— Gabriel Malor Heh. This is highschool-level shit-stirring, but it is amusing to imagine how awkward and terrible a public meeting between Vice President Big Effin' Deal and Alvin "Action Figures" Greene.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) mused Friday as to why Biden, who is making a swing through South Carolina on Friday, in part to campaign, hadn't planned a meeting with Greene, his party's nominee."In South Carolina, Dem Senate candidate Alvin Greene has stimulus proposal of his own — will Joe Biden listen?" the RNC wrote, referring to Greene's proposal to manufacture action figures of himself to boost the economy.
Biden has the time to fundraise for Rep. John Spratt, surely he could make time for Greene," the GOP committee added.
The obvious reason is that Greene is going to lose by about 35 percent, so what does it matter? The reason not mentioned at Washington cocktail parties...well, figure it out.

Alvin is the ONLY Black democrat running for the US Senate.
The national party is going to ignore him? Not good.
Where is Nixon's handy man Charlie Black? Get out of FL and come up here and make some mischief!
Sounds a good project for the Jurnolist.
Why is Obama not supporting a Black man? Is Obama's half white making him racist?

It's the Dirty Little Secret of the Party of Inclusion: look below the thin surface, and what you find in control is a bunch of white misfits who seek revenge on the people who ignored them in school. They play adopt-a-pet with other losers like Osama Obama and tolerate outright crooks and race-hustlers like Jackson, Sharpton and Rangel.
Who do we racists have on our side? Walter Williams. Thomas Sowell. Baldilocks. Dozens -- no, hundreds -- of other refutations to the "racism" meme.

Kemp 3 This is a serious matter. It threatens to screw up the Black vote.
I'll just note here (again) that the Texas Dems are also refusing to campaign for the duly-elected primary winner Kesha Rogers...
Check out the progressive sites which call out LaRouche for his racism; and then ask the progressive webmaster how come LaRouche could find a black lady in TX-22 to run, but the mainstream Dems couldn't.
Bring an umbrella for exploded bits of brain matter.
(Oh that reminds me. Kesha? If you and/or one of your organisers are reading this, lay off a little on the British conspiracy theories. Just because LaRouche is an 80-something Person With Problems doesn't mean that you have to campaign like one.)

Profits-to-earnings ratio.
Ventilator - uh, inhalator - uh...
And then there are the unfortunate metaphors:
"Why would you give the keys back to the people who drove the car into the ditch?" Uh, maybe because you campaigned on the promise to get the car out of the ditch -- and when you took office, you didn't show up with a tow truck, you showed up with a dump truck and dumped a load of manure on the car.
"We're going in the right direction": this is just another way of saying "Stay the course," and as with the original post-invasion plan for Iraq, it's blindingly obvious to everyone that the current economic policy is not guiding the economy in the right direction. The Leftards excoriated Bush for "stay the course," but that was far more defensible than Obama's "we're going in the right direction."

The Love Parade is a giant rave party. The people were stampeded, just like the fans at The Who's concert in Cincinnati all those years ago. Vote Alvin Greene!
He has overcome rejection: When the Army told him they were having difficulty finding the right slot for him, he offered to teach at the School of Explosive Ordinance Disposal only to be held back and let go. To be let go by jealous people in the Army was quite the blow but he overcame it.
He is frugal: Do you know of anyone else who could save enough unemployment checks to pay a $10,000 filing fee and then actually run a Senatorial campaign?
He is modest: He says nothing about himself.
He is thoughtful about all issues facing the American people: He does not speak in haste.
He is a family man: He is still at home with his mother.
Vote for South Carolina! Vote for America!

It's the fourth reason: his candidacy highlights the sheer incompetence and chaos in the Democrat Party. He can't beat DeMint, but the higher his profile, the worse for the Dems -- they either have to denounce him, a Black man who won the nomination fair and square, or embrace him, a slow-witted ne'er-do-well who's charged with a sex-related felony. So conservatives just want to make sure he doesn't get swept under the carpet or shoved back into the crazy relations' attic.

I get so tired of almost everyone missing the core of this law and how it has nothing to do with Congress' Constitutional power to make "uniform laws of naturalization". The only states that are changing the legal status of aliens are those which issue documentation to illegals, thereby legalizing their status, against the federal legal determination.

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner on Thursday waived off complaints by business leaders that President Obama’s health care and financial regulation laws are creating uncertainty and freezing job creation, arguing that the administration has actually provided “a lot of clarity” for the private sector.
“Businesses always want their taxes lower and always want to live with low regulation,” Geithner said. “There is nothing remarkable, or particularly interesting frankly, that we’re in the midst of another debate, which you hear in almost any administration, with people looking for ways to help affect the outcome on the basic path of regulation and taxes.”
“Every business in America today is in a much better position than they were, not just 18 months ago, but than I think many of them expected to be at this point,” Geithner said at a breakfast with reporters hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

LAS VEGAS – President Barack Obama made an election-season appeal Saturday to disgruntled liberal activists and bloggers, assuring them his administration is committed to their causes and urging them to help elect Democrats in November.
"Change hasn't come fast enough for too many Americans. I know that," Obama said in a surprise video appearance at the annual Netroots Nation convention. "I know it hasn't come fast for many of you who fought so hard during the election."
That's odd. The MFM keeps telling us that Barry isn't a liberal but a moderate. Barry says he's not a socialist but claims that he is committed to socialist and far left causes. Hmmm

Hey Barry, when you get off the golf course this afternoon, you may want to have someone in your administration check this out and possibly do something about it:
Breaking: MULTIPLE RANCHES IN LAREDO, TEXAS TAKEN OVER BY MEXICAN INSURGENTS http://bit.ly/db8B7G
Story is now 100% confirmed by second source within the Laredo Police Department
The bloodbath continues along our southern border and now word is coming in that Los Zetas, the highly trained killers formerly with the Gulf Cartel, have crossed into the United States and taken over at least two ranches in the Laredo, Texas area. I am receiving word that the owners of the ranches have evacuated without being harmed. As of this hour I cannot confirm 100% on the situation (I am at around 90%) - though the source is law enforcement in the area.
The ranches are said to be Âgnear Mines Rd. and Minerales Rd. about 10 miles NW of I-35ÂÂ.
Whether it is lone members or squads is not certain.
Anonymous sources in law enforcement in the Laredo area tonight have passed on word that US law enforcement agencies are in the area and are weighing their options regarding the ranches. The media has been silent on this incident and some law enforcement in the area says that they are furious that the media is not reporting the whole story of the continued violence along the border. Their frustrations are understandable because keeping the truth suppressed continues to hamper law enforcement from receiving the true support they need along the border.

Afternoon!
Hope everyone is keeping cool.
I'm a bit behind on things and just went back and re-read the Sherrod thread from yesterday.
Two thing-- actually no--three
1. Jimi (if you're reading). Your story was dismissed. It made me sick to my stomach reading what happened to you in '83.
2. Yikes. That thread was vile. Someone pointed it out, may have been Vic, that IL and IN have more Klan activitiy than the South. I can't speak for IL, but having grown up in IN, I can say, sadly, without a doubt, he's right. And anyone having driven through Martinsville, IN knows what I'm talking about.
3. I guess I should take this opportunity to apologize to all the people I've been a complete bitch to on this website. Reading that thread was a good reminder that I'm not always on my best behavior as well. There have only been a few and it's a blanket apology. You probably know who you are.

A NATO official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of search operations, confirmed the two were Navy personnel, but would not identify their unit to avoid jeopardizing search operations. The official said it was unclear what the two were doing or what would lead them to leave their compound. The official would not say whether the two were on official business.
The Taliban have not contacted the coalition force to claim responsibility or make any demands for their release, the official said.
Gul, the district chief in Charkh, said that a four-wheel drive armored sports utility vehicle was seen Friday night by a guard working for the district chief's office. The guard tried to flag down the vehicle, carrying a driver and a passenger, but it kept going, Gul said.
They stopped in the main bazaar of Charkh district. The Taliban saw them in the bazaar," Gul said. "They didn't touch them in the bazaar, but notified other Taliban that a four-wheel vehicle was coming their way."
The second group of Taliban tried to stop the vehicle, but when it didn't, insurgents opened fire and the occupants in the vehicle shot back, he said.
NATO said a search is under way for the missing service members. According to Gul, one may have been killed and the other taken hostage by the Taliban.
"Maybe they wanted to go to Paktia province or to the American base, but they came down the wrong road toward Charkh," Gul said. "They didn't pay any attention to the police. Otherwise we could have kept them from going into an insecure area and now this unfortunate incident has happened."

I thought it was just me.
I have lately found Taco Bell to be almost offensively bland with criminally bad textures.
Should I go to Taco Bell or should I mound an unappealing glop of mayonnaise between two slices of cardboard?
Eh, TB is probably cheaper and definitely more convenient. (Who the hell has cardboard lying around in their pantry?)
I know that at some point, I found TB to be crave-worthy.
"No I don't want Mexican food, I've got a hankerin' for some Taco Bell. There's a difference."
It can't be that my palette has gotten that much more sophisticated since my youth (which it certainly has) because I eat all sorts of fast food crap all the time and can still appreciate them on their merits.
It's just Taco Bell, the Fillet O' Fish sammy from McDonald's and French Fries in general that are somehow wrong (according to my youthful memories) and consistently crappy lately.
Not saying that I ever thought that Taco Bell was some sort of pinnacle of the culinary arts.
But I do remember a meal from TB being enjoyable (in it's way, for what it was) back in the day.
Not so much now.
I don't think I've changed nearly as much as they have.

250 I'm from the area Vic was probably alluding too (I'm sitting almost right on top of the southern IL/IN border. Yes, the Klan is very active in the area. Or at least it was -- it doesn't seem to be as prevalent as it used to be -- but they were damn nasty and very shameless with some of their shit (and it wasn't just Blacks who were at the receiving end of their bs either; partly because they had to really look for somebody to pick on when they were Saturday night drunk). Yes, I can remember them threatening my grandpa and burning crosses in our yard...and not being allowed to eat at a restaurant ran by a Grand Dragon (which we did not know about -- it was just over the border in IN and we didn't know the place's reputation or management -- we found out); my mom and the people (family and close friends) we were with were allowed in, but my dad, grandma, and me? No, we were "not the right kind; why did you bring your field hands in with you?" (which was kinda funny actually, because we were related to the whitey whitebread folks and, if we hd tried going in there in the winter time, we would have passed the paperbag test...assholes).
I also know that no "white" person would jump to the aid of my family or the neighbors (a Polish Catholic/eastern European Jew family) when they pulled this shit -- because we couldn't be getting picked on by the Klan; we couldn't be victims of their bullshit because of our lack of pigmentation. I also learned that this was not about being "not racist" or hating racism (or just fucking uncivil, immoral, and nasty behavior), it was about them getting to feel good about themselves -- no justice need be involved.
It gave me a very interesting perspective on the whole thing. I suppose I should be happy for that.

Wow, touched a nerve? You seem so concerned with Alvin Greene's tender feelings. Remember that he chose to throw his hat into the ring. Remember also that he served honorably in the Armed Forces, and so is not a "special person" who needs the kid-glove treatment. He's just a garden-variety dumbass, and one can only surmise that you're defending him out of professional courtesy.

274 I went to school in Bloomington.
Driving back from Indy one night we stopped for gas in M'ville. We got turned around and ended up in the backwoods. We saw them burning crosses. Several of them. This was in 1997. My passenger was a friend of mine. He was black. He ducked down until we could find the highway again. Surely they would have strung us both up if we'd been spotted together.
Back in the 20s, the D.C. Stephonson, the Grand Dragon resided in Noblesville which had a very strong Klan presence. Luckily Noblesville is more multi-ethnic these days.
Anyway, I know, IN isn't considered 'the South' for purposes of any discussion. But the South was taking a lot of nuncessary crap in that other thread. Every state has its hilljacks. Some have more. But every state has pockets and the potential for crazy.

Sorry EX-DEM, but you have just got to stop fucking politicizing fucking everything!
Teenage girl gets knocked up by douchetool boyfriend, no better, no worse than the other douchetools on the Hockey team but kinda cute.
Blah blah blah blah blah, SARAH PALIN! blahh blah blah blah blah? RICKY HOLLYWOOD! blah bah blah blahhhh.... KATHY GRIFFEN! blah blah blergh...
End of the day.
Two kids doin' wot has been done since time immemorial.
Even though I doubt, I have my hopes that Levi Jhonston will someday turn into a good husband to Bristol and a good father to Tripp.
Not to have any sort of ideological point proved or disproved.
I just wish the best for all those kids.
Who wouldn't?
Really has nothing to do with Sarah Palin the political figure, she's just Grandma at this point.
Two young folk who started a family, badly.
Hope for the best, for all of them.

That info I was putting out last night came from a site that had done a lot of study of the Klan and it is several years old. The data I think originally came from FBI crime statistics.
The klan violence in the South occurred mainly during the second era of the klan which began in the 20s and which had pretty much died out with WWII in the 40s.
The current version of the klan is not a single organization. It is more of a bunch of individual local organizations.
You get several "good old boys" on a drinking binge one night and soon they have formed a new social club with bed sheets. They get in their pickup truck and drive around town with someone riding in the back desecrating a confederate naval ensign in the back.
They don't do that too much any more though because the DUI laws have got too strict and MADD monitors the local cops and judges so you can no longer make a 5K donation to a "local charity" and get off.

I wish the best to those kids as well, but it's tough to deny that, despite his age, Johnston is a tool, and I fear the only reason he got back into the swing of things with Bristol is because it keeps him commercially viable.
In fact, I think he's so scummy, that I would venture a bet he's providing inside scoop for that creep writer that moved in next door.

Heh.
Who knew that the downturn in cross-burnings might be due to MADD?
Brilliant bit of fucking insight, that right, there Vic.
Still don't like MADD all that much for a variety of reasons but kinda happy to hear about a good unintended consequence.
This is why I'm headin' for your porch.

Stuic has an, um, unusual theory. He stated on a thread here not too long ago that Obama's intentions are to move both Wall Street and the nation's capital to Chicago, presumably so that the Chicago Mob can run the country more conveniently from Chicago, or for some other insideously and diabolically loony purpose. Who knows his loony rationale for that loony theory? But that's what he said in one of the most bizarre theories ever posted here.
Quick, throw a net over that loony before he gets away. Stuic is one of our loonies here who has special needs.

LOL, that was meant to be a little bit of humorous snarc. Funny because it does have an element of truth in it.
Posted by: Vic at July 24, 2010 03:04 PM (/jbAw)
I must have missed that thread. It must have been a good one. And, although I've never heard that theory espoused, and although it does sound "loony", I'm going to give Stuic an A for creativity and an A+ for catching on to the fact that nothing, no thing, no matter how loony, should ever be considered out of the realm of possibility when it comes to The Administration and the various other numbnuts with whom the POTUS surrounds himself.
Seriously.
Throw something out there. Almost anything, and then tell me that Obama and his minions would try to do it if they could get by with it.

In other news, regarding U.S. Supreme Court nominee, Elena Kagan, and in a rambling speech by Senator Arlen Spector televised by C-SPAN, that senile, old fool just contradicted himself 23 times in just the past 10 minutes, alone, with respect to his desultory reasoning as to why he believed that Kagan is eminently qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice, and all the while, Senator Patrick Leahy was nodding his head approvingly (or perhaps he had a nervous tick), even though it was apparent that everybody else in that hearing didn't know what the fuck Spector was babbling about.
In fact, Gates' eyes were glazing over and he was noticeably tuning-out everything that Spector said. It would have been funny if it wasn't so scary that anyone like those two loonies, Spector and Leahy, ever got elected to Congress. Those guys are around the bend, even loonier than our little stuic is, and that is loony. But then, hey, that makes our little stuic eminently qualified to be a Senator, well, in the opinions of Spector and Leahy, I'll betcha. If they like Kagan, they'll love our loony, little stuic.

280 See, the thing of it is, just by proximity you (and others on here) would probably take one look at me and mine (especially if we were driving around in our pickup coming back from a fishing trip or picking up a load of hay) and say: yeah, look at those (racist, retard) hiljacks, and probably think something "should be done about us". Never knowing anything about the back story or the fact that members of my family have had to deal with crap.
Like I said -- unique perspective on race relations.
