially conservative, and moderate to liberal fiscally. And yet they vote 99 percent for democrats.
Rush points this out all time, 80 percent of the country lives their daily lives as conservatives, but they just don't know it or it doesn't translate to their voting.

that's different. Hispanics are going to be the biggest "minority" in america for the foreseeable future. I don't think we need to "pander" to them, but there is nothing wrong with appealing to their conservative values and explaining how they would be more at home in the Republican party.

Deflecting the liberal wedge issues would be job one, gathering the votes through attractive social positions would be number 2.Indeed. Happy talk. Wishful thinking.

Mexico City, Mexico, Aug 5, 2010 / 05:56 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Despite heavy opposition from various organizations defending traditional marriage, Mexico’s Supreme Court ruled Thursday that same-sex “marriage” in the country's capital city is constitutional.
According to the Associated Press, the court's justices acknowledged that while the constitution protects the family, it does not define what a "family" is.
The 8-2 vote went against an appeal by Mexico's attorney general challenging the constitutionality of the city's law allowing gay “marriage.” The law went into effect on March 4 of this year.
Next Monday the court will debate whether the law applies to the rest of the country and whether it includes the right to adoption.Posted by: Tami at August 06, 2010 08:16 AM (VuLos)

Republicans have pandered to the Hispanic vote for the past 12 years and yet consistently they vote 75% for Dems. While true the Southern FL Hispanics tend to vote more evenly the rest do not.
The overwhelming majority of the Hispanics coming over the border with Mexico now are uneducated, poor, and natural voting blocs for the Dems. Within one generation they largely become welfare drones living in the inner city.
There is a reason the Dems are always behind these amnesty plots. Most of us here know this shit so you are going to have a hard sell trying to push this crap.

You can't generalize Hispanic votes.
Cuban, Mexican, and Puerto Ricans only sometimes are similar in political slant, education, language, or interests. The old educated Cuban families who wisely took off when Castro was in the mountains (hated by Democrats for forty years) are nothing like the later arrivals from Cuban prisons; like Mexicans who come as pack mules for drugs versus generational agricultural-ranching migrants who've become Americanized by contact.
Puerto Ricans subdivide along territory, statehood, indpendence lines. The independence folks are loved by the Left (see pardons for terrorism) despite the nitpicking little problem with indpendence losing a handful of major referendums.
Puerto Rican immigrants are nearly always bilingual (and born as American citizens: don't forget that). Cubans and Mexicans less so (and born as citizens of other nations).
It goes beyond that into cultural stuff I see from the outside. If you want to win Central Florida, don't screw it up.

Puerto Ricans are NOT immigrants or illegals sneaking across the border and really have no point in this debate.
That's the point I was trying to make. There is no monolithic "Hispanic vote" in reality. But the Democrats like to pretend there is, and that Dems are the only ones who can appeal to the "Hispanic vote," primarily through amnesty and sympathy for far-left radical groups like La Raza or the FALN.
The Republicans should refuse to generalize along ethnic or racial lines when talking about policy.
When Dems threaten with the "Hispanic vote" they are using it as a proxy for the illegal immigrant vote.
