— Gabriel Malor Just a follow-up to my sanctions post from earlier; gosh, I feel like I've heard this story before...just can't quite put my finger on it.
A senior Iranian official said Monday that two U.N. nuclear inspectors have been banned from working in Iran after filing "untruthful" reports on the Islamic Republic's controversial nuclear program. The move signals a more confrontational Iranian stance over its nuclear program after the country was slapped with a fourth round of U.N. Security Council sanctions June 9.
Isn't the limit 12 U.N. resolutions? Eight to go...

Oh, this is really O/T but too funny. From Doug Powers who's subbing for Michelle Malkin, about Chelsea Clinton's upcoming nupitals:
If Ed Mezvinsky, the disgraced father of Chelsea Clinton’s newly-announced fiancé Marc Mezvinsky, attends his own son’s wedding, he might want to consider ducking out before the reception. Mezvinsky was convicted in 2002 of bilking his associates, friends and family members — even his own late mother-in-law — out of millions of dollars. Despite being released in April 2008 after serving five years in prison, Mezvinsky remains on federal probation and still owes almost $9.4 million in restitution to his victims.

Gates in earlier thread..
economic sanctions.
"I don't think we're prepared to even talk about containing a nuclear Iran. I think we're -- we -- our view still is we -- we do not accept the idea of Iran having nuclear weapons. And our policies and our efforts are all aimed at preventing that from happening," he said.
Gates said "targeted economic pressures" has "real potential" to add difficulties to the Islamic Republic, whose government is growing increasingly isolated.
so does anyone actually have a real plan?

From the corner.
Jay,
A lefty Bay Area
friend of mine just told me about a protest that was held to coincide
with the arrival of an Israeli container ship. The protesters hoped to
block the workers from getting in and unloading the ship. The
protesters arrived at the wrong time and instead briefly prevented a
Chinese ship from being unloaded. To me, it is a poetically humorous
result.
She said they claimed victory anyways, which is no big surprise.
"Nope, no big
surprise. But listen, who cares about protesting the PRC — which is
merely a one-party dictatorship with a gulag — when you can protest and
harass Israel, that nasty Jewish state whose inhabitants (Jewish
inhabitants — the Arab ones are cool) can go back to you-know-where!
(Of course, when the Jews were in Europe, in great numbers, they were
told to go back . . . to Israel, ancient and eternal land of the Jews.)"

Increase their Google page rank?
Or just some thuggish effort to dick up the threads?
Seems like the degree of linking wouldn't be necessary (even counterproductive, since it's so disruptive) unless they were trying to troll.
Perhaps the spammers are mad their IPs to their botnets keep getting exposed, or perhaps there's some political aspect to it (doubt the latter).
Just strange shit.
