— Open Blogger BREAKING: Cha-Ching! Maffei concedes; NY-25 another pickup for the Republicans! (Edit: The newspaper has since rewritten the article with a more "nuanced" narrative. Maffei is behind, but he can still request a recount.) (h/t Bomber© in the comments.)
So there I was, all set to compose and post my first awesomeish weekday MOOT, but then Comcast was all like

and I was stuck all day peering through the window instead of attending the party. Story of my life, let me tell you. I mean, I love you guys, but not enough to hand-code 175 lines of HTML on an iPhone.
Anyway, speaking of great timing: The elections are over, the thrill is gone. Thanksgiving is still two days away, and you're stuck reading this. In short, you must be bored. So hey, why not pay a visit the beautiful Korean DMZ? South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has introduced new mascots who would love for you to stop by and and engage in some "ecological tourism", which I believe is PR-speak for "there's not much there; hope you like plants."
They introduced these cute little critters to the world ... yesterday.

Left to right: Didi, Jiji and Mimi the happy DMZ butterfly family. Not pictured: Uhoh the Stuxnet-infected centrifuge.
Says the Yonhap News Agency:
The butterflies, named Didi (dad), Mimi (mom) and Jiji (their child) and with blue, pink and green wings, respectively, symbolize a family from an alien planet making their visit to Earth to find its natural charms.

Above: Natural charms.
More fun after the jump than if Don Rickles was your TSA agent. I was gonna call this the MONT, but eman correctly recognized that MOOT makes more sense. So welcome to the MOOT.
Why? The question is moot!

Warren the Ape was the most hilarious show on television. Unfortunately, it was also greenlighted by MTV of all channels, which was about as intelligent a move as casting Betty White to play Phil Spector. Fourteen-year-old girls didn't get it and didn't want to get it. Thus it almost certainly will not be renewed, and I'm pissed off. You can still watch the episodes on MTV.com, for now. I suggest you give them a try.

Okay, allegedly it's an animation by Nathan Lane Love. But admit it, doesn't that look just like Keith Olbermann by the time he gets to the end of a Speshul Koment?
I'm pretty sure the little hats are a metaphor for Ed Schultz's unstructured I'm-gonna-torch-this-place id.
Or Else It's a Metaphor for Charles Nelson Reilly.
...and that's why all the hippies eventually switched to cocaine by the late '70s, Billy.
It's never too early to teach your children the joys of fried pork products. Get yours soon before it's banned in Britain!

Somewhere, somebody is offended.
Today's MOOT brought to you by the instrument what am for you.

Yeah, I was offline for something like ten hours. I had to get one of those "book" things and try it.

China doesn't want Obama to inflate our currency. Inflation here means food inflation there. But China knows that we have many thousands of troops in Korea vulnerable to a Nork assault.
I disagree. If China wanted to voice their displeasure at QE2, they would dump a lot of bonds to get their message across. They would get the same result without risking a shooting war at the hands of a psychopath.
Not to say that what the Norks did today doesn't work in the Chi-Com's favor, but I don't think it was masterminded by China.

My beef with Comcast comes from when I had my own apartment. I don't really watch too much TV, and I was happy being on the extended basic plan (80 channels) of the local cable company before Comcast acquired it. The monthly bill was around $40. After Comcast bought the company, in almost two years the bill shot up to about $60.

Same thing happened here when Roadrunner bought out Adelphia, except they didn't wait 60 days. In order to approve the buyout and transfer the franchise the local town wanted a hike in franchise fees. That affected everyone even those not living in town.
Roadrunner announced huge fare increases and they were already higher here than in a different town 35 miles over. I called them up and told them to pack it in. I went on Dish.
Of course they soon raised their rates to match Roadrunner. Funny how that works huh? I have the same package as my younger brother in GA and my rates are $30/mo higher.

Comcast sucks my balls. I pay 120 bucks a month for internet and tv, and i get no hd channels.
I am debating whether to switch to fios, which will let me lock in a rate of 99 buck for 2 years.

You know something's up when the liberal meme includes throwing MSNBC under the bus in pure synchronicity with Sharpton, et al now clamoring for "Limbaugh" to be sensored and Fox News to be neutered.
These folks are very crafty and John Podesta is running the board in the script and signals.
Their 2012 campaign will be about GOP harboring "dangersou" speech. And of course the Dems will conveniently forget Team Obama's hair on fire rhetoric.

Ann Marie Buerkle will be Syracuse's next representative in Congress, its first woman in the U.S. House.
U.S. Rep. Dan Maffei, the Democrat, called Buerkle today to concede, ending three weeks of ballot inspections and court wrangling.

"Cabinet secretaries, top congressional leaders and an exclusive group of senior U.S. officials are exempt from toughened new airport screening procedures when they fly commercially with government sanctioned security details."Members of the unwashed proletariat will continue to have their anus', love sticks and taco's manipulated by TSA staffers, and you are warned you will not like it, and if you profess to liking the fondling you will be arrested for crimes against the government. I've been on FiOS for a couple years. We dropped the phone and have 20/20 internet with TV extended plan. We're paying about $10 a month, but have had ZERO issues with it.
We add the occasional movie channel package depending on what we want, but the only gripe I have is that you have to lease the receivers, so that takes up a chunk of the bill. HD receivers or multi room playback HD receivers are pricey per month, IMO.

I had DSL service from Verizon (in a former GTE service area) for a couple of years and it worked fairly well. No outages, at the very least. I did, on occasion, have to turn the gateway off and then back on to reestablish contact, but it always came back up quick. I don't know if that was a DSL problem or a gateway problem (Actiontec), however.

Poor Danny Boy. Local boy went to DC, learned from Rangel, ran for Congress and won, turned into Nancy Pelosi's pet monkey, ignored his constituents' wishes and didn't live happily ever after at the public trough.
How can this possibly be a good lesson for the children? The next thing you know, evil people will tell them they have to work for a living.
