Once Bitten, Twice Shy came out in late 89. I know this because my youngest was born in 90, and the little shithead kid next door spent all day with his window open, smoking weed and playing it on loop. I hold him partially responsible for the bad habits my son has. Wonder if that could be used as a legal defense? Hmmm.

I just want Auto tune to die a quick, quick death. I guess its ok if you spent all your time in dance clubs, but sober and w/o high heels, that makes me wanna shank someone.

335 Weirdest music video I've ever seen:

Not much experience with music vids, but these are the top five things that just weird-ed me out:

1) The white-suited spiked dancers looked like they were designed from a Silent Hill game.
2) Lady Gaga's eyes are freaking huge.
3) There are several people in the video that have metal "thingies" as if they were once assimilated by the Borg and then rehabilitated.
4)  "Vertical stick", "Free-bitch, baby!"?
5)  Femi-bot get-up at the end.

And that's just the top five, the whole vid is whack!

336 I was born in 75 and don't remember most of his presidency - I just remember that dad had a lot more money that I would occasionally steal from his wallet.

Me too.  I remember being very put out when he got shot and there was nothing else to watch, since all four TV channels were covering it live.

I got to stay up to watch the returns from '84, though.   And my grandfather always taped his speeches off the TV onto cassette...had to be quiet when Reagan was speaking.  I miss them both.

350 1) The white-suited spiked dancers looked like they were designed from a Silent Hill game.

I thought that was Obama's job?    Bill Clinton told me so.

426 The first concert I ever paid for was a trippy show with Humble Pie. That's a little obscure for the young 'uns ain't it? Second show? Alice Copper with ZZ Top opening.
Saw Humble Pie at Summerfest in Milwaukee. There was a friggin riot and we about got our asses beat by the cops just trying to get out of the place.
Good times.

427 413 Reactionary & tdpwells - any other picks? tree wave is an interesting one. looking for something between boards of canada and autechre... ?

Posted by: reichwingnut at January 22, 2010 10:31 PM (q2Tpe)

I know autechre, not the other...

I used to have a huge techno collection, so you may already know a lot of this stuff, but have you checked out u-ziq?  I usually liked mine with a bit of drum n' bass...David Holmes album 'this film's crap let's slash the seats' was in my player for months.  Speedjack, Sabres of Paradise, Underworld (you have to know them)...or sigur ros if you're in a really mellow mood...

I'd have to dig out my collection, I know I'm forgetting a shitload of stuff that I used to listen to all the time.

How dare you characterize my taste in music as appalling!

(Right now, I'm listening to "Rainy Days and Mondays" by the Carpenters. I can still hang out here, right?)

443 Dude!  Not my cuppa, but I do indie mashups from time to time, and that was an awesome job, considering the number of mostly crap songs he had to work with.  I counted over 20 songs mashed on that track -- Kelly Clarkson and Jamie Fox and  Lady Gaga and Jay Sean and Flo Rida and Rihanna and Kings of Leon and AA Rejects and Black Eyed Peas and Keri Hilson and T.I. and Timberlake and Miley and Taylor Swift and Mraz and Drake and Beyonce...

It's so much suck, but somehow, the DJ made them suck much less.  Well done.

444 Oh, and now I see that all those songs were listed at your link.  And I missed a few.
