Democrats are getting killed, so the new startegy is to seek out a few high profile targets and hope you get them so you have a trinket to hold up. Bachmann, O'Donnell and Rand Paul seems to be the targets. I guess the hope is if that they can knock off a few "tea party" types the remaining Republicans will be cowered into being more compliant. Sadly for the Democrats, the GOP extinction list from primaries (Bennett, Murkowski, Castle) is probably larger.

I Want the Fair Tax. Absolutely and without question. Eliminate all other taxes. 23% tax on new goods. Pay taxes when building or buying a new home but not when purchasing a used home. Pay taxes on new goods. Everyone gets a monthly rebate to cover base taxes so the poor aren't harmed. Strangely people with a lot of money cannot enjoy it without spending it. And spend they do. This also takes away a lot of power from politicians. No more taxing stuff to modify behaviours. No tax on soda.

Investors and money would fly here and businesses would not be able to find enough workers.

Just the thing. But we should wait until after the election to go over it bacause most people misrepresent what the fair tax is. Don't let them lie to you. Read the books.

I just checked out RCP.  The only poll is one from July showing Shuler up 45/44.  Survey USA.

CAC probably knows off the top of his head, but I'm guessing NC 11 is a plus 3 or 4 GOP district, I could be off though.

Yes, that is true. Sadly these are two charectors who played good wholesome people and who were like that in real life. Hugh Beamont was some kind of a minister in CA who helped youths. And Billingsly WAS a mom to all on the show.
