— Ace Wow. So it's recount or bust, eh?
Yesterday, the 5-member Executive Committee of the Board of the Libertarian State Party meet in an emergency session to consider Sen. MurkowskiÂ’s bid for the partyÂ’s nod. After a contentious three-hour meeting, the Board voted unanimously to deny Sen. Murkowski the partyÂ’s nomination.
Thanks to someone, who noted that old/dirty/b_tard had linked it in comments.

Money and a guaranteed spot on the ballot. If the party got over 5% of the vote, they'd get a guaranteed spot. Murk would have done that. Also the million bucks she is rumored to offer probably got them to thinking.

Maybe his latest arm candy hasn't figured it out yet.
O/T - anyone who is a fan of "Friday Night Lights" - the book, movie, and/or TV show: Author Buzz Bissinger was subbing for a regular sports yakker the other night. He started his program - on a sports station - with a tirade about Alberto Pujols and Tony LaRussa attending the 8/28 rally. He called the attendees a "bunch of TEA party nuts", and ranted about how he and LaRussa wrote a book together but this action ended their "friendship".
So there it is. The creator of Friday Night Lights is a major leftard commielib patriot slanderer.

I always thought rosemary clooney and hope were republicans but I could be wrong. Cloony seemed to have matured, to have tempered. Guess maybe he is beginning to realize what really is important. I've noticed when people grow up and mature and realize what really matters they start to apply this to politics and go towards the reaganites. (notice I didn't say the republicans...)

No surprise there- Buzz Bissinger is a smug pig who used to write for "Philadelphia" magazine. the topic of abortion has been coming up a lot lately with my friends. Essentially they begin with the "do you want to go back to the 'back ally abortions" meme and I counter with the "can we continue as a nation to allow some women to use abortion as if it was birth control" and that is where we begin to talk. No one likes the idea that abortion is being used as birth control and that is where the republicans have to start to have a discussion with women.
I'm feeling from my friends that there is a meeting point somewhere so that there aren't anymore "back alley abortions" but there aren't any abortions solely as birth control.

Yep. I don't know him, but I know several people who do. Not a nice guy, from what I've heard
I know several people who knew him both from Augusta High and NKU (where he flunked out after one semester) and some guys that played against him in baseball..
...seriously...you cannot get one nice word from any of them about him
Check out this picture of the douchebag when he was younger...no wonder he's such a fucking jerkoff..
...he's still mad at the world

Pujols is a stand-up guy, an endangered species in the world of professional sports. Bissinger exposed himself as a true unhinged looney leftard by his inability to contain his outrage and high dudgeon re: LaRussa's "betrayal". I half expected him to start to punctuate his sentences with "SIR!", a la Keith Doodeydouche.
Buzz is also very impressed himself. The blurb for his website informs us that he is "one of the nation's most distinguished authors."

Having to keep one's sexual orientation a secret could make one grumpy.
Think about it - he has to escort Hollywood up and coming Bimbo (number 342) to the Emmys/Oscars/Golden Globes, when he would much prefer Ricky Martin as his date.

I often wonder how people go through life being "a dick". I have a friend who runs her business like that. She knows they don't like her but doesn't care. She makes the "devil wears prada" lady look like mother theresa. The other day I asked her why she prefers the scrooge model to the "my employees love me and the company model" and her answer was "I get results, that's all that matters". I suddenly realized that this person is the reason the dems feel that everything has to be a law, to make you human, warm and fuzzy, you have to be made to do it. She was asking me to do something for her and I turned her down and she was offended since we are friends. I was like "heck I don't want to do any work for a person who has employees that would leave her in the burning building and not rescue her"....that ended our little exchange.

Fuck curious, that is what "back alley" abortions where all about, birth control. I don't think there was ever a woman in this country that was denied an abortion due to medical necessity. The whole "back alley" was overblown anyway to make it seem like an epidemic of women dying from botched abortions. It was the "meme" before there were "memes".
Hell, even in my home state of Alabama a woman could get an abortion with the approval of a board of doctors that it was medically necessary.

With condoms, multiple forms of birth control and the morning after pill, I think the fact that there are so many abortion clinics is reprehensible. With all these options the abortion rate should be near zero right now.

Yes. Because that was always bullshit. An emergency C-section is a life-saving procedure. An abortion is a lifestyle-saving procedure.
You could have swallowed or took one across the sweater ponies. Sex has consequences. Grow the fuck up.

Abortion clinics are, in many states, the only medical facilities exempt from state regulation for safety and cleanliness. In Washington state, they can be certified by Planned Parenthood or the National Abortion Federation instead of a proper medical accreditation body!
And the left wants to keep it that way. Look at the shit-fit they've thrown in Virginia when their AG started to change this...

Yeah, the whole "back-alley abortions" scaremongering bullshit was an invention -- by his own admission -- by Bernard Nathanson to try to get the head of NOW to come on board the mass infanticide train (imagine the days when NOW was actually not just a shrill one-note baby-butcher advocacy group). There is zero evidence that self-inflicted abortions were ever a remotely common occurrence.

If I recall, Friday Night Lights (the original book) was a none-too-flattering portrait of Texas high school football, so I'm not really surprised.
