But it reads like some mid-level hack reacting to a mid-1990s Bill Clinton speech. It doesn't speak about the fiscal, social, and foreign disaster of this Presidency thus far.

Look at this: "Some people are afraid that America is no longer the great land of promise that she has always been." This isn't a "Somesay the Strawmanarian" opinion. It's almost half of the country.

And this: "America must always be a land where liberty and property are valued and respected, and innocent human life is protected." Pro-life-ness is good, but it doesn't FIT in this speech, which has nothing to do with abortion. And it's not the nation's biggest concern.

The whole thing reads like something that came out of a committee, of robots. TRS-80 robots at that.

Commenter "this is boner" told us that McDonnell was a bad choice. I flamed him for that. Well, it turns out I owe "this is boner" an apology. McDonnell was, in retrospect, a terrible choice. They should have picked Dick Armey or Michelle Bachmann.

Well damn, I thought you were pulling my leg with the Chris Matthews comment, but it looks as though he did indeed say that -- seems like the lefties have been allowing their obsession with skin color show a bit much lately doesn't it?

This night may need a poll concerning how many truly rude, obnoxious things were said and to how many different groups of people. The only hope I have is that people can take the blinders off and notice just how rude and obnoxious the whole thing really was (and I didn't even watch that much of it and still found the parts I watched really freaking rude!).
