— Ace We can rally tomorrow to take back Congress, repeal the bill, and impeach the Communist in Chief's ass once we get subpeona power and are able to find out all the laws he's broken to pass this one.
For now, let's grieve over the damage that's been done in one fell blow.
If Barack Obama does nothing else in his term in office, this will make him one of the most consequential presidents in history. It's a huge transformative event in Americans' view of themselves and of the role of government. You can say, oh, well, the polls show most people opposed to it, but, if that mattered, the Dems wouldn't be doing what they're doing. Their bet is that it can't be undone, and that over time, as I've been saying for years now, governmentalized health care not only changes the relationship of the citizen to the state but the very character of the people. As I wrote in NR recently, there's plenty of evidence to support that from Britain, Canada and elsewhere.More prosaically, it's also unaffordable. That's why one of the first things that middle-rank powers abandon once they go down this road is a global military capability. If you take the view that the US is an imperialist aggressor, congratulations: You can cease worrying. But, if you think that America has been the ultimate guarantor of the post-war global order, it's less cheery. Five years from now, just as in Canada and Europe two generations ago, we'll be getting used to announcements of defense cuts to prop up the unsustainable costs of big government at home. And, as the superpower retrenches, America's enemies will be quick to scent opportunity.
Longer wait times, fewer doctors, more bureaucracy, massive IRS expansion, explosive debt, the end of the Pax Americana, and global Armageddon. Must try to look on the bright side...
He also aims to make Republicans partners in the destruction of America, by making us endorse his cataclysmic irresponsibility -- when we take back Congress, we will be faced with two vicious choices: Raise taxes ruinously, or allow the country to repudiate its debt and go bankrupt. Because the best option -- repealing the bill -- will be impossible until a real President is installed and next-to-impossible thereafter.

I'm trying to remember who is was on Fox that spoke to how much of what congress is doing will not require the tough part to begin until after Obama is out of office. He will stand around and say that he delivered FOR America and that the moment a Republican got into office our taxes went up and the economy worsened and our debt tripled, etc...
The sad part is that many voters will never, ever track it back to what congress is doing right now.
Think about it, how many people still blame Reagan for the financial disaster that he inherited?

A red line has been crossed. The reaction from the electorate--the ones who consent to be governed as long as the government wields power responsibly--will be unprecedented.

I have no doubt in my mind that is why the so-called grass-roots coffee party was started, to operate in direct opposition to anything the GOP tries to roll back when they take power. Knowing the msm, if ten of them show up to protest, they will say at least ten thousand of them showed up.
Also, knowing the current GOP like I do, when they are called out as being a bunch of rich, old, white meanies who want to deny poor people and minorities their health care, they will shrink back and cower from the barrage and do absolutely nothing. That is why idiots like McCain, Graham and those two old spinsters from Maine have got to go.

Example why this won't work.......
As I said before, I am German and lived there till I was 20. Now the unified Germany has a population of 85 million tops. What was once a good start for healthcare in a divided Germany is now a crushing taxation. Income tax is skyrocketin, not to mention VAT, but the services keep getting lowered, co pays get increased and still the German economy is in shambles. My mother still lives there and she cannot afford the doctor bills, because her small pension stayed the same for years while the bills went up. And that is only for 85 million. Imagine the beaurocracy for a pop. of 300 million? No way in hell without bankrupting this country.
Excuse my spelling....

Cantor and Ryan are quietly pushing the “Repeal and Replace” the legislation for Health Care. They understand that to just repeal it would be characterized by their opponents as taking something away from the citizens. Nothing moves in Congress now, between now and November. Including judges. Pressure every possible state government to nullify Ocare on 10th Amendment and other grounds. State AG's file federal suits. Someone has to get Tea Party groups organized and call a 5-million person DC march. Come January, 2011, the pieces of this crap sandwich get absolutely zero authorization or appropriations. IRS is specifically prohibited in new spending bills to use resources to enforce it. If Bambi objects to the spending bills, he can veto them. Unlike 1995, no backing down to the president on spending bills--if he blocks them, he owns the shutdown.
One last thing. Everyone needs to become a Refusnik. Refuse to submit. Refuse to fill out IRS Ocare sections of tax forms. Personal nullification. Make them come and get it. Molon Labe.

Don't forget to blame the social conservatives!
You guys are going through the AoS Stages of Loss.
First it's inflated optimism. Then it's scapegoating (and deflecting) by calling out 'concern trolls' and 'eeyores.'
Then it's disbelief and denial.
Then, anger. That's where we we're at now. Anger. And if I'm right, you're just about to turn on the social conservatives, the final stage of AoS Loss.
Posted by: This is Me at March 21, 2010 03:04 PM (W6O4M)
More importantly, there needs to be a first time--second if you count the 1988 bill which never went into effect.
Keep in mind that until Reagan liberated Grenada in 1982--a liberation greeted gratefully by the local populace--it could be said that no country had ever been freed from Communism. Seven years later, all of eastern Europe was, and the USSR itself fell in 1991.
Also, until 2004, no federal gun control law had ever been repealed. In that year, the "assault weapons ban" was sunsetted amid growing public opposition to gun control. In 2008, the Supreme Court overturned the DC ban on firearms; gun control increasingly looks like a lost cause for the Left.
Having turned the tide against Communism and gun control, there is no reason whatsoever that we can't turn the tide against welfare state entitlements beginning with repealing this bill and then moving on to Medicare and Social Security.

Cantor is not the knight in shining armor Virginians think him to be. He gets a case of linguini spine every now and again. Last year, instead of putting himself out front and center at the start and opposing this monstrosity, he chose to go to townhalls with that douchebag Bobby Scott and find some kind of bi-partisan common ground.
Thankfully the tea parties brought him back to reality.

It's OVER. This thing is never going to be repealed. EVER.
What can be done, however, is limit it. Argue to White voters that someone is going to get screwed. Either it will be Blacks and Hispanics, or Whites. But someone is going to get preferential treatment, someone is going to be preferred in Medical School, someone is going to get all the student loans in the takeover of Student Loans, and someone will get nothing.
Don't let it be Whites. Let it be non-Whites, and make sure that non-Whites are an ever decreasing not increasing part of the population.
Sure this will be called "racist" but so what? It is true that the Government will pick racial winners and losers.
The argument that wins is that Whites MUST be the dominant force in population and politics.
First up is Obama's plan to make instant citizens of half of Mexico. So we ought to point out, particularly to White Women, we can pay for NOW without new taxes and loss of quality, free breast cancer screening every six months and world class treatment, as long as we kick out every possible illegal, and restrict Welfare folks from getting it.
This means ignoring being called racist, or even saying, of course EVERYONE particularly Blacks and Hispanics are racist and we as Whites simply want the best deal for us, rather than taking the back of the bus. Since SOMEONE is going to the back of the Bus, and we don't want it to be us. Simple as that.
But lets be honest. This national healthcare will NEVER EVER EVER be repealed. EVER. And America as a force in the world is FINISHED. We will be at best a fifth-rate power dependent on China, Iran, Russia, India, and Russia's good will. This is the triumph of women, gays, Blacks, Hispanics, and SWPL. Who all backed and wanted this.
So let's peel off Women and simply make the best of the bad. National Health, but National Health for Whites FIRST. Because you don't want to be the loser in the racial spoils system. And there will ALWAYS be a racial spoils system.
I would have preferred a private system where Government does not control who lives and dies by allocating health care, or education, or who gets into Med School. But that's not the case. Someone is going to lose. There is not enough money in the world, let alone the US for that not to happen.

Having turned the tide against Communism and gun control, there is no reason whatsoever that we can't turn the tide against welfare state entitlements beginning with repealing this bill and then moving on to Medicare and Social Security.
Ken is right on. Everyone knows Social Security and Medicare are a) bankrupt and b) preparing to drag our economy down with them. The only way the Obama Party could even bring this monstrosity up was to pretend that it would help "save" Social Security and Medicare and "control costs".
So the Republicans present people with a stark choice; you can have one, you can have two with some fixing, but there's no way we can afford three without a massive tax increase on everyone and accepting a permanent shrinkage of our economy. Then they hit them with how the Obama Party lied to them on the numbers, and then point out that ObamaCare, since the only thing that's started on it are the taxes and fees, is by far the easiest to repeal.
That's the real Achilles heel of this bill -- the fact that, in order to hide the numbers, they had to push the benefits out and assess the taxes now. There will be immediate and HARD economic impact with zero benefit -- and the Republicans need to hammer that home.

Steyn totally skipped over the fact that the profit in our health care system is what drives the world's medical advancement. That will all fall into stagnation and the whole world is going to see the effects. As nature is in a battle with us, any reduction in our medical advances results in more deaths (tons more) and even putting us at greater risk for truly catastrophic problems.
I would just note that the one part of ShrillaryCare that got through was the government essentially taking over the vaccination business (not exactly, but like this health scare, the federal government became the largest customer and that served to give them effective control). As a result, the number of companies producing vaccines dropped from like 25 to 2, and that is why we are constnatly late in getting vaccinations. Lucky for us that the Swine flu was a joke (as the other 5 flu scares that the federal government has tried to run on us) because if it had been for real, we were totally unprepared and would have been truly fucked.

Cantor's a spineless tool, but that's a discussion for another day. Ryan's the man, and Repeal and Replace could actually be great, because the system as it is now is messed up (though obviously obamacare is a million times worse), and this might be just what it takes to get the needed reforms (letting individuals freely buy the plans they choose across state lines, creating a real free market with real transparent pricing, etc) put in place. Who knows, if we fight our butts off, by the time the dust settles, 2010 could be the year healthcare was truly fixed.

So why were Fox and Friends talking about it this morning as though it did? Didn't anyone at that network stop and use one brain cell to ask this question: In this day and age of cellphone cameras, in a setting that ensured the presence of scads of media looking for anything to use against the Tea Party protesters, why was there not one shred of audio or visual evidence? Not one Joe Citizen or congressional aide or media person has produced anything to back it up? Not possible and not believable. You can be sure that if any proof of Tea Partiers spitting or yelling "n_____" existed, it would be looped non-stop on MSNBC or CNN.
In the long annals of media malfeasance, this might be the worst. Sadly, it isn't nearly as bad as what's coming.

If any part of HCR is repealed between now 2012, Obama will veto. Republicans will need majorities in both houses sufficient to override Obama's veto. That is the only hope through 2012. Any attempt to repeal after 2012, assuming a Republican president would require a filibuster-proof Republican majority in the Senate. That is the only hope after 2012. This bill is so incredibly bad, one or both of those things MIGHT be achievable. Short of a coup, those are the only options. As Mark Steyn notes, the dismantling of the military will be the next step. In ten years, heck, in five years, the world will be a very different place.

I did it with the hope that conservatives could stop McCain from winning the nomination, as McCain is even worse than Romney (though both are obviously far superior to Barry). This will prompt more Republicans to take up this cause for the election in 2012. They too will win.
Because so many Republicans ran on this promise, they will work to repeal. Like the contract with america is will become a promise that can not be weazled out of.
Meanwhile, the media, doctors, business, and the public will come to understand what is in the bill and they will not like it.
We will be faced exploding deficits and even DC will admit that something must be done, but what? The easy answer will be repeal and start over.
There will be three factions in this fight (1) the taxpayers and business that hate the costs, (2) All sane citizens that fear the deficits, and (3) the health industry. US Doctors have never been 3rd world bureaucrats like in UK and they will come to understand that (a) their paychecks are going to drop, and (b) the public is going to start treating them like DMV slugs.
Steyn has made a lot of hay being a cultural pessimist, and although I respect his cry I also think he is plastering over a lot of the distinctions that make USA great. Face it, if we were just like EU we would not be having this fight.

Before 9-11, the conservative narrative was that Islam was a religion of peace that had been hijacked. When I said differently and provided the references and resources, you said I was nuts. (Not only that, you asked me to tell you what the research meant, because you didn't have time to read it...and you still said I was nuts...)
In 2003, I warned people to get our from under those mortgages on those big homes they couldn't afford - downsize and use the cash to buy a smaller home free and clear -because the real estate market was over-valued. You said I was nuts.
When I tried to tell you that AGW was a farce, your objections to it was the legislation and the cost of that legislation. You ignored the science. You said I was nuts...
When the DOW was over 14,000, and I told people that it would crash within six months, people like you said I was nuts. Then, after it crashed, I said that it was never going to reach those heights again...and people like you said I was nuts.
...and most so-called conservatives till believe the progressive, MSM and UN talking points about WMDs in Iraq.
Today, I tell you that America is headed for a civil war - if we get 'winning the Powerball' kinds of lucky, we'll still have a Velvet revolution - and life as we know it will be over, one way or another. That civil war will begin sometime within the next six months to 24 months, give or take a bit. There'll be a complete collapse of our present government by 2013 - 2014, at the latest.
The only serious question at this point is whether the next America civil war occurs before, during or after the next world war. All other factors are a mere matter of details and timing.

Come 2011 when it becomes obvious that Obama's toxicity just took down the entire Obama Party apparatus, expect several Obama Party members with aspirations for the White House to suddenly discover spines and the virtue of opposing Token.

For every Jerry Brown we elected, we also elected a Ronald Reagan.
For every daffy public option scheme our legislature pushes, we VOTED FOR (but were blocked in court) Prop 187 OVERWHELMINGLY.
We opposed Prop 1a by a TWO to ONE margin, even in the Bay Area.
Boxer is exceptionally vulnerable.
Brown is exceptionally vulnerable.
Our legislature has a 16% approval rating.
The mask of things like AB32 being for clean air has sloughed off to reveal a virulantly anti-business gang of environazis.
If there really, truly is hope for America, it will start in its most laughably liberal state- by the bouncing of Boxer, the bummering of Brown. The overturning of AB32, the reduction of the legislature.
If polling shows our state CLOSE in the Senate and Gubernatorial races, landslides. We are D+12? 15? If the GOP is pulling even against Babs, they're going to crush everywhere else.
Now is the time to spend $. To make calls. To volunteer. Thanks to unemployment, the most ardent conservatives actually HAVE THE TIME to do what Obama's collective of activists and college students did in 2008.
Scott Brown's win was the first real shot of 2010. Eeyores even on election night were in disbelief that he would pull a 4pt win.

this will NEVER be repealed, even if the Repubs ever get the House the Senate and WH (with a fillibuster proof Senate) the GOP will never have the spine to stand up to the 24/7 Media onslaught that will occur as soon as the word "repeal" is spoken, anyone who tries will be ripped to shreds, villified and roasted over a pit of hyperboyle and vitirol the likes of which none of us have ever seen.
welcome to the New Dark Ages, cherish with fondness your memories of the greatness of the United States of America because it has died this day and with it goes the entire Western Culture.
the epic nature of this treachery will only be remembered by those who lived thur it and with minds clear enough to realize it's import because the West no longer writes history your children will not be taught what todays events truly mean, they will be feed lies and oppression never knowing that it can be any different.

One of our biggest assets is the fact that the bill had to be back-year loaded to meet the self imposed low costs in the 10 year CBO window.
In the next one, three years none of the good stuff will have happened but all of the bad stuff will be visible. The Dems did not write a bill that was irrevocable, they wrote one that they could pass on their slim margins.
It is ugly. We all know it is ugly and the MSM has denied it but in two election cycles every one will understand. Seniors will understand that Medicare is being cut. Workers will understand that their salaries are taking a hit. Doctors will understand that they now work for the government and their pay and autonomy will have to suffer. Patients will understand that they are being served by another utility company.
It took the Dems decades to understand that you can not take freedoms from Americans -- I am referring to the 2nd amendment fights that they fought well into the 90's and now they understand that Americans do not give up freedoms without a fight.
Well we only had one year to overcome the propaganda that the left had been preparing since Roosevelt (f-ing shit bucket on wheels) and one year was not enough. But the uninterested public will understand it and will fight it.
I talk to young people now (college age) and they are finally starting to understand that guns are a necessary form of defense of freedom. 20 years ago they didn't get it but it has changed. The same change will take place on health care in the next three years.
Again with the comparison to EU, they handed over their right of self defense without a fight. The US people fought and fought and we kept that right and now the tide has turned. This is not EU.
My only fear, (concern) is the court. If O-socialist gets a majority we will have to deal with a liberal court for decades. That is the fight and that is what has held conservatism back for so long. This is a lot tougher and we all know that getting and holding a conservative majority is not easy, even with a R president. We need R (and not a Bush) and a R Senate to keep in that game.

HeatherRadish, yes, the Canadians will have to bite it and stay home when they have cancer, because we will have the same degraded health care, eventually, that they have now.
Stay home, Canadians....the cutting edge technology will dry up, as our system comes to resemble yours.

I know some Canadians. They used to spend 6 months in Florida every winter. Can't do that anymore. Canada says they lose their healthcare if they leave the country for more than 90 days. So they sold the Florida place.

You've been trolling, so I'll feed you just a bit...
I mentored and trained over two hundred of the troops who've served in the Middle East, including several men and women who later became officers. Several of those individuals have died in combat, other wounded, and between them, they have collected an impressive share of combat awards and medals...
Over the last eleven years, I've also worked with and encouraged grassroots political activists and political columnists around the world. Over the last two years in particular, you've heard of many of them, for by their works they have been made known...
I mentored and helped a number of TEA Party activists and leaders around the nation when they were first getting started. I was working for the Haditha and Hamdania Marines when most conservatives weren't aware of the injustices being done to those Marines. I mentored and trained several political activists and politicians over the last ten years, as well - including assisting a couple of third parties in writing and re-writing their party platforms. A few of those individuals are now known at the national level.
Today, I work with people involved with The National Precinct Alliance and offer advice and commentary to JB Williams and his 'Freedom Force' alliance. I've also worked with members of the American Grand Jury.
So, yes. I've been out in front of most of this sort of thing.
While people like yourself were looking for Great Leaders, and the approval of your peers, I was simply getting the job done.
Now, Anonymous Pussy, you Vile homunculus of humanity, put up or shut up.

Whatever the number is, it's enough to make total repeal problematic. What has been assured today, however, is that a revolution is coming at some point. We are no longer one people united under the cause of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We have now officially become a nation of men, not laws.
Enough people vote for Rangle, Stupak, Pelosi, Reid, Obama, et al, that the ballot box is no longer a remedy.
Our two ways of life cannot, in the long run, coexist. Apparently 230 years or so is about the extent.
There will be blood.

For starters, the wifey is in thick with lobbyists. There's also a DVD, titled Boxer Briefs, that supposedly shows him in cahoots with "Call me Senator." I heard a brief discussion of this DVD at a Patriot mtg a few months ago. The beautiful horse country of Culpeper somehow plays a part in all the skullduggery, too. I'd goggle it, but I'm waiting for Michele Bachmann on O'Really.

No one has bothered mentioning this aspect of the Dems' imbecilic argument and it really chafes me to watch these pathetic non-interviews over and over.
Sherman says that the uninsured are already getting treatment (hence the fallacy of the "uninsured" and their numbers) but then makes a new trillion dollar entitlement for health care that doesn't take away the great savings for that treatment that will no longer have to be given.

I researched Roe v. Wade for an essay and discovered two things, 99.5% of women have an abortion solely for the purpose of convenience and that there have been 40 million abortion since Roe v. Wade was passed. Can you imagine the sheer self absorption necessary to force taxpayers to hand over their money because some bitch couldn't keep her legs closed.

I've met Ace, and he has no problem with the so-cons. They show up each year and consistently vote their consciences. They volunteer and donate time and money. For our side, the so-cons are better than unions, grievance groups or paid muscle. So-cons actually give a fuck and look at the big picture. They can't be bought. They hold grudges. There is no reason any sane Republican would kick them out of the tent. All these libertarians and Rockefellers jump ship all the time. And in the end, freedom of religion is a fundamental right -- and I have yet to see so-cons push to legislate religion -- and social issues can quickly become financial ones.
