Maybe Olbermann Is About To Be Cancelled
— DrewM

The only way to explain this performance (and that's what it was) by Lawrence O'Donnell on Morning Joe today is that he's auditioning for Olbermann's 8pm time slot.

The crazy starts at about 2:20 in.

No doubt Scarborough faces another reprimand, this time for kicking Crazy Uncle Larry off the show.

In and of itself, O'Donnell doing his bit of performance art for the lefty idiots who watch MSNBC isn't important. It's the kind of thing MSNBC does 24/7 (well, except for the times when they are running prison documentaries). What this shows is that Obama is losing the argument about how to handle terrorism, from civilian trials for KSM to the Christmas Bomber. Whenever Marc Thiessen shows up and calmly lays out the facts of what the Bush administration did, the lefties simply go nuts.

O'Donnell is a clown but his act is a symbol of an administration and a movement that is only suited to criticizing the adults but are not able to convince the American people they are qualified to handle this country's security.

And oh yeah, Keith? I'd be nervous because in a battle of crazy, no one beats a guy like O'Donnell.

9 There's a saying in law school:  When you have the law on your side, argue the law; when you have the facts on your side, argue the facts; when you have neither, just object a lot and hope for the best.  I think it is pretty clear where O'Donnell is.

As to Johnny Douche or whatever his name is - it's kind of cute that he is so dumb that he basically made Marc's point for him, though Marc's follow-up could have been stronger - maybe ask Douche if he thinks that all administrations should have a 9-11 before they can develop an effective terror policy?  As to Richard Reid - since when do Dems cite the Bush Admin as the Gold Standard for anything?

23 MSDNC definitely has a lock on the psycho crazies.  It must be a requirement to go off your meds in order to go on-air.  I fully expect Ed Schultz to explode on air any day.  I'll have my popcorn ready.  And Larry?  He's going to end up on the roof at Rockefeller Center with a rifle.

24 Scarborough confirmed that O'Donnell was doing his act (and make no mistake, it's an act). Now Scarborough has an obligation to MSNBC's romper room of viewers to call Loony Larry out and expose the fraud. Scarborough won't, of course, because of MSNBC's standing order not to critique the help, but a legit news organization would cut O'Donnell loose. This of course explains why O'Donnell will be on yet again.

MSNBC's a trainwreck even rubberneckers now avoid.

26 the aggression and vindictiveness odonnell and deutch display has a knee jerk hyper-sensitivity that brings me back to that travesty, the 9-11 commission, a witch-hunt to heap blame on the bush administration and most importantly a defensive cover for clinton. after 8 years in office and numerous attacks, to which clinton lamely responded, the congressional democrats shone a glaring klieg light on bush's 8 months. shameful & outrageous. as i said in the 90's there's gonna be a lot of blood on clinton's hands, and i didn't mean just rwanda..

52 wiki left out noted douchebag: Lawrence Francis O'Donnell, Jr. (born November 7,[1] 1955) is a political analyst for the American cable news channel MSNBC who has appeared on The McLaughlin Group and The Al Franken Show. He is an Emmy Award-winning producer and writer for the NBC series The West Wing and creator and executive producer of the NBC series, Mister Sterling. He appears as a recurring supporting character on the HBO series Big Love, portraying an attorney. He also frequently fills in for Keith Olbermann, hosting the Countdown with Keith Olbermann news commentary show on MSNBC when Olbermann is absent.

Wow!

Theissen kicked some Ass on that one. It is amazing to me that, right on que, O'Donnel uses his "Rules For Radicals" training and attacked Theissen personally in his only 30 second response, instead of using the proper Ethos, Mythos & Dianoia Debating Technique, which would have been much more effective.

But it goes to show that not only O'Donnel, but the entire left, has nothing but hate, and deep down side they know they have already lost the debate, and their 40 year grand scheme of destroying Capitalism and shifting the entire world to a One World Communistic Totalitarian Government is coming to close.....

Thank God!

Imagine my surprise when in his big moment at the end he accuses (accuse: le bon mot) Thiessen of being a preppie, a Vassar grad, and not a veteran. 89 Donny Douche is even more useless and stupid than O'Donnell (Rosie or Lawrence - take your pick) and Marc Thiessen handed him his ass after taking a huge bite out of it. Isn't he an advertising agent? What the fuck does he know about anything? And I gotta tell you, I don't like the name Lawrence. Only faggots and sailors are called Lawrence. Holy shit, I wanted to launch a fist right into his suckhole. What a nasty little piece of ignorant shit. Thiessen handled up on him, though. "What are my qualifications, Lawrence? I had a top secret clearance and got my info from the source, while you were reading fucking Ted Rall cartoons to inform yourself about current events. And if you interrupt me again, I'm going to stab my cock right through your teeth and out the back of your skull. Now, buh-bye."

90 It's because you can't punch someone out anymore without going to jail for assault. In any rational society, one could give guys like O'Donnell a beating, and they might learn to be civil. Now, people can be complete disfunctional assholes with no repercussions. Yeah, but it always amuses me when people have always assumed the fear of prison would allow them to get away with whatever they wanted in front of whomever they pleased. Two Christmases ago, my piece of shit brother-in-law got fucking stomped because he was running his dicksucker to a guy who said, "Ninety days in jail for beating the fuck out of you? That's fair." His swollen, purple and misshapen (even more than usual) face was the best (and only) Christmas present I've ever gotten from him.

Look, let's admit it: all of us would rather be arguing politics at the bar. MADD closed the bars, so we come and poke each other here. In TV-land, the culture has devolved to where we watch other people do our drunken name-calling for us. Enough porno leaves one impotent. Have to be nice all day? Come home and watch Simon Cowell snark some teenager to tears. I blame Carson.

Of course he'd get his lights punched out if he behaved like that in public. But he's not in public, and he never will be. Apparently, American politics was just so dull and even-handed in the days of Ike and Adlai that the succeeding generations have a need to see their notions and moods acted out in this kind of kabuki karaoke. Hit the mute, put your warpaint on, and scream along.

It bothers me on Fox, too. Fair and...unbalanced.

Lawrence O'Donnell, PUNKED by fact and reason.

The people at this network actually believe that whoever spouts the most hate and flings the most spittle wins the argument.

That's why they call it PMSNBC.

I like the title 'MSLSD'.

Fits.

OMG, Uncle Larry was hot out of a cannon!! HEHE I love how he resorted to calling out Thiesson on his privilidged upbringing...typical Salynsky handbook stuff.

95 My sentiments are expressed well here about Odumbnell and Douchebag Donny (God is he an idiot) who made his money because he connects with the lowest common denominator of the American consumer.

BUT WTF is Theissen doing going on a show like this with these interviewers? I can see going one on one (and a third), with Scarborough and (Mika), but you can't let them talk like that to you. Have some dignity, Man! You are not going to sell any books to people watching this show. This is where Republican preppies fail. I was going to buy this book but not now. This guy is probably interesting but I'm not going to fuel his media strategy.

And while we are on the subject of unearned privelege. Does Larry have anything to say about Mika and her background?

96 MSNBC serves a marginally useful purpose.  The rest of the ole skule media, and the current administration both look more objectively professional by comparison.  Professorial, even. (I know, thats a racist word, professorial) Contrasted with Olbermann, et al. ANY liberal talking head appears reasoned and thoughtful.  Thats no easy task. Think Howard Dean. "Republican Party...they  just don't believe in science anymore."  That is an exhibition of some serious Reason. I'm not saying he said it on MSNBC, I'm jus' sayin' the fact that he could say something like that anywhere, is because compared to any given moment on MSNBC, he could have said, "Republicans, any Conservatives really, are a degenerative DNA condition, that leads to end of life insanity, its a medical fact, I'm a doctor, and the death panels have a plan for dealing with that in our excellent Health Care Reform. We will use them to slow the melting glaciers, because Conservatives, and Republicans are so cold-blooded.(insert Howard Dean screech)"...and, see how reasonable that sounds?  Ok, maybe not the screech part.
