— Ace Linda Lovelace.
Lindsay Lohan has landed the lead role in an independent movie about 1970s porn star Linda Lovelace, one of the film's producers said. The 24-year-old actress will play Lovelace, who shot to fame with the landmark 1972 porno movie "Deep Throat," while Bill Pullman will portray Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner in the period drama, producer Wali Razaqi told The Los Angeles Times.
...
"I would say it's probably one of the most challenging roles any actor could play — and not because of the sexual content, necessarily — but more because she was so battered and beat up emotionally, that I think it's gonna take everything Lindsay has to really be able to pull it off," he told the Times.
She's only 25 years old (or whatever) and she's already at the point she needs a "bold, daring" stunt-casting to help revive her career.
It's a little too late for her to change things, but all of this young girls in Hollywood think that the way to be taken seriously is to whore it up in their private lives and star in "dark, edgy" dirty movies for their day jobs. (Dakota Fanning just proved she was "all grown up" by getting raped in a movie.)
I'm not really sure what they're thinking. Adult actresses who get a lot of starring roles tend to have clean (or clean-ish) reputations and do mainly mainstream movies. Julia Roberts isn't getting raped on screen very often.
But a lot of them seem to think the same way. "I'll show them how adult I am!" When actually adult actresses tend to take roles only a few steps removed from being childhood innocence.

Lohan may or may not be the icon or metaphor for her generation; Linda definitely is a symbol of hers. Like an increasing number of people, her entire teen and adult years are a non-stop therapy / rehab session.

FIFY. Lohan's certainly degenerated from that sweet character she played in the The Parent Trap remake to the thing she's today.

LiLo looks pretty worked already, while 70s pornstars like Linda Lovelace and Marilyn Chambers looked surprisingly fresh despite their day jobs. They had better drugs back then.

Ace, I think "going bad" is a fairly stock Hollywood strategic move, in music too. It does happen when the career has peaked, and it works sometimes. I remember Donny Osmond saying Michael Jackson advised him to go bad. Osmond wouldn't, but later Jackson did, and he even had a song to signpost the move.
Whereas Jackson's move was the result of the best planning, Lohan's is probably more the result of lack of options and a sense that they might as well use the bad publicity she's already getting.
I suspect the whoring in the private life wasn't part of an overarching plan. They're just trying to capitalize on it.

Word, Bebes. Only thing is, Britney Spears has at least one parent who wasn't hell bent for leather to ride the Britney gravy train so hard. Her dad has reportedly made huge strides in saving her fortune. Her mom was reportedly the one who called in Dr Phil to go and visit her at that rehab place, which was what pissed Britney off something fierce.
LL's folks are seemingly two peas in a pod. Mom has been pushing LL out to go to parties and make herself known (coughcough), and her dad reportedly has done so much booze and dope that he can barely sign his own name. How else can it be explained that LL's younger sibs were staying with her in her apartment, instead of with their folks?
Yeesh. Cesspool of the depths of hell, is the Hollywood life.

MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Rumors circulate of an immigration raid at Cinco de Mayo festivities. Markets normally bustling with customers preparing for the celebration are quiet. Family picnics are scaled back.
Many Hispanics in Arizona - both legal and illegal - are increasingly anxious about being targeted under the state's tough anti-illegal immigration law. Some are afraid to leave their homes, even on the day when the nation celebrates Hispanic heritage.

Smelling like pickles would have been an improvement; I smelled like deep fryer. Even walking home in the rain, throwing all my clothes cirectly into the wash (so I could wear them again the next day) and taking a shower...could still smell the fryer of the Doug-Out Family Restaurant.
Hell, I can smell it now just typing this.

Remember the Annie Leibovitz Vanity Fair photoshoot? Of course that's not anything near a sex tape, but it's suggestive of bad decision-making or opportunism at the behest of the Cyrus family. It's like some rite of passage in the entertainment industry that girls must become women by showing skin, and participants agree to partake to stay relevant. A deal with the devil seems to be the going rate.
It's an indictment of Hollywood and our expectations from it.

Well, yes and no. I've known three murderers from my high school days and only one of them gave me that feeling. Career criminal biker armed robbery-type. Everyone knew as far back as 8th grade that he was going to end up in prison.
But the other two, totally clean-cut All-American types, are the ones on death row, murdered the one guy's rich parents because he was afraid that they were going to make him move out of the house and get a job. They were going to kill his sister too (because he suspected that she was first in the will), but she was out late with friends that night, missed her curfew.
Evil can come in many packages.

That’s the thing I hate about how they are treating some really disturbed kids in schools these days. I mean I swear there are not one, but two sociopaths in my son’s grade. These kids, you look them in their eyes and it is just dead there. These boys have both threatened to bring weapons to school, they’ve told other kids they are going to kill their pets, they say horrendous things to both kids and adults. And yet, the school coddles them and tries to teach them better “social skills.”
You know what, fuck that, I want the little bastards to continue to have piss poor social skills because if not they are going to grow up to be slick bastards who end up committing heinous crimes and no one will recognize them for the evil they are until it is too late and people are quoted in the news as saying “he seemed like such a charming person.”
Sometimes evil is just evil and there is no rehabilitating it.

Yep. Mainstreaming pregnant teenage girls si much of what has led to the explosion in tennage pregnancies. There are good reasons for shunning and shaming people who do certain things.
But, for liberals, ignorance is bliss. They want to return to the Garden of Eden, before Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, so they think that just ignoring evil makes it disappear. And those are the few honest, though mind-numbingly stupid, liberals I'm talking about - like 6% of the modern liberals. The rest of the liberal movement is pure, unadulterated evil, itself.

The dirty secret of psychology is that most of what they do is little other than fashion. They decide what is fashionable in a personality and everything else is called a disorder or abnormal. But, at least psychologists can't do much damage, as they can't prescribe drugs, but are restricted to playing children's games with needy patients. The psychiatrists do serious damage with their fashion sense of personality, though, implemented by medication.

Sigh.
We've all got sheep of the darker persuasion somewhere in the family... and some of us might have a lower albedo than we should.

Remember when that evil sick fuck murdered that girl who played Pam Dawber's sister in that sitcom?
Robert Bardo. He looked like something you'd scrape off a toilet.
Remember, the Emperor Augustus once banned all actors from Rome. He recognized what they really were: subversives.

The stories about Satanism and pedophilia at Disney World are hilarious. It seems there was an open-door policy for weirdos"
Rich Jeeley confessed in a Disney Security Statement that he regularly flashed guests at the park for over a year. Disney knew he had an "extensive"' criminal sex crimes record but did nothing until he was caught peeing through guest hotel bedroom windows at night. They fired him but never notified the police.

Supposedly, her history of substance abuse and dropping out of films has made her uninsurable, effectively locking her out of major Hollywood roles. Nobody wants to bank tens of millions of dollars of production cash on a movie with her in it, when there is legitimate concern she won't deliver.
This is why she's now TWICE done the "get naked" photoshoots, a classic female celebrity career CPR move.
This movie is akin to that.

From Casablanca (1942):
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!
[a croupier hands Renault a pile of money]
Croupier: Your winnings, sir.
Captain Renault: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much.
[aloud]

Being sad is only a personality disorder if I turn on the news and find out you've wiped out 10 of your co-workers.
Other than that, wallow away.

349 The real question is, will Lindsay spread cheek and show her chocolate starfish? Cause I might pay $10 to see her gaping pooper on the big screen. Also, I will take pictures no matter what they attendants say.
-------------------------------------------------
It's not the "real" question.
It's your question.
And that makes you special.........
in a "105 sexual predators within a 5-mile radius" criminal investigation kinda way.
You're one of the guys they question when a kid goes missing.
Congrats!

251 Does this film even need a script? Throw Lohan in some 70s clothes and follow her around with a camera on any given day. Scenes write themselves.

Ombudsman@269: "Aldo Ray" and "smoldering sexual tension" do not belong in the same sentence. I had to IMDB to find Fernando Rey, who lusted after the little nun.
