I've never seen that substantiated anywhere. As far as I know, she really didn't believe them (and I saw at least one or two interviews: if she was dissembling, she was better at it than Clinton).
And, not wanting to have to fend for herself insurance-wise while she had cancer might have had something to do with staying, too.

Past presidents who were victims of intel leaks never had the level of vindictive mean streak that Obama does...not even Nixon.

Now, did she do that for some other reason than simple political ambition? Possibly. But, this is one of the reason why politics is so poisonous - we have a bunch of liars who are politicians, and people in the press who are enablers.

Yes, the "poor victim." We should be celebrating his execution; which is why I have so little faith in law in this country. Not that this case exclusively is the reason, of course, but it's so cut-n-dried that to not exercise it properly and to be so cavalier and malleable as to which laws will/won't be enforced undermines the foundation of the country - the ol' nation of laws not men thing.

He got 20 w/o parole. So he will not get out until 2022. The 20 year sentence was part of a plea-bargain. The Bush DOJ was worried about him getting off completely because of more "alleged torture".
Seeing what has gone down in other trials this year that may have been a good chance. Of course the DOJ doesn't seem too enthused with prosecuting anyone but conservatives right now.

In order to get control of the judiciary it will take one of two things, (1) an article V convention to rewrite the rules for judges or (2) Have 16 years of conservative presidents appointing judges and having all of them rubber stamped by the Senate. (undo FDR)
