Latest Blumenthal Ad: Tone Deaf
— LauraW

This actually made me giggle. A friend of mine is working on the Linda McMahon campaign and told me about it today with a big smile.

Everybody says that campaign promises are mostly bull, but I believe this fellow actually means to follow through. On making everything you buy and everything you do more expensive:

The environment. That's what's on everybody's mind right now, AMIRITE?

What I hear when I listen to this ad:

"I will block your access to affordable energy, continue laying waste to the economies of the Gulf states, and then follow the Granholm Plan for economic destruction and urban de-gentrification! MWAA HA HAAA..."

He should have pounded his shoe on a podium right at the end there.

9 Speaking of tone-deaf:

WINCHESTER, VA. - The last major GE factory making ordinary incandescent light bulbs in the United States is closing this month, marking a small, sad exit for a product and company that can trace their roots to Thomas Alva Edison's innovations in the 1870s.
...
What made the plant here vulnerable is, in part, a 2007 energy conservation measure passed by Congress that set standards essentially banning ordinary incandescents by 2014. The law will force millions of American households to switch to more efficient bulbs
...
Rather than setting off a boom in the U.S. manufacture of replacement lights, the leading replacement lights are compact fluorescents, or CFLs, which are made almost entirely overseas, mostly in China.

Thanks Nancy!

To me, Blumenthal is like Eliot Spitzer, without the abrasive personality and promiscuous sex habits.

In other words, a total legal thug (with nicely creased pants) who will work tirelessly to impose his notion of virtue on the rest of us. Connecticut has the highest per capita income in the country, and they have all persuaded themselves that they know best (they are all Greater New Yorkers; all the attitude, none of the slums).

Just once, I would like to see this numb nuts who are all about "clean energy" be asked what powers their cars? And then when they stumble for an answer, you take an ice pick to the gas tank of their car and tell them,"No gas for you!"

Just once.

101 When I was a kid my parents went house hunting in CT.  The realtor kept stressing how important being on Long Island Sound was since "everyone here sails".   So I guess the WS set who sail and belong to golf, swimming and sailing clubs will have to decide if their oil and gas investment are more important than protecting Long Island Sound.   Oddly enough in CT they actually swim in Long Island Sound.  On long island yeah they have beaches on Long Island Sound but no one really swims in it, they go to the atlantic ocean...

102 Now I know what bothers me about this video, it's cause he looks like he's posing for the cover of some shitty bodice ripper.  Dick Blumenthal, the geriatric Fabio!

Linda McMahon really needs to put this asshole through the Spanish announcers table.

104 Ordinarily the environment would not be at the top of my conservative priorities. However, I read that there is an evangelical movement afoot to reinforce our duties as "stewards" of God's bountiful creation. I do not know if I could in good conscience vote against this fine Christian man, or any other similarly-mind Democrat. It is with a heavy heart that I conclude that I will not be pulling any levers this Novmber 2nd.

In this ad you can see he's just spoiling- cannot wait- to start screwing with business on the national level. For the Little Guy, of course.

If he gets into the Senate, he's going to be an ENORMOUS pain in the ass. I don't think you can overstate how big of a business-killer he will aim to be.

132 I just love the green jobs bullshit they keep spewing. Someone needs to ask them what kind of green jobs, how many green jobs and when they'll be available.  Oh that's right, there really won't be any available because the products either aren't developed yet or if they are no one wants to buy them. Fuck all those green job cock suckers.

This drives me nuts.  There's no such thing as 'green job' assholes!  There's manufacturing 'green' products, there's building 'green' structures, hell there's even designing 'green' products, but there's no such thing as a 'green job' that will magically displace all other manufacturing or other economic activity.  These turds act like 'green' tech is a epoch shaking event when all it is is fucking efficiency.  As if industry (or anyone else) was utterly disinterested in getting greater outputs per unit of input until the wise men (and women!) of environmentalism came along to show them The Way.  Fuck them with a pineapple, sideways.
