— Ace ...with my leathery hagtongue.
I think the whole country needs a safe word.
How big of an impact has the Tea Party made? Enough of an impact that even Nancy Pelosi is now claiming to "share some views" with the Tea Partiers.
Which views?
Um... Well, how the Tea Partiers object to special interests in politics and are all fired up about the Citizens United ruling.
'
Let's see if I have this straight: Nancy Pelosi actually "shares some views" with the Tea Partiers, at least when she seeks to court them. Meanwhile, when liberals wish to denigrate the Tea Party movement, they continue insisting the Tea Party "shares some views" with IRS kamikazee Andrew Joseph Stack III.
Frank Rich:
What made that kamikaze mission eventful was less the deranged act itself than the curious reaction of politicians on the right who gave it a pass — or, worse, flirted with condoning it. Stack was a lone madman, and it would be both glib and inaccurate to call him a card-carrying Tea Partier or a “Tea Party terrorist.” But he did leave behind a manifesto whose frothing anti-government, anti-tax rage overlaps with some of those marching under the Tea Party banner. That rant inspired like-minded Americans to create instant Facebook shrines to his martyrdom. Soon enough, some cowed politicians, including the newly minted Tea Party hero Scott Brown, were publicly empathizing with Stack’s credo — rather than risk crossing the most unforgiving brigade in their base.....
It is not glib or inaccurate to invoke Oklahoma City in this context, because the acrid stench of 1995 is back in the air. Two days before Stack’s suicide mission, The Times published David Barstow’s chilling, months-long investigation of the Tea Party movement. Anyone who was cognizant during the McVeigh firestorm would recognize the old warning signs re-emerging from the mists of history. The Patriot movement. “The New World Order,” with its shadowy conspiracies hatched by the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission. Sandpoint, Idaho. White supremacists. Militias.
Liberals continue reading "anti-government" as Tea Party/conservative, despite the fact that leftwing communists and anarchists are also quite "anti-government," just in a very different way.
And they continue to ignore the final statement in Stack's manifesto:
The communist creed: From each according to his ability to each according to his need. The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility to each according to his greed.
Every G-20 or IMF summit features black-bandaned anarchists throwing stones through windows, throwing stones at policemen, and setting cars on fire. The leftist media never connects such people up with non-extremist politics; indeed, they are very careful never to even utter the word "leftist." They call such people, specifically, "anti-globalism protesters."
But of course they fall over themselves to connect up every possible bad actor with broader, non-extremist political movements on the right.
Even in the case of a guy who concludes his manifesto/suicide note with a communist slogan. So, apparently, much of the Tea Party movement is animated by a burning desire to impose a full communist system on the United States.
This, presumably, would be among the "views" of the Tea Party movement that Nancy Pelosi "shares."

The only thing Frank Rich is qualified to discuss is the comparative quality of gloryholes in the Chelsea bars.

Or is it that she just "wants a seat at the table", "under the big tent"..... when a new Congress is sworn in?

How come she doesnt join the new coffee enema party ? Kos says its up to 29,000 members now, which is at least 2.9 million by msm standards.

I think Nancy may be a little worried about having to go back to flying coach.

Stack was not anti-govt. Stack was pissed off because big govt let him down.

I never understood Frank Rich. He is never that original, recycling Daily Kos conventional "wisdom" here, and even among obnoxious liberal pundits, is much more obnoxious than most. He is simply mean, without being clever about it.
I'll sometimes read lib pundits just to see what the other side is saying -- but not Rich, because he really isn't even good for that. The reason Rich's column sometimes fills up half a damn newspage, is because he is incapable of making a solid point within a traditional column length, like his Times brethren.
Regardless of ideology, that's simply bad writing. Especially when most of his copy is devoted to blatant ad hominem.
So yeah, I hope The Times keeps him exactly where he's at. It's not like he influencing anyone who ain't already been influenced.
Waste that space Frank. Waste it good.

I never understood Frank Rich.
He's a movie reviewer. Couldn't make it there. So he did what all failed movie reviewers do. He became a political pundit.

I titally support the ideas of the Tea Party. That's why I am pushing the healthcare bill as hard as I possibly can. Because that's what the Tea Partiers woudl want me to do.

yes, her comments offended me because I used to consider myself a TEA partier.
but here in the 5th CD Va, the TEA party candidates running in the Republican primary say they don't want Republican help & will run as a 3d party if they fail to win the nomination by primary (which in VA they can't do, but that doesn't stop them from talking about it).
so here in rural Virginia, the TEA parties are shooting themselves & the Republican party in the foot.

When viewed, Nanzi is similar to the Tea Pariers in one respect. Picture a tea bag. Repeatedly used. Then left on the counter to dry.
See the resemblance?

I've always thought hagtongue would somehow be more sandpapery than leathery...oh well.
I await the day the P-lousy turns over the Speaker position to someone else (please let it be someone she detests, then the schadenfruede would flow all the more sweetly and copiously) -- I hope it is televised; I will be knitting ringside and cheering it on.

Thanks to her nut-bag constituency she's not likely to lose her job any time soon, but after four years of mocking and sneering at conservatives it would be ball-dippingly good to see her lose the Speaker position and be relegated to a back-bencher.
"Hey Nan, since your up, be a good girl and get us all some coffee and donuts."

Not real ones. Made up media ones. The real ones the media keeps to itself. How much footage of the marching communists in Copenhagen went on the network news?

Blow it out your ass nancy. I've got the champagne on ice, just waiting for the house to fall on you come November. We really need an amendment to have our elected officials undergo competancy hearings.
Enjoy it while you can Nancy, the stage after dementia is death. You'll water plastic plants for awhile and wear your bra on the outside of your clothes in public but the dementia will quickly take it's toll.

They're automatic printing/airing of any leftist/liberal claptrap is exposing the mental disease that possesses all leftist/liberals for anyone to see and compare with their own views or with other more reality-based opinions.
Never before have so many loonies been given searchlight like attention because until recently the MSM had a modicum of sanity and realized that they lived in a world inhabited by some sane people (or a lot of armed conservatives) and had to tone down some of the really, really edgy rhetoric. Now that they've gone all in on a socialist takeover of the U.S. they've thrown caution to the winds and will let anyone who calls themselves liberal to spout the most inane and ridiculous things. Mostly because deep down these people we read and listen to have really been THIS NUTS THEMSELVES. They print this stuff because IT MAKES SENSE TO THEM.
That's something to think about, isn't it?
Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews are not alone. They have counterparts in every newsroom in print and broadcast media. They just weren't allowed out before.
That they are so desparate and without any check on their irrationallity is an indication that they feel they are losing and that they're losing because they're wrong.

Then I thought "Maybe it was that tax rebel, Tim Geithner." Then I remembered he enforces tax law.
Then I thought "Bombing a federal building...that sounds like Bill Ayers!" But then I remembered he writes autobiographies.
Then it hit me:
Stack wrote a paranoid and delusional screed, irrationally blaming others for his own multiple and manifest shortcomings in some sort of immature primal scream-temper tantrum.
...just like Frank Rich!
