Pro tip: it isn't a shrieking freakout followed by a physical altercation. The normal, polite, human thing to do would be to *ask* - not demand - that the other person wait for the next car. If they refuse, then *you* - being the imposition - should exit to wait for the next car. This would be an improvement on her actual behavior, but still not correct behavior. Actually correct behavior is to cede the right of way to someone managing a burden if you do not have a burden of your own. The other person was carrying a box. I don't know how big or heavy it was, but it was still a burden. A polite person, if social distancing is that important, would say, "Oh, I see you have a heavy box. I'll wait for the next car."
This woman should be shunned by her neighbors.

So, it's possible she could have some condition like that or something else that requires treatment with immuno-suppressing drugs.
The question is how bad is it, what is the risk. In my case, it's elevated risk of infection, but not terrible. It's not like any bug out there will kill me.
If she was objectively "extremely immunocompromised", then she shouldn't be outside and should be taking extreme precautions.

We've had a bear in our neighborhood for the better part of 4 years now. It goes around rooting in trash cans, destroying bird feeders, and really, REALLY hates inflatable Christmas lawn ornaments. When it first appeared, I called animal control, but they said it wasn't their problem because it's wildlife. I guess the plan is to wait until it attacks a small child, and then shoot it.

In a small town nearby, there was a school board meeting to discuss whether or not the district would continue to require masks after Abbott ditched the mandate. The superintendent had been given authority last year to basically do whatever TF she wanted, and so she simply made facemasks part of the school dress code.
One of the board members talked about how his elementary age son does not want to take his mask off when he gets home after school, because it makes him feel safe. At home. Think on that.
He added that he says his little boy claims the mask "makes him a superhero!" So of course all the other pro-mask Karens "awwww'd" on cue.
Another parent pointed out the obvious here - that this is NOT NORMAL BEHAVIOR for a tender age child to feel like he needs cloth on his face in order to feel safe in his own home.
That parent has been demonized for weeks now on local soc-meed pages. How dare that parent call the little boy NOT NORMAL!? How dare he attack that precious little boy? You monster!
We are hosed.

We've had a bear in our neighborhood for the better part of 4 years now. It goes around rooting in trash cans, destroying bird feeders, and really, REALLY hates inflatable Christmas lawn ornaments. When it first appeared, I called animal control, but they said it wasn't their problem because it's wildlife. I guess the plan is to wait until it attacks a small child, and then shoot it.

But I DO get crazy with people who want to invade my personal space. I'm probably more irrational about that than before, although I never liked it. Drives me batty.

It must be a PITA, but that comment made me laugh. I don't like inflatable Christmas lawn ornaments either-and as far as I know I'm not part bear. However, as I get older I really dislike inflatable Easter displays because of the religious significance of the Holy Day is important to me. Fortunately, I haven't seen too many inflatable creche scenes.

I still think a civilization that truly cared about progress would have already bioengineered a species of skunk that only sprayed pleasant designer scents like, "lavender fields" and "morning pine" or "summer breeze". Skunks are actually kind of cuddly-looking, with the one real negative being the whole horrid eye-burning unbearable stench. I'd buy a few fabreze skunks.

Whole Paycheck does that stupid thing. When I told them I couldn't wear a mask, they offered me a face shield. I showed them my doctor's letter and continued to refuse, and finally they let me in.
I don't go back there any more. My local Walmarts and Targets are okay, and the local chain grocery varies depending on location. The one that gets my money doesn't bother me.

Pihole doesn't even send the request for the ads. It doesn't even allow the DNS lookup through. I added every fb domain I could find to it, and from what I can see at home, fb might as well not exist. I get the 'no such site' error from the browser if a link sends me there. how do you connect the rasp-pi to the network, physically? what plugs in to where?You plug it in to your switch or WiFi router (most people only have the WiFi router) and configure it to use your ISP's DNS server. Then you reconfigure your WiFi router to use the Raspberry Pi as it's DNS server. This puts the Pi between you and the real DNS. It drops ad requests into a black hole and passes everything else up the chain.
