— Ace Guys? This is going to happen.
I've already decided the Globe poll was nonsense and that of course the Democratic Party's own poll is worth doodley squat.
So now we have one poll showing a one point Brown lead, and this one showing a two point deficit.
It's going to happen.
Woot: AHFF Geoff notes without leaners included (who may not vote, after all), Brown's really one point ahead.
And on Twitter, Slublog points out something astonishing: Among likely unaffiliated voters, Brown leads 71-23.
Of course, he's going to need that sort of lopsided split to offset the massive, massive Democratic advantage. But I'm pretty sure a lot of Democrats will be voting for him.
More: Via Allah's mighty Twitter feed -- even internal Democratic polls only show Coakley ahead by five.
Cratering: Same internal poll, down from 15 a week ago to 5 now.
Thanks to enoxo.
Panic Button: From Coakley's call to donors...
“It’s a little frightening how much traction he’s been able to get so quickly,” Coakley said on the call, which I was able to listen in on this afternoon, adding that he’d successfully used terror and joblessness to stoke voter fears.Coakley also pleaded with donors to come through with last-minute funding for what she said would be an extremely pricey home-stretch. “It’s astounding how expensive this is,” Coakley said, saying additional TV ads are on the way. “We can’t stress enough how urgent it is. We need $400,000 in additional TV, $325,000 in getting out the vote mailings, and $80,000 in robocalls.”
Thanks to LoopyD of Spitfire Murphy.

Not so fast. Geraghty's take is probably right. Mass. is so Dem. that this just means the national Dems are going to have to spend lots of money to buy, uh, enhance turnout.
But, yeah, I'm donating anyway. Even a close loss could make the difference in stopping the health care bloat bill.

If, and still an if, he can actually pull it off, what will be the excuse?? Cold weather? Special election? Day after a holiday? All of the above? Take your pick.
Just like NJ and VA, they (Dems and the defunct media elites) will spin it any other way so it's not presented as to what it truly is: a referendum on Reid/Pelosi/Obama.
And really, even if he can't win, which will be a crushing disappointment, the fact that he came so close in this state is room for optimism.

It's Massachusetts. It's the Kennedy seat.
By hook or by crook, the Democrats will not allow the GOP to claim this seat. Probably by crook.
Besides, we've been burned before. Remember when Romney was supposed to beat ol' Teddy? And then there's the recent NY-23 incident.
I'll believe it when it happens and not one second before.

1) If Brown wins, we may get the crucial 41st vote only to see it sold by one of the Maine sisters.
2) Brown winning could bite us in the ass later if he gets independently loopy on his votes.
So we're stuck voting in a possible RINO-lite because things have gotten so bad.

Another passenger incident on the Amsterdam to Detroit express
Unruly Passengers Disrupt Northwest Flight 243
DETROIT - Sources tell Fox in Detroit that a flight from Amsterdam into Detroit Metropolitan Airport was held on the tarmac after landing because of unruly behavior by some of the passengers.
The source says five men from Saudi Arabai were saying something in Arabic that alarmed four on-board Federal Air Marshals. The Marshals speak Arabic. A decision was made to stop the plane on the tarmac away from the passenger terminal and remove the men from the plane.Posted by: kbdabear at January 12, 2010 01:37 PM (sYxEE)

Pagliuca was the funniest candidate. A billionaire, was Mitt Romney's former business partner, and seemed to be a Republican...until he decided he was a Democrat and wanted to run for Deddy's seat.
Pagliuca spent millions $$ running constant TV ads telling everyone how he was a regular joe and a moonbat. He came in 4th! Capuano ran tv ads against Dick Cheney. Capuano came in 2nd.

Is it possible that this entire nightmare could be over?
Is it really possible?
I shouldn't be pinning all my hopes for the future on this one guy, but I gotta be honest with you, I am. I see this as the end of the recession. If the insanity in Washington would just stop, maybe all that cash would come off the sidelines and people wouldn't be so terrified to do anything. We could go back to work, invent things, open businesses, look for customers.
I don't pray a lot, but I'm praying for Brown.
PS I've been reading the comments in the Globe and Herald and have noticed Mass. commenters saying something along the lines of they're voting for him now to stop the machine. He may never get their vote again, but they seem to be agitating for votes for Brown as teaching the Dem party a lesson or something. I don't really care if they are back to being Dems in a year, just hope it isn't hot air.

Consider a large balloon of 10 meters in diameter. Imagine this large balloon in a football stadium. The balloon is so large that it lies on top of many members of the crowd. Because they are excited, these fans hit the balloon at different times and in different directions with the motions being completely random. In the end, the balloon is pushed in random directions, so it should not move on average. Consider now the force exerted at a certain time. We might have 20 supporters pushing right, and 21 other supporters pushing left, where each supporter is exerting equivalent amounts of force. In this case, the forces exerted towards the left and the right are imbalanced in favor of the left; the balloon will move slightly to the left. This type of imbalance exists at all times, and it causes random motion of the balloon. If we look at this situation from far above, so that we cannot see the supporters, we see the large balloon as a small object animated by erratic movement.
Considering Brown's pollen particle moving randomly in water: we know that a water molecule is about 0.1 by 0.2 nm in size, whereas a pollen particle is roughly 25 µm in diameter, some 250,000 times larger. So the pollen particle may be likened to the balloon, and the water molecules to the fans except that in this case the balloon is surrounded by fans. The Brownian motion of a particle in a liquid is thus due to the instantaneous imbalance in the combined forces exerted by collisions of the particle with the much smaller liquid molecules (which are in random thermal motion) surrounding it.

Which is pretty damn good, if you ask me. I know a lot of you turds think little of Romney's conservative bona fides, but speaking as an ardent conservative myself and longtime political junkie, Romney is a good conservative and a damn good Republican.
So that's who Scott Brown is. If you like Mitt Romney, you'll like Scott Brown. Or you can keep believing the shit you hear on the toob and keep letting the Northeast liberal thing cloud your judgment.

if the lead is only a couple of percentage points then it's a lost race on two counts, 1) you can steal close elections, and democrats like to steal elections, and 2) if it's close the democrat will lawyer up, ask for a recount, then the republican will wuss-out, and the democrat will win it after a gazillion recounts.

She does seem like a really shitty candidate. How they failed to come up with a Kennedy heir to run is beyond me, unless they're all too genetically defective from years of drunken inbreeding.
Heh! The Democrats weren't supposed to have to work this hard. This is Ted Kennedy's fricking seat, for crying out loud; you know, the Lyin of the Senate. This election was basically supposed to be a cakewalk/coronation of Coakley to replace the dead Chivas Regalty. I think the Democrats assumed they could run a dessicated dog turd, and it wouldn't matter. I am really hoping and praying that Scott Brown can pull this off, and that it is as spectacular as Bob McDonnell's win in Virginia. That said, even if he does lose, this race is forcing the DSCC to spend money that they weren't anticipating to spend. I hope it empties their fricking coffers and shakes their soulless bodies to the core.

In less than a week Coakley will have won and republicans will let them get away with it yet again. Haven't we seen this before?"
Well, there is always that possibility, that's why Brown needs to win big. I would hope, however, that after our gubenatorial race in 2004 here in WA, and Al Franken's win in MN, that some lessons would be learned.

I wish Brown would remind the people of the commonwealth that this 'special' election is kind of a farce. The senate seat was supposed to be vacant until we had the special election.
The governor and the state legislature had NO FUCKING RIGHT to change the laws AFTER Kennedy died and appoint a place-holder just so the Democrats could advance their agenda in the interim.
This is fucking bullshit. And the people should be outfuckingraged. I know I am. Paul Kirk is an unelected illegal vote in the US Senate. What happened to the government of the people, by the people, and for the people?

Coakley to donors on private conference call with DNC Chair Slingblade Kaine:
“It’s a little frightening how much traction he’s been able to get so quickly,” Coakley said on the call, which I was able to listen in on this afternoon, adding that he’d successfully used terror and joblessness to stoke voter fears.
Coakley also pleaded with donors to come through with last-minute funding for what she said would be an extremely pricey home-stretch. “It’s astounding how expensive this is,” Coakley said, saying additional TV ads are on the way. “We can’t stress enough how urgent it is. We need $400,000 in additional TV, $325,000 in getting out the vote mailings, and $80,000 in robocalls.”

Vote for Brown, send money, but at the same time, be aware of the next step. If he wins, be prepared for a possible fight to stop a weak Republican in the Senate from switching a vote - Half a billion dollars speaks volumes.
And also, don't scream or cry later if Brown - as he indicates he will do - votes with the Dems sometimes on crucial issues down the road.
Right now, the Game Face has to be on to stop that travesty of a healthcare bill from passing.

As for the "unenrolled" voters, I think most don't really care about the corruption b/c "that's the way it's always been." Unenrolled doesn't necessarily mean independent, it usually means apathetic.

Nor a starter. And probably will get traded for a 3rd string punter next season.

My suggestion would be to research Coakley's record and get the word out about it. There's plenty there, starting with today's garden club story and the paedophile priests, the rapes, and the terrorists (I think we have one locked up in Sudbury). Also keep mentioning her ties to the massachuetts machine, and "big pharma" (aka that fundraiser).
Even if Mr. Brown won't (and shouldn't) campaign/attack negatively, that's not to say we can't. But at least be as calm with the truth about her as possible. Don't embellish; the truth speaks for itself.

How fucking stupid is that? It's like, 3rd grade psychology or something, but it actually works.
My dad donated $2,400 last night, and I chipped in $100 myself. I'm phonebanking for Brown from Madison fucking Wisconsin (aka The People's Republic). And dammit we're gonna win this.

Dude, you gotta get a grip on yourself. (No, you don't really have to - it's a free country and you're entitled to your opinion, etc., etc.) But, please . . . Step back and take a look at your last 23 posts. Whatever the hell somebody said to set you off, it's just plain inappropriate to piss all over this thread on a personal mission to redeem your good name. And all this crap about how you are the real deal, because you support this site or that site? Unless you are personally paying Ace's mortgage (in which case I thank you and take all of this back), you might try assuming that lots of us do our best to support those things we believe in and you are not on any higher moral footing than any other anonymous moron posting on this site.
Carry on.

"Video's up - Eric Wilson tweet"
You sure that wasn't in Chicago? Liked how she was going to wait until the votes were "quoted". Lotta money coming in from "extreme right wing groups".
Must be Lib heaven there. Maybe Oblunder will retire there.

That's a starting point. Make sure you provide details and links. Boston.com and Boston Herald links are good. People have short memories and need to be reminded.
Not only does he exist, he's relatively honest (for a politician). As long as he stays that way, we'll be fine.

And the gall of her saying that Scott Brown has money coming in from out of state when she is currently out of state raising funds from special interests. Astounding.

Intrepid,
I'm sure we'll find out who got knocked down or fell down and by whom soon enough.
I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning.

Be a cheerful warrior and fight the good fight. After all, we're all in this one together.

If he keeps his word and votes to stop health care reform, I'll give him a pass on any other votes he casts and consider my investment well rewarded.

But I sent my beer money into Scott Brown yesterday.
Let me get this straight.
We, the "right wingers", dug into our pockets and collectively raised over $1 million for him yesterday.
Coakley has to blow every Big Pharma Big Insurance and Big Labor dick she can fit in her Taliban-denying mouth...
but WE are the "nefarious right wing interest group" that has BOUGHT Brown?
The absolute ignorance of the left at his point is dumbfounding.

I don't live in Massachusetts, doofus. I have no power to make the slightest difference for this RINO to win or not.
But you know as well as I do that they'll do anything to stop a Republican from winning this election. Anything.
