James Caan: I'm Not a G**damn Hollywood Liberal; I'm "Ultraconservative"
— Ace

I know people complain about these media posts -- some people have just tuned out entirely and don't even want to acknowledge Hollywood exists -- but Jimmy Caan is a big get.

On gay marriage:

“I don’t want to comment on that. I’ll let those other geniuses do that – all those actors who like to find a stage to push their agendas,” he said. “They don’t have political science degrees… I certainly don’t. I’ll leave it to Sean Penn or Barbara Streisand to comment on that.”

29 ALL Hollywood folks should stop making political statements whether they are conservative or not.

It is really dumb for someone who makes their living off of the good will of a public fan base to automatically decrease the size of that fan base by 50% by coming out in support of liberals and their causes. Especially when most people recognize it as phony bullshit anyway.

Then you have to hand it to idiots like the Dixie Chicks who purposely alienate ALL of their fan base.

31 You damn well knew Jimmy Caan was a right-winger.  These guys can't speak out - their careers are on the line - but Hollywood needs them to maintain their legitimacy.  They'd love to get rid of the Bruce Willises and Mel Gibsons, but they know that they have no connection to most Americans without them.  So they tolerate these red-blooded Americans, while keeping most of them on notice that they'd better keep their mouths shut if they want to stay in the business.  The few that speak out are those who have already made themselves indispensable.

I have to strongly disagree.  All of the direct, unyielding assaults on America and the citizenry have been wholly due to the Indonesian Imbecile and his lack of any cultural attachment to America.  None of this crap would have happened with Shrillary - even if she wished she could do it - because there are AMerican parts of Shrillary's psyche that just wouldn't let her do certain things.  This is why everyone except the Indonesian Imbecile (and some conservatives) thought that the health scare was dead, time and time again.  Because they didn't understand the difference between having an American in the Oval Office and having someone with nothing but disdain and contempt for America, our traditions, and our institutions.  This is why even Rahm, of all people, thought that health scare was killed with the Scott Brown election and started parting ways with the Imbecile in public.

No.  It's sad to say, but the Indonesian Imbecile is exactly the problem.  Were it not for him, you would not have seen Congress even attempt to pass an $860 billion porkulus on Friday night without letting anyone read it - only to jet off for vacation (again) as soon as it passed and waiting until Tuesday to sign it ... in friggin' Colorado.  Only the Indonesian could even think to pull off some shit like this.

Of course, now that so many of these long-held traditions and taboos have been destroyed by the Indonesian Imbecile, our political system has been destabilized in that this is now the new normal.   Now, we have a retard in the Oval Office who can nominate a SCOTUS justice based on "empathy" and have it sail through.  Think about anyone else having tried this.  No American would have even dared, and those that dared would not have done it because they would have feared losing the nomination and losing future power in nominations (with respect to getting confirmations).  But, to an Indonesian whose real intention had nothign to do with the SCOTUS, but just mucking up our system and doing as much permanent damage as possible, the empathy route was the logical one.  Break the process or pass the nominee.  Scorched-earth ... just like the other hussein.

There was a very good reason the Founders put the "natural born citizen" restriction in, and America has just gotten an expensive, perverted, and likely fatal, lesson as to why.

That's very true.  But that was a reaction to the psychotic break that the credit crisis brought on.  America certainly knew what they were getting.  Remember what Evan Thomas said the night national suicide was declared:

"... have you ever seen a victory speech where there was no one else on stage? No adoring wife, no cute kid -- he is the message.  There is a slightly creepy cult of personality about all of this."

And that was one of the Indonesian's strong supporters.  Then there was the cover exclaiming that "We're all socialists, now" right after any mention of the word 'socialist' was determined to be "racist".  It was a question about socialism that prompted McShame to declare that the Indonesian Imbecile was "a decent man ... who you don't have to be scared of as Precedent."

But, my point is that, even if Shrillary had run on a full communist plank (or even if Ralph Nader had gotten elected) neither of them would have pushed our governmental processes to breaking.  Neither of them would have trampled over all American tradition or broken every American taboo in sight.  We saw this with Shrillary's attempt to ram health scare down our throats.  She gave up instead of pushing until either it passed or everything it touched in the attempt to pass had broken.  But that is exactly what the Indonesian did - and he did that with everything.  Shrillary never would have even thought of holding a campaign rally in Germany - no American would.  It took an Indonesian to come up with that (which should have gotten him tossed from the race).  Again, America saw the Indonesian hold his biggest rally in Germany.  They knew exactly what sort of insane America-hater they were voting for.  They chose "Suicide by Indonesian".

I double-disagree ... kind of.

Yes, they voted for him to kill the US.  Suicide by Indonesian.  There is no doubt about that.  It was, to many, the ultimate act of atonement to alleviate their illusory, self-generated guilt and promoted in their damaged psyches by the credit crisis.  But my point was that only the Indonesian Imbecile had it in him to do the truly strange, unnatural things (by American standards) that he's done.  No actual American would have even thought to do any of the things that he did.  It's not that they wouldn't want to, but they would be constrained by deep cultural ties that they couldn't help but obey - not by their choice.

And Elliott has made a career of doing Louis La'Amour books for film and holding them true to the story. He was a personal friend of La'Amour before he died. I don't know what his politics are, but anyone who does that is damn OK in my book.

They were also voting for the totally false notion that race should play a role in determining who should be president.

That, I submit, is much of the reason McCain couldn't bring himself to brand Osama Obama as the treasonous, incompetent, cleaned-up street punk he really is.

Would the Traitor-in-Chief have been elected if he was white? Not a friggin' chance. His white counterpart would be a tattooed skinhead, and would be met with derision, not hosannas.

Among the other destructive effects the Chicago Jesus has had on this country is this: another black man, no matter how qualified and capable, will not be elected to the presidency in our lifetimes. If, that is, we have Constitutional, free elections in 2012 and after....

My take on our situation is that Obama is the ultimate poster-child for affirmative action, and proves, beyond the slightest doubt, that elevating someone to a position for which his experience, capability and mental stability absolutely disqualify him can only lead to disaster.

88 I liked James Caan in Alien Nation.  I saw Freebie and the Bean in the theater, and boy did that one suck.

Duvall? Not a good actor...alright, a fair actah, worked with him before, Godfather, Coppolla, maybe you've heard of it.

Cadell? Not a good actor either, but a mean son of a bitch, let me tell you.

90 OT. How can Scott "Tweeder" Caan be your go to receiver in Varsity Blues. He's like 5'2". And if winning the climactic game in the finale was to qualify for the playoffs the following week, why did Mox say he never played again?

91 80 Bruce Willis is NOT a conservative.  I've read articles in which he has overtly, blatantly denied it.  He's a libertarian at best.

He's one of those "conservatives" for whom it begins and ends with their tax rate.  That's fine, but he's one of those guys who sneers at anyone further to the right than that.

Plus, all bets were off in 2008. How many so called conservatives and republicans voted for the creep in the WH because they couldn't resist the thrill of voting for a black president? Puke.

Both Leslie Caron and the chick on Burn Notice, rushed their application through for citizenship so they could vote for the Doh, duh.

I always suspected as much. Caan is the man. an awesome get for conservatives. No wimpy males in touch with their feminine side.

Favorite Can movie, The Thief. It's a jewell.

93 Go see Jimmy Caan in Middle Men.  Great movie just came out last week in limited run.  He's in a supporting role but excellent as usual but sadly aging.  Of course as this is liberal hollywood, there are a couple of slimy, hypocritical politicians depicted in the film.  Of course they just also happen to be Republicans/Conservatives.

95 I like these posts, and of course you can read more about this type of thing at Big Hollywood or Libertas.  People like Obama can get 52% of the vote because his allies in entertainment, education, and the news media have been tilting the playing field for 40+ years.

97 James Caan: I'm Not a G**damn Hollywood Liberal; I'm "Ultraconservative"

Bonus Coverage: Barbra Streisand Hardest Hit.

And by the looks of that nose, maybe more than once.

Alas, I denounce myself for excessive snark on schnoz contact.

99 Fuckin' A.

Thanks, James Caan.  You're not only a great actor, but now I admire your brain and balls as well.

That's enough to make we want to rent some of Las Vegas.

I fucked Barbra so hard she lost her New York accent. She had a great set of tits, and a nice ass. Gave great head, I mean GREAT head. Had her in the grotto along with the Playmate of the Year of 78 in a threeway. Barbra knew her way around a woman's body, let me tell you. Fun to watch.

You wish you could have my life boys, you WISH.

James Woods was always pretty liberal in his spoken statements, stuff he said on Carson in the old days.  9/11 shook him up more than most as he realized he was on the trial flight for Atta and his buddies. Maybe a revelation.

Don't quite know where he shakes out politically though, these days.

Tom Selleck, conservative.  Long time reader of National Review, by his own admission, since his Magnum PI days in the '80's.

Sam Elliott, James Caan, Pat Sajack (Pat Sajack!), maybe Ryan O'Neal (I suspect).  A lot of the Old Guard of Hollywood were conservatives, but they are all dead, and it's all turned upside down in the last generation or so.

An old joke from the '90's: Yes , there aren't many  actors in Hollywood that are conservatives, but one in three of them becomes President of the United States.

I read about that. A month before 9/11, Woods shared a plane with four guys he thought were acting suspiciously, and alerted the flight attendant. After the attacks, he was told by someone in "a higher level of government" than the FBI that all four were involved in the attack on Manhattan.

As for "liberal," he shines in off-camera moments. During the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal, he went on Howard Stern and was asked how a guy like him, who's spent his whole career tomcattin' around, could criticize Clinton for getting some strange. And Woods' answer was "Yeah, but I'm just an actor. This guy is the President of the United States, and he's throwing it all away for a girl whose ass looks like two Shetland ponies fighting under a blanket."

106 You know, he's posed nude before. Back during his prime. That's right, I've seen Caan penis. (It's respectable. Since you asked)
