8 What this should be telling the American public is that election laws mean nothing in any State that is run by a bunch of crooks who own all the offices and the courts..

And that applies to a lot more States than AK. It should also tell the public that Section V of the VRA is only to be used against real Republicans in Southern States.

That is if you have commies in the DOJ. We now have two, one ratified by the Senate and one just appointed.

I hope the Republican Presidents remember this during the next session when the Dems in the Senate are blocking appointments. Numbers of recess appointments no longer count.

40 Murkowski is a symptom of the bigger problem. Joe Miller was not a real viable candidate, so people held their noses and voted for Murkowski. Another dog-sh*t choice, like McCain vs Obama. I remember when I was twelve, many moons ago, and having a talk with my dad about all the corruption in politics, esp with respect to senators and representatives. Me dad cut to the chase: Son, the crux of the problem is how can we make it attractive for good people to run for these offices? How to make public service honorable? Nobody with any decent values wants to run for office if the press and everyone wants to run you and your family through the mud and expose you and your family to viscousness that you would want to slit throats of those that do it. That is the age old problem to ponder, son. Well that was 1960 and not much has changed since then.

52 #45: Joe Miller beat Murkowski in the primary election. Then he started putting his foot in his mouth. Also the Native vote was mobilized for Murkowski, which put it over the top for her. The dem candidate from Sitka had no traction from the git go. Dem leaning voters voted for Murkowski. And that is how sh*t happens............... On the bigger picture, what is the use of primaries when the results are not accepted by the loser? I agree. Primaries and political parties are a waste of time. They all need to go. They have become gravy train vehicles.

C-SPAN just showed Senator Ted Stevens' funeral and a tribute to him. It was a very touching ceremony. He was a great man, certainly in the minds of Alaskans, many of whom were there to honor him and to say farewell to him.
