— Ace He's among the 39 previous-no-votes being whipped. Except it's not 39, it's 38, but people keep saying 39. (One of the 39, Griffiths, flipped parties and now, obviously, will not be joining Pelosi's Suicide Squad.)
On the other hand, one no vote says "maybe."
Dem Rep Jim Marshall, a prominent Blue Dog who voted No last time but was believed to be open to backing the Senate bill, is now a definite No, his spokesperson confirms.“Marshall is a no,” Marshall spokesperson Doug Moore tells our reporter, Ryan Derousseau.
...
But: Another Blue Dog in that same pool, Rep Jim Matheson, who also voted No last time, is now undecided.
“He is waiting for, among other items, the CBO score on the changes proposed by the President,” Matheson spokesperson Alyson Heyrend tells us.
Being "undecided" is the safe, default play, or it would be the safe, default play if this bill weren't so toxic. So it's no big deal if someone says he's undecided -- he should be undecided, theoretically, until he sees the legislative language. It's notable that so many don't need to see specifics to confirm their no.

So the House leadership is trying to stop talk of deadlines, while House members are openly stating that they are waiting to base their decision upon the CBO score. Meanwhile, our President is holding Potemkin village style 'public' meetings.
In a logical world, these are signs that this thing is dead. But we're talking about D.C, not a logical world.

On a side note, given Rahm's penchant for poking people, does that explain the smile on Pelosi's face?

An idiot two rows behind me at last night's lax game was saying that the thought they should just lower the age for medicare every two years until everyone was emcompassed. It was all I could do not to turn around and say, "You know Medicare is insolvent, right? And that they are cutting services?and they have a fraud problem, right?
I didn't say anything though because my husband frowns on my arguing with random parents.

It's not working now. Their schtick has been worn out and this thing has gone on so long that Congresspeeps can be confident that voting no will get them more than voting yes will.

Heh! I'd love to see you deliver a smackdown on that idiot parent. Shoot Dagny, what do you think those sticks are for? Plus that ball really hurts when you peg someone in the head with it--solid rubber, baby! (I played LAX in H.S., what an absolutely awesome game!)

I bet nothing would make a man tighten his grip on his bar of soap harder than an impromptu shower visit from Rahm. (Not to mention his sphincter muscles!)

“He is waiting for, among other items, the CBO score on the changes proposed by the President,”
I am getting confused or congress is. If they make changes, they have to go reconciliation or a vote in both chambers again. But even the senate dems are now shying away from using reconciliation. So WTF are they trying to tell us, that obama is a dictator?

Pork-bribes aren't persuasive if the bribee will lose their seat over them.
Likewise, threats from Pelosi won't have any bite once she loses the speakership. That's a virtual certainty, and she'll never be able to regain it.

Matheson is a liberal in a district that should be a Republican one. He is a "worried" Dem and I think he will vote NO again. This "maybe" shit is to get Nanny Nan off his back.

I'd love Emanuel to poke me in the chest, I'd rip his fucking head off and shit down his throat. I'm not kidding. I'd knock his mother fucking head off, then I'd spend the night in jail then I'd be a celebritard and get my own radio show.
It's going to happen. Emanuel is a pussy and his ass will be kicked.

Matheson may realize that he is going to lose his seat either way.
The LIBTARD party is not going to know what hit them. Pelosi better pray that Republicans don't take over the HOUSE, because she used AIR FORCE JETS for her family to fly about, when she WAS NOT ON BOARD.
She is in deep shit.

The undecided really want to vote No but they don't want the wrath of Rahm or the nutroots coming down on them so they are looking for a figleaf. Waiting for the recon bill works because no matter what is in it they can point at it and say, "Look, it didn't fix X the way I want it", and vote no with an excuse.
The only reason to vote Yes is because you have drunk the Obama kool aide and if you have you are already willing to say Yes. So Undecided votes are in the closet No's.
