Marco Rubio's First TV Ad
— DrewM

I'd say it's safe to say he's move beyond Charlie Crist and is looking forward to the general election.

I normally hate, "do it for the children" appeals but if the thing we should be doing for them is 'stand up to Obama, not join with him', then I'm in. A very sweet ad, with a great partisan punch...nicely pulled off.

Oh and an addendum to yesterday's PPP poll showing Rubio trouncing Crist, it doesn't matter if Charlie runs as an independent or even a Democrat, he's in big, big trouble.

An independent Charlie Crist bid for the US Senate would work to Marco Rubio's advantage, because Crist would win more Democratic votes than Republican ones. In a hypothetical three way contest Rubio leads with 34% to 27% for Crist and 25% for Kendrick Meek.

Crist gets 32% of the Democratic vote but only 18% of Republicans running as an independent. He also leads among independents with 35% to 24% for Rubio and 22% for Crist.

Crist's overall approval rating now is a 35/51 spread. He's most popular with Democrats at a 45% approval rating followed by independents at 29% and Republicans at 28%.

Right now PPP has Rubio up by 5 or less in a heads up contest with Meek. Still given where Rubio came from against Crist, there's every reason to believe as more people see Rubio they will like him. That's why he's already started pivoting to position himself for the general.

ROFLMAO.  If it's OK for NASCAR drivers to get back waxings, then we can forgive Marco for that.

Outstanding ad, by the way.

You need to ask Charlie "Spray-tan" Crist that question, IYKWIM.

20 Good ad, ends a little weird on the video side where he is looking away from the camera.  Looks like this seat will be safe for repubs and a gain for conservatives.

I hunted up Rass's last poll on FL and it is over a month old so it is no good. It does show eiher Rubio or Christ beating the Dem with Rubio winning by a slightly higher margin.

I think if Rass did a newer poll it would show a wider margin.

22 "Do it for the children appeals" usually call for the government to spend money it doesn't have on something stupid or corrupt.

This calls for reducing spending for the children - count me in.

FL Morons - who is going to challenge Grayson?

Have 2 candidates - State Rep. Kurt Kelly and businessman Bruce O'Donoghue. O'Donoghue was recruited by the RCCC, in part, because he can self-finance. And that may be important, considering Grayson's personal wealth and spike in fundraising after his "Republican Health Care Plan: Die Quickly" remark.

Posted by: Mallamutt at March 10, 2010 12:54 PM (V9SYy)

Other candidates I'm aware of are Ken Miller, Dan Fanelli and Todd Long.

Chris Christie / Marco Rubio 2012

We need to give them time to develop a record on the issues before 2012. After that we can answer with a bit more certainty.

Meek makes Obama look like a mental giant. He's a total imbecile.

As for Rubio, I'm not normally the kind of lady who fantasizes about men other than my husband. However, if Rubio weren't married and I weren't married.... well I'll just leave it at that. Conservative + Hot = Goodness.
