NFL Moron Pick Reminder
— Dave in Texas

If this weekend is anything like the last one, I still have a shot at greatness. Because we all sucked.

26 OK, I put in my picks.  I got 4 last week.  4.  I hate this fucking game.

And in my fantasy league I have Hakeem Nicks, who's going to be a game time call, so I don't know whether to start him, what with the haywire ankle.

"We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal..... endowed with certain unalienable rights"

Unfortunately, you have to start listening at about 21:45 if you intend to keep your lunch.  At that, it's still hard to hold the gorge down until the misquoting of the DoI, at which point you're free to release your inner burrito.  You can see his distaste as he pauses to parse the words on his teleprompter before striking "Creator".

32 No, I haven't hit the waiver wire yet.  We have 4 RBs in my league and start 2, so I've got a little depth. I've got Grant, Bradshaw, Fred Jackson, and Pierre Thomas, starting Bradshaw and Thomas.  Should be OK.  I'll wait to see if there are any sleepers out there after this week or next before I go hunting up a replacement.

Iranian border guards detained seven U.S. troops as they tried to illegally enter the Islamic state, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Sunday.

"Recently seven American troops were detained by Iranian guards in a southeastern province of the country," Fars said. "Two Iranians accompanying the troops were also arrested."

Values Voters Sip From Tea Party Cup (by NPR Staff)

Values Voters have been called many things: the Christian right, social conservatives, evangelicals and more. Names aside, they are most known for being a dedicated subset of the Republican Party that focuses on social issues like abortion and gay marriage.

A few years ago, Values Voters were a driving force in elections across the country. Now the spotlight has shifted to their brethren, the Tea Party, which is primarily concerned with fiscal issues. Is there really much difference between the two parties, or are their messages starting to overlap?

They are trying to tie then Tea Party movement to social cons because they think that that will hurt the movement with respect to independents. They are scared to death of the Tea party now.

And they can't blame this little bit of BS propaganda on the AP, it was totally written by NPR assholes.

93 @121  I hate satellite (bad dish experiences in New England weather made me phobic) but I almost wish they would've not come to an agreement so my hand would have been forced.

Which carrier?  I had DirecTV in Indiana, which doesn't as much snow as NE but definitely has lots of grey skies and rain (plus tornadoes) and we didn't get knocked out very often, certainly no more than cable did in Houston or Boston.

Maybe you should try again.  Dish technology has improved, I think, so if your experience was a few years ago, it may be much better now.

Now in Indiana we couldn't get any locals or any CBS, so that blew, but I think that was a rural market thing.

94 Getting back to my post at 124, at 1:00 the CBS stations from Scranton & Philly have the Steelers. The FOX station from NE PA. up here has the Eagles and the CBS from NY City has the Dolphins - Vikes. So, dammit, I'll be switching between the Steelers & Eagles.

95 This morning is a true test of my football addiction.  With only one game to "choose" from, can I muster any enthusiasm for the Dolphins v Vikings game?  Normally, I'd root for the Fins to decapitate Far-vreh, but Mr. Y-not got stuck with him on a couple of his fantasy teams, so...

96 I'd like to thank those of you too lazy to pick for the morning's games in league 6.  Perhaps I can climb out of the basement.

97 I expected a much more robust boob thread than what I'm seeing here at kickoff.   You people need to step up your game.
