— Ace The annoying thing is he thinks he's oh-so-clever but I knew his "shock reveal" by his headline.
Much of the controversy over Cordoba House has focussed on its location. Critics rage that it’s a mere two blocks from the 9/11 site—way too close. Defenders counter that it’s two whole blocks from the 9/11 site—by lower Manhattan standards, real far. Critics say it should be put somewhere else, though they tend to be vague about where. Even some defenders have timidly wondered whether some other spot might be more “appropriate” in terms of the symbolism of it all.Fortuitously, there exists one location that would be ideal for the so-called “Ground Zero mosque.” That location would be . . . Ground Zero.
And blah-blah-blah.
Thanks to Allah.

The snootiness just dripped from my monitor when I read that idiot's piece. Our first Amendment is not, and was never intended to be, a suicide pact. Imho, we've reached the point where we're just about all out of tolerance for a group of people who want to destroy us and our way of life.
We are correct and justified to say no to the GZM. I'm sorry if that's insensitive, but the needle on my give-a-shit-ometer just won't move, especially today.
And that bozo preacher up the road from me certainly isn't helping matters.

I am sick of the blather from Osama Obama, Bloomberg and everyone right down to the deluded, brain-dead readers of the NY Slimes who see building a Muzzie monument at Ground Zero as some kind of "win" for America.
I am intolerant: I hate those who murder my fellow Americans, and despise their enablers. All of them.
I am intolerant: I do not believe the war we're in will be won until the "peace-loving" Muzzies learn that they, too, are subject to laws of decency that have evolved since the Sixth Century. When there are no Rage Boys threatening injury to my nation, when there are no Imam Raufs threatening us with Muzzie outrage if we don't submit to Allah's will, we will win.
Until then, we are prisoners of war, with our own Vidkun Quisling running the internment camp.

Oh, say! can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming;
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:
Oh, say! does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In fully glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution!
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust":
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Has anyone else (and this being the internet, I'm sure someone has, and more articulately) pointed out that the very fact that Petraeus and company have had to come out and plead with the nut-stasche down in Florida not to have his koran cookout concretely proves islam is NOT a religion of peace?
Posted by: nightwitch at September 11, 2010 10:53 AM (SbaLN)
The principal goals of Cordoba House, as outlined by Feisal Abdul Rauf (Hamas supporter IIRC) in the Times,
are to promote “recognition of the rights of others, tolerance and
freedom of worship” (which do not exist in the Muslim world - perhaps he should start his "work" there first?); to facilitate “building bridges between religious
groups” (by calling those who are genuinely concerned about the wisdom of putting a mosque 2 blocks away where 3000 Americans were murdered in the name of Islam bigots and racists); “to strengthen relations between the Western and Muslim
worlds” (by implying that if this mosque isn't built there will be trouble - sounds more like a threat to me); “to help counter radical ideology” (if he doesn't see Hamas as "radical", what is "radical" Islam to him?); to serve as “a center for
unification and healing” (because veiled threats and name-calling do wonders in bringing people together...); and to undermine “the ability of anti-American
radicals to recruit young, impressionable Muslims by falsely claiming
that America persecutes Muslims for their faith.” (so it's only on this spot that Muslims can properly practice their faith, not in mosques all across "The fruited plain"?)
It would be hard to imagine a more powerful, pointed, passionate
rebuke to Al QaedaÂ’s brand of twisted Islamism than for an open-hearted
cultural and religious institution representing the tolerant, democratic
Muslims of New York to be part of the risen World Trade Center.
The only "passionate rebuke" to Al Qaeda and other Islamists that I recommend are guided missiles and waves of lead.

It's dumber than that. What they want is to stick it to conservatives/Republicans by any way available. Period. And they're just stupid enough, and arrogant enough, to think that they can introduce Sharia to get us without any sort of whiplash effect hitting them.
Or they're just reckless and stupid enough to think no further than "conservatives oppose X, so we support X, regardless of what X might happen to be."

That's why it's called Cordoba House. After the Moors slaughtered the men, raped the women and enslaved the children with the help of local malcontents who eagerly became dhimmis, there were unicorns and Skittle showers for the 300 years before the Muslims went back to fighting amongst one another and killing the Jews. But Skittles... mmmmmm!

1. The principal goals of the 9/11 attacks were to ignite a civilizational war between Islam and the West.............They don't have a civilization and they started the war because they didn't like civilization.
2.to marginalize moderate Muslims and strengthen violent Islamists;....moderate? don't think so, never was, never will be.
3. to expose American religious tolerance and pluralism as a sham........it wasn't a sham. That's how they got here in the first place. They only proved it was foolish PC bullshit.
4. and to recruit young Muslims to the most brutal, retrograde, reactionary form of jihad." ...................Because the other forms of jihad are sweet, modern, and calm? What horseshit.

If you're in a rural area, talk to the local slaughterhouse. They'll be in the phone book under "Custom Processing", or some such euphemism.
If you're in an urban area, look somewhere else. I'd suggest a farming community.
Seriously, they'll give you the guts. If they ask why you want three 55-gallon fuel drums full of pig intestines, tell them you're going to till them into your grandma's vegetable garden before winter hits. She insists.
Posted by: Herr Morgenholz at September 11, 2010 11:20 AM (0Fp9E)
It has been a long-standing tradition of Islam that they build a mosque on the most respected places they have managed to capture, either through demographics or through dint of armed conflict. (Cf, the Hagia Sophia, Solomon's Temple, Cordoba, and the largest mosque in Europe directly across the river from the Vatican) (and I have no doubt that they would build one in St. Peter's Square if they thought they could arrange it).
If they were truly interested in moderating Islam, they would allow churches and synagogues in Muslim countries. So here's an offer: Let's have as many churches and/or synagogues in Saudi Arabia as there are mosques in NYC, then we can talk about letting them build another one.

It's more than that. It's a psychological problem on the left.
There are two ways to combat evil:
1. confront
2. deny
Generally conservatives confront. Which is generally (IMHO) the better solution.
As for the "deny" response, well, here's how that goes: liberals are too scared to confront those who might kill them. Yet they have this anger that needs to go somewhere. So.. they use displacement.
Consequently, they can scream "racist" at conservatives, or say Bush is Hitler, and fear no reprisals. However, they cannot do the same to the Muslims, because they will be in store for a head removal. They have simply found a suitable release for their anger in their minds.
/yes, I'm saying that liberals are mental cases.

Can anyone even imagine Winston Churchill saying, 'We are not and never will be at war with Naizsm'?
Can anyone even imagine Abraham Lincolnl saying, 'We are not and never will be at war with slavery'?
Can anyone even imagine the local police saying, 'We are not and never will be at war with child rapists and women murderers'?
Of course, we know who's side you are on, Barack Obama, you psychopath. Why do you hate Western Civilization and human rights so? Did you even shed a tear on 9/11? I seriously doubt it.
