Don't be concerned. The 3rd parties always drop away the closer you get to election day. Plus if 3rd parties are at the top of the ballot, the down ballot effect they have will sweep a lot of GOP candidates into office. It happened in 92 when Perot ran. The GOP actually picked up seats in the House. In 96 when Clinton was re-elected, the GOP only lost 4 seats, which means although Clinton won with 49% of the vote, the Perot voters probably voted for the R congressman.

Reality check.  When was the last time a GOP senate ever did anything right?  What left wing nominee have they ever filibustered?  What tax have they ever stood against?  When have they ever stopped spending?  Remember, the contract with America?  Remember how it was deep sixed by the GOP senate?  Remember the last time?  Remember how they promised and promised to stop the madness and then put Ted Stevens in charge?     

You watch, every leadership post will be filled by a pork barreling, ear marking, double talking, pontificating, smoke blowing, aisle crossing, back scratching, quid pro quo ing, bribe taking, leather chair sitting, whiskey sipping, country clubbing, junket riding, USDA choice grade A old bull R I N O.   

 And every single one of these old bull rinos will think itÂ’s just their turn to loot the treasury. 

The holy rino empire is fat, dumb, and happy with the way things are.   They like being the "loyal" opposition.  That way they can cruise under the radar while they take bribes and earmark their way to a long and prosperous life.   

Notice that no matter how many seats the Rs actually have in either chamber, the Dooms always allow them all the earmarks they want.   Why is that do you think?  Because if the rinos have their earmarks, then they won't fuss.  They will look the other way while the Doomcrats turn America into a 3rd world joke.

Look at Murkookski.  She is bragging that her status as a ranking member of the minority allows her to bring home the pork.    That's her entire campaign.   Yeah, I know, its Murkooksi.  But, they all do it.   There is not one rino up for election who isn't singing the same song.  

We've been here before.  The Republican Party came about because the Whigs would not stand up to the "slave power."   Now the Republicans won't stand up to the "government power."  It is long past time for history to start repeating itself.

30 One of the things I find amusing about elections is that, no matter how much hype is involved heading up to them, the turnout totals remain about the same.

Typically, you get around 40% turnout in a midterm.  This assumes that one party is more excited than the other.  What one party gains, the other loses, so the totals remain about the same.

I am guessing this will be true this year as well (despite the hype).  The GOOD news for Republicans is, that even the far left pollster, Gallup, predicts a 15 point win for Republicans if this ends up being the turnout model.  15 points in the generic spells BLOOOOWOUT,  I am sticking with my prediction from 6 months ago of 75 seats.

Remember that the people you see at rallies such as Becks and TDS's are pretty much activists on the fringe.  Most people are just regular folks living their lives and going to vote.  If you did a poll on the street, I am pretty sure 80% of those asked wouldn't even know who was running for Congress in their district, but they would know who "The Situation" is.

32 So I open my local paper this morning and what do I see? An editorial written by Howard Dean that strongly suggests he's 'round-the-bend, batshit crazy. I mean worse than ever, that is.

The subject of his opinion piece -- ranked choice voting. I'll let him explain it to you:

Having more competition forces candidates to clean up negative campaigning and stick to the issues. Knowing they may need support from supporters of other candidates to win, candidates have to tone down personal attacks.

Reaching out to more voters also helps them govern better when they win.

The fundamental issue is majority rule. Without a majority standard, you can't hold power accountable. It's a blight on democracy when an incumbent can be returned to office even though 60 percent of voters reject that candidate as their last choice. That's why both Sen. John McCain and President Barack Obama have actively backed ranked-choice voting. No party has a lock on majority rule, and both major parties can stand up for it.

I used to get hit by that fake hard drive scan worm regularly. The last time I got hit by it was actually here through one of the ads that used adobe flash player as the vehicle of entry. I couldn't get the thing killed fast enough and it wiped my hard drive.

Sine then I have gone to Fire Fox with add-ons for "no script" and "ad-block". In addition, I have NOT loaded adobe flash player on FF. If I want to view a specific video I fire up IE8 which has it loaded, but I am careful as to which videos I load.

Since I went to that I haven't had a single hit by any virus threats, including Hot Air.

But Democrats don't like run-off elections because it's hard enough getting their lazy-ass constituency to the polls the first time. In a somewhat more personal vein, I happen to be a naturalized American - a transplanted Brit. There honestly has not been a day in my life where, if even for just a fleeting moment, I have not expressed a private prayer of gratitude for my family's being welcomed into the greatest and most exceptional country that has ever existed - and that includes the year I spent in combat in Vietnam.

I am 65 years of age, and unfortunately my wife and I have never been able to have children. Consequently, I do not have the same "stake in the future" as those of you who are parents. Nevertheless, I have been absolutely enraged over the past two years to see our government use its credit card to incur $3 trillion in additional debt with no discernible results, and most outrageously of all, with no present intent to repay that debt. Instead, the obligation for repayment of that crushing burden has been "kicked down the road" to generations yet unborn. And the 'rationale' involved? "Well, our children are just going to have to accept the fact they will not be able to have the same life-style we have purchased for ourselves."

Not quite the American Dream is it? Not quite the dream that spurs people from all over the world to leave everything behind and make their way to America - so their children will have an opportunity to prosper beyond anything their parents could have realistically hoped for themselves.

Let's hope Tuesday next is as great a beginning as we suspect it's going to be.
