— LauraW ...on Sunday morning, catching up with some of your other blogs and wondering why they don't work?
Wordpress is down right now. So all your Wordpress blogs are offline until somebody over there finds the electrical tape and paperclips.
I'm not going to tell you how Ace did it. But let's just say that 1) he went on a bender last night and 2) a sharpened hobo femur makes a pretty good prybar but it's a terrible conductor.
UPDATE FROM COMMENTS: Obama on The View.

That made me choke on my coffee for some reason. Oh wait, because it's funny. That's the reason.

I'm pretty sure that's not quite true. A femur is way too short for a pretty good prybar, maybe a ok prybar but not a good one.

23 - It's all so true. The democrat party is the party of elite wealth.
From Newport, R.I., — where Kerry’s “Isabel’’ was berthed before heading to Nantucket — to Rhinebeck, N.Y. — where Chelsea Clinton will marry in a mansion modeled after Versailles — today’s Democrats are looking more like Louis XVI than Tip O’Neill.

It's almost hilarious to watch the party of extreme wealth (D) campaign on class warfare.
One of the Democrat candidates running for senate in CO ( Andrew Romaoff) has ads out that say virtually nothing. His ads are silly empty promises to clean up Washington and special interests. Andrew Romanoff is a huge supporter of a "Single Payer" full-on government run health system. He won't mention his love for "Single Payer" in his ads, because like all democrats, he must hide who he really is.
So instead he says - "We need a candidate for the rest of us." *lol*
He might as well come out as say "We need a festivus for the rest of us".

I was under 21 when I was there and the Navy policy for all their stateside clubs was to adopt what ever law the State had for drinking age.
I don't know if the still do that but at the time the Navy was the only one who did that. The Army sure didn't. When I was in Maryland we used to get together and go over the the NCO club at Aberdeen.
That was a nice club.

LOL, not a chance. They used to pat everyone down going on the ship starting a few weeks before we were scheduled to deploy. I got caught in one of those on the first day they did it on my last cruise. I was shittin' bricks when they patted me down and I had a pint of Jack in the center pocket of my flight jacket. The MOA doing the frisk looked me in the eye and "winked" while he only patted down the sides and skipped the center.
As for "federal drinking age" what in the sam hell is that? Do they now have a federal law for drinking age? I guess my copy of the Constitution is really out of date.

During that same time frame 2 helicopter pilots got greedy and tried to sneak 40 pounds of uncut cocaine on board disguised in the stores they were heloing in on cargo nets. They figured to get rich quick when we got back to the States. Little did they know that the pushers who sold them the stuff got paid twice. Once when they sold the stuff and again when they ratted them out for the reward.
Those two pilots were shipped back to the States for a general court so fast it took a week for their skivvies to catch up.

That is how I got the last Trojan and I got it here via a flash ad. They have made them even more sophisticated so that when the fake "virus scan" comes up you can't click anything on it to close it. You have to do a "control-alt-del" and kill it via task manager without clicking anything.
And BTW, once that POS had attached itself even Malware Bytes wouldn't take off. I had to kill the hard drive and do a virgin install.
I now use two browsers. I have IE-8 with all the "bells and whistles" which I only use for google maps, weather, and U-tube (stuff that you have to have flash player on).
I use FF with ad block and no flash player for everything else. So far running like that I have only had one potential problem and that was a minor tracking cookie.

Thanks. I'll be all right -- it isn't as though they weren't going to deploy together at some point. I'd feel more confident if the situation was a bit less of a soup sandwich iykwimaittyd. Never batted an eye when the eldest deployed to Iraq under Bush; this one just feels different -- and it bugs me.

In other words, it was another "minority" hiring project for the CBC and a permanent drain on State resources. The federal money was a one time shot but it was only good for permanent new positions, union positions of course.
This is why a lot of States like SC did not want to take the money. Sanford wasn't going to take that money or the unemployment money but the FDR Repubs in the legislature forced it on hm over a veto.
Now those same assholes, in a manner similar to Obama, have formed an advisory group to look at the budget mess in SC. Their proposed solution??? A whole mess of increased sales taxes.
Gee, who would have guessed.

Well, if your son should happen to run into two rather short, very assertive girls -- one of which looks like a redhead Amy Lee, the other like a short, more atheletic Jill Hennessey -- sporting military tats and a deceptively soft spoken demeanor...tell him to run; I love my kids, but they are hell on wheels.

Iran contingency plan? Damn straight. I bet you we have contingency plans to invade frickin' England, for Christ's sake - it's what any halfway competent military does, prepare plans for every conceivable possibility, however unlikely.
Despite what the typical leftist asshole thinks, the military does not make shit up as it goes along. Sure, there's lots of improvisation at the squad and company and battalion level, where things move fast and we rely upon NCOs and company grade officers to think on their feet, but at the national strategic level? Hell no, there's a plan for everything, and they get pulled out and updated periodically.
